Remember when Mission: Impossible II came out, and everyone was all excited to see how AWESOME John Woo would make it?

Remember how it turned out to be an absolute face-palm of a disaster?

I watched Appleseed: Ex Machina last night. Well, part of it.

It was so brutally fucked-over by Mission: Impossible II-style bullshit that I couldn't bare it any longer.

ROBOT DOVES? OH FUCK OFF!

Tell me about it.

It was cliched, predictable and totally unoriginal.

Anyway, enough about MI2, Same goes for Appleseed ExM.

What's even worse is Vexille. Another CGI film, much worse than Appleseed ExM in every way.

Another sub-par story, with bad plotting and dull characters.

Avoid both films at all costs.

Of course, I've already sat through both of these crappy CGI films at this year's Anime All-nighter :) .

Everytime I hear that song, I can't help but remember the sheer ridiculousness of the episodes it was in.

I'm fairly sure that I warned people off Vexille prior to the all-nighter. It looked amazing, especially the robot sandworm thing (imagine a mechanised version of the Dune [film's] sandworms), but that was about it. The plot was bollocks and I didn't give two shits about any of the characters. In fact, it was so bad I fell asleep during the bit in the middle where there's lots of talking going and sod all action.

At least now both of you have made me glad that I didn't pay to watch Ex-Machina (I did mean to see Origin: Spirits Of The Past but forgot to go along to the screening).

Kamina's dubbed voice is a bit SHIT

Everyone else sounded fine though. Is it just me or did they dub boota as well? Also they cut some stuff out and sped up the intro/intro and took out the wonderful eyecatch things. FIGHT THA POWAH

Hmm, there appears to be a torrent out for School Rumble 3rd term OVA ep 25 - is it incorrectly labelled or just a fake?

EDIT: hang on, apparently it's just weird. Although no confirmation has been made for a third proper series - the omakes relate to the third series... so will be numbered 25 and 26. Weird. I would have thought they would have taken place between the second and third series, not after...

I have only one thing to say

Slayers Revolution :o:lol:

Is this a new series? (or another warmed up rehash of existing episodes)

I don't really do anime these days, but I remember loving the three Slayers series back in the day.

It's a new one. No rehashed episodes as far as I'm aware.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I can only repeatedly echo this comment and scream for more.

Speaking of Kaiba-esque, you may wish to look at Genius Party's clip number 6 called Happy Machine. Art style is very similar and it's just great to watch.

Yeah, I have Genius Party. I'd have to say a good portion of them were lost on me because of the lack of subtitles but Happy Machine was great. Same director as Kaiba, Masaaki Yuasa.

Can't wait for Genius Party 2 to get a release.

Hah! No wonder it reminded me so much of Kaiba. I think that and Shanghai Dragon were my faves but mention has to go to the title clip Genius Party as well for just being so bizarre.

Wish someone would come up with a definitve group for Xam'd. All the random anonymous ones are annoying.
