I've learnt from my time in the anime community that all fansubbers are trolling until proven otherwise.

The fact that someone photoshopped their frontpage to make it look like they dropped Geass, then a gg member who happened to be lurking /a/ requested the text version, and then they put it on their site makes me somehow doubt they are entirely sincere.

Actually, I went over to Dattebayo to see if they had any new trolls on the go, and found a link to a ANN article about the "fansubs and industry" panel from otakon which dattebayo participated in. The point of most relevance here given recent discussion is that for the shows Nabari no Ou, Hitman Reborn, Bamboo Blade, Monochrome Factor, and Cazador de la Bruja, Funimation were indeed asked by the japanese to get fansubs of these stopped despite Funimation not yet owning or negotiating for these series. As far as Slayers Revolution goes, I've no idea what stance Tv Tokyo have.

edit: Funi did have permission to block slayers revolution

And you were right, episode 20 is available now (gg)

Mmm but the problem there would be that they'd have to guarrantee that they'd be able to show both arcs within a reasonable time frame since they'd never be able to get away with having a cliffhanger then leaving it for 3 years. Or they could just do a berserk and make up some ending randomly.

According to a post on MAL in the Haruhi spin off thread, someone is claiming Shoji Gatoh has said that FMP4 won't happen until the final novel is published (no source for the original) . Seeing as one hasn't been released this year, means FMP4 will probably be summer 2009 at the very earliest, likely not till 2010 given KyoAni's current known projects

Speaking of KyoAni rumours, it seems that the reason why Haruhi season 2 hasn't been aired is that the writer is demanding more of a share of the profits than what he had previously (since he's obviously clocked the huge merchandising wave going on) and because of this, the company publishing the books isn't publishing book 10 until he relents. Or something. Still just a rumour mind.

That wouldn't surprise me...

Interesting article on why Geass R2 has been something of a trainwreck. The long and the short of it is that the new family friendly time slot really fucked up the plans for the continuation of the series. And probably led to Rolo. Fucking Rolo.

To be honest I've still been enjoying it, even if it hasn't nearly been up there with the first season, but I'm secretly hoping one day, probably 5 or 10 years in the future we'll see a proper continuation in line with the production's original ideas...

Hey, a question; Is Reborn! worth watching or reading?

Not watched it but I've read a fair ammount of it. First section is a sort of Daily Life section and is fairly boring stuff. The arc after that, the Vongola Rings, is moderately enjoyable, on par with most shounen nonsense (everyone coincindetily getting a one on one fight with their ideal opponent etc). The current arc had some good ideas but is let down by going on for fucking ever jesus christ why won't you stop for the love of god please stop in a rather Bleach-esque manner.

So, uh, basically if you have nothing else to do do, go for it.

Edit: If you're after something to watch, Gintama waves at you. With examples:

:(

a Sunrise series eh... I think I'll check it out! who's good for subs?

Shinsen for the first 50? I think episodes then it's rumbel all the way from there. There's a batch of the first 50 out there somewhere. Takes a few eps to get into it but it really does deliver some amazing comedy. Plus the blue hair guy is voiced by Tomokazu Sugita(Kyon) so it's win-win.
