Ban this sick filth! Bring back the traditional violent television! It's the American way!

I love reading stuff like this. It reminds me of everything that's wrong with people.

I thought the "american way" was dressing 5yo girls up as whores then putting them on stage/tv..

Oh lordy. Gintama 79. If I thought the hotpot fight of episode 25 was amazing this is definitely right up there with it. An entire half hour involving a fight about toilet paper. :) Words can't do it justice.

Oh brilliant, I think I'll be there by the end of the week, I'm up to 56 at the moment and I'd probably be farther if I hadn't just bought the new Dragon Quest. :)

I've either not heard of any of those, or I've only seen the name, and not any details. But seeing that I've not started any new shows from the last 6 months except for Slayers Rev, it's no great issue.

I'm on course to clear out my hd of all fansubs/rips (except isos) before doing any major downloading. Concentrating on urusei yatsura in order to finish it around midweek, i've got 21 episodes left so no worrys there (I'm working nights, so wednesday afternoon at the latest). That will leave me just half of slayers (on hold till I scan my cel's so I can find out what episodes they are from), slayers next, the Hueco mundo arc of bleach and genshiken 2. It's slowly going down . Genshiken 2 I'll probably leave longer, everything else is to be watched and cleaned off so I can watch my old backups of Super Dimension Fortress Macross. Only when I'm at least halfway through that will I start downloading stuff, and I'm going to try and be a bit more sensible with what I'm downloading so I don't end up with 300 episode backlogs again :)

Man it's hard to not just queue up everything and downloading 20 things at once - my downloading is pretty much non existant atm

What they are about to do seems a bit crazy and a bit wrong.

Have I forgotten something or did they ever go into how the whole Vajra thing started?

Don't think so.

It'll turn out that the whole Macross thing is in our past, and that's where we came from (the Macross). Or it'll be a return-to-the-forgotten-home-planet thing, which was abandoned because we messed up by making the vajra.

After finally getting all the episodes/OVA's/films I've finally made a start to that (thanks for telling me where to get it). What a fine, funny as hell show it is. :(

It's quite obviously in the Ranma 1/2 style with lots of characters and madcap, crazy situations. I probably won't rush through it as quickly as I did with Maison Ikkoku, not because it's bad but because I can tell it's very episodic it's the sort of thing I'll be putting on before bed each night (really great to watch 3 - 4 episodes before sleeping). Out of all the characters so far I really like Ten, he's cute yet a little git. :)

Have you seen any of Rumiko Takahashis Rumic World shorts at all ? Heard they are supposed to be pretty good as well.

Woo! The next Soul Eater OP is going to be by Tommy heavenly6! I'm excited. I think this is the first time I've ever been excited about a new OP for a show. And rumbel are only a couple of episodes behind. Excellent!

p.s. Is Scramble San Gakki 26 subbed yet?

Finished today (a day later then planned). The second to last episode as actually a repeat of episode 44, just with a "best episode" countdown before it. The last episode had a bit of viral marketing in having Kyoko sweeping across the screen at one point (Maison Ikkoku aired the week after UY finished. UY only finished so they could start MI).

I'm quite surprised at how Takahashi got so much work done. The MI manga started two years after the UY manga, but they both finished in the same year and both were weekly (although UY had double the volumes oddly considering they ran for 9 and 7 years)

I have got Rumic World, but so far I've only watched Mermaid's Forest. Which is about as far away from her more famous works as you can possibly get.

Good man. You'll want to watch Zeta Gundam next, then Char's Counterattack. Gundam ZZ fits inbetween those, but you can skip it - the first half of the series is almost unbearable and you don't miss any plot points for CCA if you don't watch it. Gundam 0080: War In The Pocket and The 08th MS Team are set at the same time as the first series, and should definitely be seen. After War Gundam X and Turn-A Gundam are what's called 'Alternate Universe' stories, and can both be watched as standalone series - they're stories unrelated to the Universal Century, so you don't have to watch anything before to understand them. Gundam 00 is starting up again in a couple of weeks, so you should check out the first 25 episodes of that too.

Don't bother with Gundam SEED or SEED Destiny though, you'll just end up wanting to punch your monitor. SEED Stargazer is great, but you really have to watch the other SEED shows to understand it, and you shouldn't put yourself through that.

Cheers! It's incredibly daunting stepping into a long-established series, not knowing what's considered worthwhile, and what needs to be seen in what order for the whole thing to make sense.

0079 is the very start. It isn't actually called that though, it's referred to as that or "First Gundam" by the fanbase - the official title is just Mobile Suit Gundam. Like a lot of Gundam shows, it's available as a cut down set of feature length episodes, but it's generally best to watch the full series. The anime section on the frankly brilliant MAHQ has a full list of Gundam series, including spin offs, movies, etc. PM me if you need any more info or want to 'borrow' copies of any series.
