Apparently it's going to finish with this series, which is probably for the best.

Considering the magnitude of EPIC FAILS in the 14 or so episodes of the first series I saw, I'm surprised it made it past the first series.

I've been busy in the last week. 26eps of Space Battleship Yamato, 18 episodes of Ranma, 10eps of Urusei Yatsura, Slayers Revolution 6, A Galaxy Angel special I forgot I had already seen, Lupin III: Secret of Mamo, Genshiken Ova's, One piece Mugiwara Theater (5x3-4min eps) and 11eps of regular One Piece.

Grand total: 1 movie, 66episodes + 5minieps. Confusingly MAL seems to think it took me two weeks to do that, due to how the entrys were made and it's own system for splitting up weeks (I want it to start on a Monday dammit)

It's not though. It's all about how you arrange it across the week, which is easy for me when I'm on night shift:

Watch stuff Sunday night/early monday morning

Get up in afternoon according to Alarm (Time is based on potential for oversleeping, time to eat and time for doing odd things that may need doing)

Watch 3-6 episodes

Get home from work. Watch episodes according to time home from work, tiredness, and mood. 3-6eps typical

Potential 6-12eps a day

*5=30-60eps

Weekend:According to mood. Generally at least one movie or ova or special. At least 10eps spread across 2 days

It sounds a lot, but it is spread nicely over a period of time. I'm on day shift this week and barely slept last night (not due to anime, but I watched some when it was pointless going back to sleep due to time), so the viewing count will decrease sharply across the week, only rising at the weekend. I'm on nights again next week so sunday evening/night will be 10+eps depending on mood or other activities.

I'll also point out that I do a fair bit of internetting, bass practice and other things while watching anime, so I'm not looking at the screen for hours and hours and hours without doing anything else. Admittedly I'm a huge dork and don't go out much though

Up to episode 19 of Gurren Lagann. I wasn't expecting that in episode 17.

I must say that so far I'm not liking how some seem to have turned into cunts (though I've always been wary of Rossiu) and the mental fun isn't quite present. But it's early days in this second part, so I'm hopeful it will live up to the first part of the show. And I do like the Tron stylings of those Mugan.

One more episode tonight and finish it off tomorrow

Gets ace again soon. There's a bit of a lull in the late teens/early 20s when it gets all "political", but it hits off again :-)

Just watched Gunbuster in prepartion for watching Diebuster. Amazing stuff. Some proper cheesy lines and dialog but the ending was superb.

I really should get around to watching them both.

Geass really is shit, but I'm glued. It's like watching a trainwreck in slowmo.

Indeed, exactly so.

Just wait until the shit hits the fan. After the end of episode 21 it's amazing. Beyond epic.

Watched Diebuster last night and it was equally amazing. A bit more random than Gunbuster perhaps but the ending was brilliant again. Also, very funny to see how much Nia's design got pinched from Nono even down to the VA.

Prepare to be hugely disappointed.

Bwahaha. SUPER GAINAXFACT: The voice actress also did the voice for the teacher "Miya-Jun" in FLCL.

Just finished watching episode 26 of Gantz. :D

Can someone lend me all the manga so I know what happens!!? Had to have a quick look at a little spoiler on Wikipedia just to ease my mind slightly.

Edit: Just found the complete manga in jpg form so this could be my introduction to electronic reading. PSP or iTouch I wonder? Actually screw that I'll read them on the HDTV.

I had a look on Wikipedia after watching it too, but it seems there is no point looking to the manga as a continuation of the anime. From what I read, they went in quite different directions, with different characters having very different fates. Like ones who died in the anime not dying in the manga.

The trouble was that the anime was finished way before the manga had been completed so they basically just made up an esoteric ending. It happens a lot when animes are made in this way; A manga's at the height of its popularity so an anime is needed, but the story isn't finished.

The manga's a lot more detailed, satisfying and complete as a story apparently. It certainly should be as it's the source material.

Last time I read the manga (around 420-ish), it was still totally up in the air, and even more weird. Then I realised that it sucked.

Is the manga finished yet? I was under the impression it is still ongoing.

Really? :D

The anime follows the manga almost exactly up to the last few episodes where they need to wrap things up. I wish they'd just have continued with another few series rather than stopping dead.

In the anime when

Kato and Kishimoto die

, it's such a major plot shift that it feels completely off-kilter not to follow it up, which I think the manga does. Not sure yet though but when you reach 100 points

it seems you can revive fallen comrades.

You get 3 choices.

Revive a fallen comrade, continue with some kind of upgraded weapon or leave and have all memory of Gantz related events wiped.

I was replying to this to say that I wasn't going to read your spoilers, but then the quote came through unspoilered in the reply!

Still pretty stoked to read the manga though

Now where can I get the Gantz manga up to date and at a decent price?
