Ha! Sounds like I got a good haul then! See, now I'm just intrigued to see what could possibly be deemed as "impossibly bad". Not too concerned, think CEX will probably pay me more per DVD than I paid.

It's total nonsensical bullshit. The plot is all over the place, the characters are so fucking rubbish you'll want to cry, and it needs repeatedly stabbed in the face.

What fansub group should I go with for Bamboo Blade? Anyone got a link to a good torrent with good quality episodes?

I use Huzzah-Doremi. No idea how they are for translation accuracy but they're neat, clean subs. They're 2 episodes behind the latest release but I haven't tried the other group STAR.

Evangelion 1.0 fansubs just out on torrent (well, the 24th anyway). Fansubbed by NERV. Yes, the subbing is indeed on the camera rip of the movie.

Worth a shot you reckon?

Interesting that I find this out whilst listening to the first soundtrack for the series. Download a go-go. Well, it will be when I get a link

Just been watching a couple of the new series;

Spice and Wolf's pretty interesting. I checked on Wikipedia and yep, I thought I recognised them; the three main characters from the first episode did voices in Code Geass as well! I really like the art style, it looks like a mix between Darker than Black and Sola. Good start though, likable cast, interesting premise. I'd like to see what plot will emerge from it.

H2O on the other hand looks horrible; it already looks dated by about ten years. I thought I'd check it out since Ureshii and Froth-Bite took it on, and I've enjoyed a couple of shows that they've picked up, but it seems pretty poor to be honest. Really dull harem show with all the stereotypes that come with it. Feh. I checked and it's by the same company that did Mushi-shi. I'm almost scared to watch that now.

I was just thinking about Darker than Black, Gurren Lagann and Code Geass and wondering where this season's must watch stylish action anime is... I suppose it's Persona 3: Trinity Soul then? I'd like to watch this, but I'd rather play the game first. Speaking of Code Geass though; I wish someone would do the right thing and sub the DVD Magazines.

p.s. are shinsen subs any good? They're the only group who've picked up Hakaba Kitaro, which looks pretty interesting.

Shigofumi up next, I think.

What is coming out this season? I'm watching Spice and Wolf as well, thought it was a nice show so far.

Also, is it true that a main in Bamboo Blade has the seiyuu of Kamina?

Yes he does and it goes perfectly with the character. There's also Tomoyo and (later) Nagisa from Clannad doing some voices too.

If you mean whats out in the winter season:

Rosario to Vampire: Fan service harem nonsense involving monster people. Expect more panty shots than you can shake a stick at. Not that stick, put it away.

H20:Footprints in the sand: Another harem show but this is basically rubbish. Dodgy animation, wierd story and jut overall not very amazing.

Hatenkou Yuugi: Girl wanders with 2 blokes doing stuff. Dull after one episode. Chick program.

Persona - Trinity Soul: Based 10 years after Persona 3 I think. No idea what the story is other than it involves wierd monstery soul things. Quite interesting.

True Tears: Another harem but without excessive fan-service. Nice looking animation and some interesting if odd characters.

Shigofumi: Dark series about some girl with a talking staff that delivers letters from the dead. From the episode I've seen, very good.

They are my noble masters. Smut-tastic series involving another butler based series. First ep got a few lolz but it's a bit myeh.

Then there's the sequels of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Minami-ke and Gunslinger Girl which are all self-explanatory and Spice and Wolf which you're watching.

No idea about Hakaba Kitaro. The one shot of it I saw on anidb turned me off as well as a lack of any details about it but from the screens I saw of the first ep, it don't look too bad. Seems to be about traditional japanese folk tales or something I think.

Edit: Looking forward to spring releases more really! Some nice looking stuff.

It is? Where did you get that from? I just had a quick look now and it looks to be done by a totally different company. I get ZEXCS as producers for h2o and for mushishi a whole load of companies listed but ZEXCS aren't one of them. I know artland did or were credited for the animation work on Mushishi which I assume to be the majority of the work that goes into producing the show, and from the site I looked at ZEXCS are credited for animation work on h2o.

