Go Sukazu!

It was great seeing Lelouch lose like that.

YES!

A pondering;

I wouldn't at all be surprised if the series further emulated Death Note and had Lelouch die after his victory. I certainly don't think he can win unharmed anyway.

EDIT: I just watched Kyouran Kazoku Nikki and I think it made my brain a splode.

It's quite good but she's still not as fast as Excel talking. I remember hearing that when they tried to dub her for America, the actress attempted to copy the speed and pitch of the voice. After 1 episode she had to leave because she'd damaged her voice. :(

but has anyone actually watched a subbed version of Soul Eater yet?

Yes. It was obvious what was going to happen in the end, but I suppose it did have to happen for the series to exist. So from here on out it should be good.

And on a similar vein, have an unconfirmed report about the Geass leak:

"829 Name:Anonymous of the Valley of the Wind@Situation at the Situation Board [sage] Date:2008/04/15(火) 20:37:49 ID:8mnOgjX6

Just now, one member of the staff was arrested.

At tomorrow’s emergency meeting, they will decide to suspend the broadcasting of episode 3. To deal with the situation from here on out, they will decide either to push up the broadcast of episode 4, or wait two weeks to remake a part of episode three (presumably the part that was leaked).

The director informed all the cast and staff."

It was more like half the series, but yeah they used to different va's. Kotono Mituishi just did a crazy job on the original, no one was ever going to be able to duplicate it in english

WTF?

Why can't they just broadcast it as planned?

Because you'll then have whining cunts going "Zomg we saw this a week ago, give us new stuff please". Not even sure how you could change what was revealed anyway from what I understand. Meh, we'll see tomorrow I guess.

Or maybe it'll be the exact same only they'll add this image at the end:

Just watched the first episode of Nabari no Ou, I have to say I'm quite impressed, by the animation and artwork at least; I suppose time will tell how the characters and plot are. Probably my favourite OP music of the season too. Modern day ninjas = cool. J.C. Staff = awesome. Subs by ainex were a bit dodgy in places though.

I'm downloading the Rumbel version of Soul Eater now... hope it's okay!

Veoh is cock compared to the sadly dead stage6.

True, but when I'm at Uni, Veoh.com is a godsend for stuff like Gundam 00 & The Ultimate Fighter. It's either that, or pay for Rapidshare, and I'm too cheap for that kinda nonsense.

Hmm, been watching a few episodes of the new season; thought I'd just write some quick impressions:

Special A ep 2 - gash. Just really unfunny. May drop it if the next episode is as bad.

Nabari no Ou ep 2 - okay, but nothing much happened. It's still probably my current favourite since I really dig the art style.

Soul Eater ep 1 - I was expecting a bit more to be honest. The animation and art style is lovely, but there seemed to be a special something missing which didn't quite hook me. I'll watch more of it though.

You have a thing for I'm-not-a-trap-but-goddamn-I'm-trying Miharu? Okay. :P

Possibly down to the fairly standard shonen start it has. The manga at the start is fairly slow and non-moving due to the normal character introduction stuff but once they get to some of the stuff hinted in the OP, it gets quite enjoyable.

I thought the ending, aka the guy with blue hair was pretty cool. Especially the music there. Are subs out for ep 2 yet? (Can't watch any anime since i'm visiting my brother at Man. Uni)

Black Star. Irritating but does occasionally do some funny stuff. It's all about Death the Kidd though.

 I meant the background art really, but the character designs are fairly cool, if a little shoujo in style. I don't really mind Miharu, reminds me of Ouran! :P

So, what's happening with the next Geass and the Soul Eater heroine's VA? I remember someone saying her agency has disappeared or something...

Next geass is going ahead as planned. Apparently the leak was an accident or something.

Not heard anything regarding Maka's VA though. Far as I know, she's still going on with the series.

I saw a Manga exhibition in Manchester city centre today after stumbling across it. Didn't stay too long, since my brother hates anime/manga, but it was pretty lolz. Had the history of manga, ie stuff from 1850, Astroboy, also had some anime, like some Gundam pieces, some Ghost in the Shell, Afro Samurai... also had an "18+ section" which was basicall ecchi/hentai. There was a section entitles "why men like bitches".

You all need to go and watch Sword of the stranger. BONES' latest movie production. Fantastic visuals and animation, lovely musical score and some good old fashioned bloodshed.

I can find an idPRO avi and a Q-R softsub, what do you recommend?

I watched with the softsub that was timed to the [q-r] raw. It might be the same sub as the idpro one (I'm not sure) just synced to the [q-r] raw, and you can't go wrong with that. They're not the best subs but perfectly serviceable. Alternatively I've found out that ureshii and yoroshiku are apparently doing a joint on it and releasing in HD flavours too (the one on tosho is a dvd rip so you might want to wait for the blu-ray rips).
