anyone started on the persona series yet?? I want this to be good, but have the sneaking suspicion it wont be.

I'm watching it. I don't know what to say. There's storyline somewhere but they're trying to keep as much of it a mystery as possible so nothing is really making much sense other than the sometimes silly school conversations stuff. If they actually had some clear kind of plot it'd be better.

WTF happened to the original character art style?? so generic :(

I think it's time you suit up, Jack. You might be needing your gundam soon.

So what would you all recommend to an anime almost-virgin who has just found www.pisoga.com, and who has seen hardly anything on it before?

Bear in mind I like most sci-fi/horror stuff, good storylines and am not so bothered about cutesy/funny anime.

First I'd say 'get on the lol-train' as there are a lot of enjoyable comedies out there!

Anyway, I prescribe a triple threat of: Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop and Baccano!

Or if you like big robots: Code Geass and GURRRRREEEENNN LAGGGGGAAAAANNNN.

I've already watched some Cowboy Bebop and I thought it was ok but I didn't love it. Samurai Champloo looks good.

I watched the first episode of Gilgamesh before I got any replies to this thread, purely because I like mythology and it sounded interesting and mythological from its write-up on wikipedia. Is that worth getting into?

I do like big robots. A long time ago I watched Neon Genesis Evangelion and The Guyver. I've also seen a lot of Dragon Ball Z, Serial Experiments Lain, and most of the old Manga video favourites (Akira, Legend of the Overfiend, Fist of the North Star - loved them all at the time but they seem pretty crappy these days) that were all that was really around when I was into anime.

Based on that has anyone got any other recommendations ?

Steady on, it's only 4 ova's/1 movie. Good yes, but hardly all you'll ever need.

On a semi related note, I found the backups I made of the Macross Tv boxsets a few years ago. I'll be watching those in a few weeks! MAKUROSU 70's/80's anime openings ftw

Yes, because I was clearly being 100% serious.

Macross Plus is a great addition to most Anime collections. Also try out Trigun if you can, I know it's a bit hit and miss for most, but I love it. Ninja Scroll as well.

I haven't watched any anime in a couple of years now, what anime is as good as deathnote or gungrave?

Gurren Lagann

Good Lord... I just saw the end of Code Geass... shame that

Kallen couldn't have just shot Suzaku in the back straightaway, silly girl. Also, considering Suzaku's superior military training it seems likely that he'll kill Lelouch, unless his emotional state really messes him up that badly.

Looking forward to the sequel, until then, time to catch up with Hayate no Gotoku and Clannad.
