Personally I think there'll be plenty of groups interested in doing Haruhi 2 so that shouldn't be a problem. Same with Lucky Star and Clannad. As for Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, your best bet is probably to pick up the subs from the assorted groups that finished off that series some time ago. It's what I did on the off chance that a.f.k. wouldn't finish. No idea on the quality though since I'm still at the midway point in season 1 because it was another show that I left hanging to watch newer stuff. It's all on lolipower so should be fairly easy to get now.

I can comment on the anonymous subbers for the second series; for the first 3 episodes from where a.f.k dropped it, it's fairly basic subbing with limited to no translation on things like signs and that. For the rest of the series, a rather impressive random subber picked up the series and dia very nice job and doing the last 4-5 episodes including things like sign translations.

All in all, it's watchable until a.f.k's version appears for archiving purposes. ;)

Jeff, Oh that's good to know about Zoku subs; I saw that [anon] started subbing it and mentally filed those subs under "massive rolleyes". Might check it out if I ever get the urge, but not right now because I just started downloading Black Lagoon (ooh!)

Zapp, the enterthegame/rizon fansubbing split you mentioned made me lol. I think I have more channels bookmarked in rizon, I must be a bad person! I can only think of Triad, Solar and a.f.k. who are on enterthegame anyway...

As for future KyoAni subs, I'd like a.f.k. to sub them since I really like the translations, but I suppose plenty of other capable groups will pick them up, as you say, and if Haruhi is broadcast in HD, I'd like to have them in HD, which I doubt a.f.k. would do, judging by their dislike of mkv formatting and such.

Well. I'm counting on it being fairly easy to rip. I very rarely put money down for anime (or TV shows for that matter) without having sampled them beforehand.

Slayers is pretty cool. I spent most of yesterday burning it to disc for other people and the rest of the timefaffing about on the forums with all the E3-conference related nonsense that was going on.

I swear the internet is going out of its way to get me to download more anime then I currently have time for again. Luckily I'm only downloading torrent files for later use, and not the content itself, otherwise I'd be downloading Angel Heart right now (The direct sequal to City Hunter) which is 50eps (47 have been subbed)

Don't remind me :P

I started watching Angel Heart a few years ago when the subs were more regular and that got me interested in its predecessor, which I've managed to acquire too. I also decided to wait for the series to be completely subbed before finishing off the rest of it so I'm stalled somewhere around episode 21. Then there's the old classic adaptations of Rumiko Takahashi's manga which equates to somewhere in the region of 300-400 episodes to watch. And that's just old stuff.

I'm also loving Slayers at the moment. The characters and their actions seem to be well thought out and explained. I guess part of that is to be expected seen as it's adapted from light novels (?) which usually tend to have the higher quality adaptations along with them (although there are exceptions). I'm also finding it quite funny too. I suppose it'll get more serious later on so there'll be less of that. I'm also enjoying the interactions between the characters. Lina's a great main character and the rest of them have yet to annoy me either. Good stuff indeed.
