Actually that article is vague, most 26 ep shows take place over 2 seasons :D Not that news 4 months before the show starts airing is final. Christ, at the time they couldn't even confirm if Lina (only the central character of the entire franchise) would be in it!!!!! I'm just annoyed at MAL making it "official" when there has been no actual proper confirmation of it (they don't usually mark episode counts unless it's official)

edit: it's now been fixed, although they've left the last air date in there :)

Gintama put me in the mood for more Tomozaku Sugita, so I started watching Haruhi again for the 50 millionth time.

Then I went to look at his wikipedia page, and it said he was in a show called "Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge" which seems like a shoujo series I might like. Has anyone seen it? Any good?

Do not. For the love of god do not. It's aimless yaoi fangirl rubbishness. 4 ridiculously bishounen looking blokes, move in with "outcast" girl who makes herself look unpretty and they try and reform her. 2 episodes and I gave up. Maybe if you could really stomach shoujo perhaps.

Hmm, I couldn't stomach the gay bakery show, so I doubt I could this, thanks for the tip! Well, back to gintama.... I'm on episode 6 now... how long until I hit the strawberry milk jackpot?

Antique Bakery - not Ja-Pan. couldn't remember the name a minute ago. It's literally a show about gay men owning and operating a bakery. Still airing, I think.

I watched the first two at the weekend. AMAZE! The art/animation often seems to look a bit dodgy though, or is it supposed to be some kind of style?

Episode 11 is the Strawberry Milk rant. Episode 25 though is one of the top episodes made of the series so look forward to that when you reach it. And then there's still the Neo Armstrong Jet Armstrong cyclone cannon to go! And lots more!

Didn't think I'd like DMC but after reading what's available it turns out it's really good stuff. It's the way all the absurdness becomes believable to everyone.

Ahh, Gintama is a lot like that other brilliant Sunrise series, Code Geass Keroro Gunsou, in that even when the episode isn't completely lol-tastic, it has enough charm to always be enjoyable.

Also, I loved

putting the (frankly excellent) OP in after 13 minutes

in episode 8. :blink:

I've been watching the original Macross recently. My god, it's aged fantastically, and shows just how gorgeous and missed ye olde cel animation can be.

It brings a big ol' smile to my hate-everything face.

Excellent, I was planning on rewatching this soon (then I only have macross 7, Zero and Frontier to watch for the first time :D). Out of interest, is it the Animeigo version or the ADV version?

Something i noticed earlier - As much as I'm shocked to say it, Manga Ent are the best uk publisher of anime atm. I realise that they are only going up against Mvm atm, but they are clearly putting out the best releases we've ever had in value/money terms. First 13 eps of Buso Renkin on 3 discs? £18. All 4 of Manga's current shows* are all licensed from Viz, all multi disc releases, and all at better prices then anyone has ever offered for anime.

Considering Manga Ent used to be synonymous for "cock up" (Ghost in the shell having two equally botched releases, Macross Plus being printed with the wrong labels etc), it's quite surprising

It's really quite humorous, and I don't think it spoils much, but I can't really say what happened 100 episodes ago in a series I don't watch.

Yeah just finished Try about an hour ago you Mal stalker you. ;) Was up till 4 last night trying to finish it one night before I realised that wouldn't work. Great series but the original and Next were probably slightly better I think. Needs more Naga though. :huh:

Edit: Ah bloody hell. Nearly broken the 90 days barrier for time spent watching anime according to MAL. How depressing.

I think Nahga is better off kept out of the tv show unless they: (this is what I've read online, rather then first hand experience so it's assumed or is hinted/revealed in the manga/novels )

bring her back specifically to introduce her as Amelia's sister

also, they should introduce Luna Inverse. That would be fun

I couldn't bear to sit through One Piece myself but that's because I'm a manga purist. ;) The mere thought of someone trying to give voices to the show pains me. :P

Both Brooke and Franky were written/designed with their voice actors in mind! Plus, all the other voices are actually perfect. Like, I properly couldn't think of anyone better.

I think GViper is right though, technically. The pacing has been really off since Water 7. I didn't notice it so much when I was marathoning the series, but I'm sure the earlier shows had a much brisker pace. At least they didn't have 2.30 of OP, 20 seconds of introduction followed by 2 minutes of recap at the beginning of every episode...

off topic, but I hope OP chapter 513 comes out today, the wait kills me every time!
