Don't laugh. I realise they're doing it because traditionally manga runs from the back to the front (or rather, the Japanese pages are like that - I have studied Japanese). It was cool in the Sgt Frog manga I recently finished. But manga books are a linear read, where you start at the beginning and finish at the end. It's not too unpleasant for the brain to work like that.

To put it in a magazine IS weird, since as a native English reader my magazine flicking habits have a certain formula to them, based around the concept of starting on the left and then going wherever. No one reads a mag from cover to cover, so beyond a gimmick, it is odd, and very alien.

At least, I'm fairly sure it was a reverse order mag, it was in a bag... So I'm not 100% certain.

Uhm, it's usually apparent from the first few minutes that it's a recap episode, still, just increases the anticipation before Episode 17...

On my part, can't wait for Geass's second season, having finished the season a few weeks ago, and I'm enjoying Clannad and Hayate no Gotoku still! I've basically caught up with both, amazing scenes.

Also, second episode of the Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien OVA thing has been released, only a month or so after the last one admittedly... but still looking forward to see where it goes.

No idea if imp or Piro's still watching it (more people need to use MAL for a rllmuk list ffs) but it's probably best to put it here for all; there's going to be a second series of Clannad so if you think it ends a bit abruptly at 23 eps then that's why. If you don't want it ruined, for the love of god don't watch the Clannad movie floating around. As well as being inferior to the series, it also gives away the next part of the series.

I haven't actually watched an episode of Clannad yet - I was waiting until it ended to marathon it, although now I don't have time, because I spend 90% of my waking time in the sodding library. Also I was downloading the afk versions. What happened to afk?! They've not released anything in ages.

Also, now that Clannad has finished, does that mean it's Haruhi2 time?

EDIT: I actually liked the GL recaps. And they weren't too bad in Geass either. I'm weird, aren't I...

The only recap I've ever tolerated was the one in Gundam 00 - it was only half of the episode, and there was a fair bit of plot development inbetween the clips anyway. Gundam SEED and Destiny were definitely the worst for recaps/flashbacks though.

a.f.k are having problems. The only subber and 90% of afk wants to release more Clannad but the other people that help him release it and whatever want him to focus on zoku sayonara zetsubou sensei instead due to there already being 2, faster groups working on Clannad. Last I heard everyone was sulking or something.

As for Haruhi 2, it's possible an announcement will be made in the next few days since it's the Tokyo Anime Fair at the moment. I'm thinking a possible summer release. If it exists at all. I just want book 10 to be fucking released. The only one with a bloody cliffhanger in the entire series. :lol:

New information for Gurren-Lagann's movie from Megami Magazine:

-Gainax apologizes to Megami because the movie will focus a whole lot more on the male characters. Nia will have the only prominent female role in the film, Yoko and the three sisters will be more on the line of secondary characters.

Also Jack, did you make sure you watched the DVD version of episode 6 of GL? Also, make sure you watch the DVD versions of 25, 26, and 27. They are far superior due to the TV versions, they have no ghosting, so you can actually see what the fuck is going on, and key scenes have been redone for the better. For example,

Yoko crying in episode 25 and Simon turning into STARLock have been improved, along with all the fighting in episode 27.

The end of Gurren Lagann episode 21, it always brings a massive smile to my face. It's pretty much the definition of epic.

Especially after 3 or so depressing episodes, it's like some kind of god like scene. Yes, I love it also.

"The path between Human and Beast, intertwine to create the path of the spiral! Piercing destiny as yesterday's enemies, creating a new path to the future with these hands! Union of Fate! Gurren-Lagann! WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK WE ARE?!"

Well considering their personalities it's not that surprising. They sort of explained why it ended like that in 23. If they'd used the full 24 episodes instead of shortening it down to 23 and a dvd only episode I reckon it would have been a bit better.

I can't really hate Nagisa since I have a thing for her VA. :(

There's 2 different things (I think). 1 is the gurren lagann movies(There's 2 announced so far) and the other is a mystery new GL project or something. There's supposed to be 6, 3 minute shorts by different people being shown or something.

Animesuki might explain it better than I.

Finally got round to watching this and am on the second episode. Brilliant. This is so much better than FMP.

Blimey, I wrote that post over two months ago. All the same, good stuff that you gave it enough of a chance to watch Fumoffu. It only gets better from the second episode on!
