There's two DMCs now though. Are you thinking of the "right" one?

DMC = Detroit Metal City and also Devil May Cry. Two very different shows from what I have gathered.

Yes that's right.

DMC seems to really refer too Detroit Metal City at the moment, since it's grown in popularity over the course of this year.

But yes i was refering too Detroit Metal City.

You could just import the R1 Dvds, you know. That or wait for the UK R2s. Why spoil the show for yourself?

The Geass R1 Dvd is also out. Looks amazing. The subs are really well done.

I understand some Japanese so it won't be completely ruined for me - it'll be a learning experience! Having said that, I'd consider buying the DVDs as the series up until episode 13/14 has been excellent, especially the  moment around episode 10.

Fair enough. Although you might to wait for the bilingual releases of TTGL as the current sub-only packs read like speed subs.

If the effort put into the 'proper' TTGL releases is anything like the current Geass release, it'll be worth the wait.

Hmm I just did a quick check of completed downlaods and I've managed to get 220 eps ready to watch again...

This week I've been watching Space Battleship Yamato, and also the first "series" of Ranma 1/2. I'll finish Yamato this weekend probably (11eps left). The rest of Ranma is a mix of dvds I downloaded a few years back, and rips I'll need to download where I'm missing discs (easy enough for me to find). For the rest of the series I'll mix it in with other shows by watching what I have on dvd, then downloading the missing eps as I go. For Urusei Yatsura I'm just looking to keep an average of one ep a day, so I'm going to fit it in between other shows as the mood takes me. I've already backed down over my plan to not start any other long shows until finishing it, so theres no rush now

One Piece post ep 300 seems to have progressed very little so although I was going to charge through it to keep up, it seems pretty pointless. I've got water7 to watch, and again it looks like something to break down over several weeks.

With my starting of Slayers Revolution I'm no longer restricting myself to watching a single show until finishing an arc or the series. Sometimes it works (FMP), sometimes I just want the show to hurry up and finish so I cant start something else. That said, Slayers is the only show currently airing that I'm tackling on a weekly basis. More variation, but still only a handful of shows at once.

the first "series" of Ranma 1/2.

Yappa paa!

For anyone who watched Kaiba:

Some things I need clarification on. What was this about - "the genuine Meiri" from episode 8. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v246/FargalEX/meiri.jpg

How did everyone come back to life in the last episode? I thought they were all killed by eachother at the end of episode 11, or were they just knocked out? And how did Mantle come back to life in the first place after Warp killed him in episode 8?

Also I'm not sure why Kaiba was flying into the old palace in the first place (at the start of episode 10), when he gets back to the palace the computer says that his mission is complete. Perhaps he was trying to infiltrate Issoudan?

PS Where did that massive thing that was giving birth to all the Warps come from then I wonder?

Genuine Meirei is probably just him saying that the statue in question is a genuine Meirei statue and not a replica. Meirei is just some made up name.

As for the people coming back, I'm not entirely sure how that worked. Possibly Kaiba returned the memories that were let free or maybe only a certain portion of their memories were lost when they were all shot by the memory gun and they were in that "paused" state until they reawoke.

Mantle probably came back because he had made a copy of his bodty that was either wandering around or was scheduled to be released when his original is killed.

As for why Kaiba was flying around, presumabely he was just cruising around on his flying pimp machine but crashes down into the old palace and the shock makes him lose his memory. The mission complete bit wasn't Kaiba but rather the other Warp(voiced by Renton from E7 to give some kind of distinction) and was a reference to his mission of being the King until the proper Warp returned being completed.

The massive monster we see at the end looked like it was the source of the bodies we see in the pods, the ones where he re-grows Neiro after she is killed.

My only question is; what the hell was the deal with the hole in his chest in the end? Where did it come from?

I've started watching Maison Ikkoku and whilst I'm only in 4 - 5 episodes in I'm really enjoying it already. I do love Rumiko Takahashis stuff in general, especially Ranma 1/2 which I absolutely adore though this seems a bit more grown up/mature with a healthy dose of comedy. After this I just need to watch Inuyasha and get Urusei Yatsura, I'll be kept busy for ages

Whilst I love all sorts of anime I have to admit I really love the romantic comedies with happy endings, just so easy to watch and always put a smile on my face. Anyone got any other good recommendations of that type of show ?

For reference some of my favourites are Ranma 1/2, Love Hina, Hare and Guu (well it's more comedy than anything), Fruits Basket etc

Or anything closely resembling Black Lagoon as I fucking love that show :( (Season 3 on the way woohoo!)

I didn't understand the importance of the Meirei statue though, what it was and why Mantle said something that the viewer doesn't get to hear after handing it over to Warp.

Also I knew that the monster was the source of the Warp bodies but it would have been nice to know where it came from in the first place.

The hole in the chest is from where his mother poisioned him isn't it?

Having rewatched it, I can only think that perhaps the statue holds some kind of link to the old palace and thus to the real Warp and Mantle bringing it out is him referencing that he knows that Renton Warp isn't the real king. What he whispers looks to me like Warp so he's probably tempting Warp with his knowledge.

My first manga series I started and finished was Maison Ikkoku. Its ace. Now its all reprinted cheap and tiny, I wanna rebuy it all, even though the original set be back over £100 to get!

Mushishi 21 was a bit grim. The one with

the children that turn green.

I thought it was bad when he comes out with

"they can't be saved, they will all die..."

but then he followed that with

"...but we have to kill them first."

I know they weren't actually human children, but still...

High'fucking FIVE

Although Urusei Yatsura is more random sillyness then romantic comedy, so be prepared that it might not live up to it in that department

I'm sure I'll love it when I finally get my mits on it, I love Rumiko Takahashis stuff and think she's a great writer for comedy/wacky situations, just a pity she never seems to give her shows proper ends from what I can tell (with the exception of Maison Ikkoku which is supposed to have a fantastic end)

I thought initially when starting Maison Ikkoku there wasn't going to be any perverts in it, thankfully after a few episodes I was proved wrong :( The short film she did One Pound Gospel's well worth a watch also.

I also wish someone would start animating the rest of Berserk, absolutely brilliant manga (from what I've read anyway)

Yeah, out of all of the episodes, I found that one the creepiest. I think it was just

hearing young children say something like calmly with no hesitation was the freaky part.

On a rather different note, is it just me or does the School Rumble 3rd Season OVA thing seemingly start in the middle of a storyline? I watched the Second Season up to episode 26, but this episode labelled '25' by Yourmum fansubs seems to begin with a recap referencing material I haven't seen.

Yeah, it starts at the end of the third season, as I think the releases of the last two episodes are being bundled with the ending chapters of the manga.

...

Kaiba 12 really was probably higher up on the WTF scale than Evangelion.

Ah, Code Geass. You never fail to be an interesting show.

Wonder if the creators will try for a third season or just end it at the current run?

Apparently it's going to finish with this series, which is probably for the best. I just finished downloading the latest one... looking forward to watching it. It bloody took me long enough - Since I'm in Thailand at the moment connections to lolipower and assorted irc channels is shit. So it took me god knows how many hours downloading the 394 MB file at an average rate of 11kb/s. Surprisingly even that was better than the torrent. ;)

Good times!