Oh right. Well I went to their website from that wiki link and it doesn't look like they have Mushishi listed their under their animation works. I guess wikipedia might not be wrong either, because that does say anime they were involved in, doesn't have to mean they had sole involvement or were the main ones involved. It's not unheard of for studios to farm out episodes to other studios.

h2o isn't in the same league as mushishi, not by a long shot. It's not even in the same league as other offerings in its own genre e.g. I much prefer True Tears to it.

At least it was only half a clip show. The Thrones are fucking awesome though. Can't wait to see them properly in action. Also gotta love Nina's evil Haro. :(

I suppose but they came out of nowhere and noone knows about them, I think I'm getting a bit bored of twists already...

For a clip show it wasn't that bad, they actually found a good way to explain why it was a ruddy clip show at least.

Yeah, it was way better than SEED's "Hey everyone, I'm TM Revolution and my BFF Fukuda gives me work on this show! Listen to my effeminate boy band voice while I slowly go over what you've seen many times before in dozens of flashbacks each episode!"

Looking forward to seeing the Gundam Thrones in action even more, they do appear to be seriously bad ass. Also looking forward to seeing just how many more Gundam units are out there, they can't possibly have just had these three as a back up.

I think what I don't like is that it wasn't foreshadowed at all, they said something about not being allowed to use GN weapons or something in the episode before last but it was obvious that this wasn't what they were talking about because it was totally unexpected for them...

I don't understand how Celestial Being is set up as well, how the Thrones knew but the others didn't and just the way they are acting doesn't seem to make sense at the moment... :)

Torrent out on the usual suspects ;) That reminds me, the Eva 1.0 soundtrack is also on torrents but regarding the soundtrack:

there isn't really anything new in it that isn't on the first 3 OSTs anyway apart from 1 or 2 songs methinks, just some orchestral rehashing

Oh, the tracklisting:

1. L'Attaque des Anges

2. I'll Go On Lovin' Someone Else

3. Premiere Manoeuvre

4. Staggering Yet

5. Les Betes

6. Crepuscule - Tokyo III

7. Cruel Dilemme

8. The Longest Day

9. Contre Les Agressions

10. Showdown

11. Mecanisme de Defense

12. Cruel Dilemme II

13. Rei-Opus IV

14. The Longest Day II

15. Lucifer's Cry

16. Cruel Dilemme III

17. Strategie "Yashima"

18. The Longest Day III

19. Danse des Lucioles

20. Battaille Decisive

21. Angel of Doom

22. Rei-Opus V

23. Trailer Eva Special

24. EM17_Demo

25. EM21_Demo

26. Cruel Dilemme IV

No Thanatos means it's a crap OST ;)

So I watched all the episodes of Kaiji so far, and it's a brilliant show. The soundtrack is fucking amazing. That's all I can really think to say about it. I love the character designs I suppose.

Bamboo Blade, i'm on episode 12 or so. I think Tamaka is the most adorable thing i've ever seen ;)

Watched Tokyo Marble Chocolate...................BORINNNNGGGG!!

Yet another typical lame ass relationship, I couldn't see the point of it at all. Its really drivel and the punk donkey is one fugly character who serves only to make the show more interesting but utterly dull and repetitive.

I think I'm getting a bit jaded but this is all getting a bit silly with them almost losing so many times so early in the series and then still having a whole deck of aces stuffed up their sleeves...

True, but it kind of shows that they're the first 'wave' so to speak and thus aren't as badass as possible. Take SEED for example, Strike was a pretty powerful Gundam at the start of the series, but by midway, it wasn't particularly special... I assume the same will happen here, the rest of the world will start producing Gundam type weapons, and then Celestial Being will introduce 4 new Gundams for the original Meisters.

That GN Arms thing looks extremely similar to the Meteor weapons/jet pack in SEED don't you think?

Yeah but it's happened so much already on just the first gundams, it's just being silly!

and I suppose they do look like a cut down meteor pack, it looks kinda wierd the way that it's...kinda like a jaw with a gundam in the mouth :P

I hope the other factions don't make their own Gundams, that would be silly. SEED annoyed me with that, why would you copy something which is a symbol of your enemy? It'd be like US Army troops going around in those pointy German WWI hats.
