The YHBT version are their trolls usually. Unless something changed for that version and/or you wanted to watch that.

Well, it starts for You Have Been Trolled, so I guess he probably has been :)

So next we we can expect you to start watching Japanese baseball?

After watching a couple more eps of Geass (13+14), I'm now of the opinion that the show has more clamp influence to it then just the character designs. After posting that the shot from a recent episode looked like it could have been from X Tv, I realised that Suzuku, Lelouch and his sister are more like Kamui, Fuma and whatsherface then first appeared. Take out the mechs

and it's probably more like X then isn't. In fact it seems Clamp proposed a few ideas during development, which would explain a lot.

Oh and I'm still not sure sure why I'm watching it  I thought the end of ep 13 was going to change all that

where Shirley finds out about Zero

but episode 14 appered to piss that up the wall with no remorse. Seriously I think the only reason I've not dropped this show is because of this thread (and to a lesser degree the fact it has a new season). I dropped Cowboy bebop like a bad habit within 8episodes on TWO seperate occasions because that didn't grab my attention either, yet I find myself undecisive about this. Can anyone convince me this show is going to improve before the end of the first series?

I don't remember reading about any further Clamp involvement in the series. I remember it because people were saying it was a Clamp show at the time and the standard response seemed to be that their only involvement in it was the character designs.

Geass has now been nuked from my hard drive. I feel so much better now :P

After taking a look at what I have available to me, I've decided to go with watching an arc of One Piece. Just a short one as I'm upto the 10ep G-8 arc. After that is up for debate. Plenty of stuff, it's just tough deciding what to pick!

I get the impression Dandy loves Shounen

It didn't do anything for me, and as I said I gave it a couple of chances. Didn't see the fuss at all. I like a few shounen shows yeah, but it's not as if I go looking for them.

Just watch it. It only gets great later on! You've got similar tastes to me and I felt the same. It didn't grab me at all in the beginning. At the end I was in luurve.

And according to a post on animesuki, the entire thing was the work of one guy.

And episode 4's production was fantastic - it's been mentioned on WEB Anime Style, but this was an amazing one-man feat. There's been many instances of one guy doing all the key animation for one episode, like Tetsuya Takeuchi's episode 7 of Honey and Clover, but in this episode we have one guy doing the script, storyboard, direction, key animation AND in-between animation.

I don't claim to know that much but it's the first time I've ever heard of ONE guy doing ALL the drawings in the episode (aside from teh background paintings). Apparently it was 5000 drawings, and he finished the episode in 9 months. It's just unbelievable.

Now that you have no excuse to not remember this amazing man's name, it's Michio Mihara. It's also really obvious it's his episode right from the beginning, some of the movements were exactly like those from his other one-man episode on episode 12 of Kemonozume.

If shows don't grab me I don't see the point in forcing myself to watch them till it does. Geass was an exception due to people on here, usually I'd have dumped it in half the time and not constantly been questioning continuing over ditching. If I'm not into a show after 8 episodes, it just seems pointless to continue. It's rare for me to ditch a show due to lack of interest, most of my dropped shows are down to losing where I was in the series (FMA and Maison Ikkoku spring to mind).

My thoughts exactly. It'll certainly be a name I'll remember that's for sure.

I thought it looked a bit different this week now I know why. An amazing feat though.

Edit: For bibly and possibly imp? New series of Nodame Cantabile confirmed.

Watched the new Evangelion movie the past week or so. I'm probably crazy in that I think it's better than the equivalent episodes. They cut that annoying Shinji episode where he has sulks and runs away down to about 4 minutes ;)

edit: I definately think it's a sequel to the original in a way, but a remake at the same time.

Hmm, I really gotta get ahold of this once I'm back from university and draconian usage caps.

Is there any specifici reason why all the new fansub groups use .mkv files? My dvd player can play .avi files which makes watching anime much more enjoyable. I hate sitting at my computer watching them. Alternatively, does anyone know an easy way to convert them to .avi?

Handles the subs, .264 and dual sound tracks better than AVI.

Yeah. That's one of the reasons. The added bonus of using softsubs is that if there's a mistake found in the subs then it can be corrected with the minimal of fuss usually. You just need to remux the mkv with the newer more error-free script, whereas with hardsubbing it'd mean having to wait for another encode to be finished which could take any length of time to complete. There's all this other fancy stuff that people are starting to use now as well such as segment linking and stuff which can save space that can be used to make the encodes look nicer. e.g. rather than having the opening and ending songs encoded in with each episode you can have it so that they are separate files and they play automagically as if they were encoded within the actual episode file when you click on it.
