That looks like something quite special. At the very least it'll be something interesting to watch.

Liking the new Gundam OP. Next ep looks to be something quite fun like Jack said. ^_^

Edit: Just to totally crush Jack, Gundam 00 will be stopping soon. Apparently this is to make space for the second season of Code Geass. Gundam will then start up again in October.

Haven't watched any gundam, but I loved Code Geass, so it's win win for me!

That's not so bad, 'cause Code Geass is alright. It almost guarantees a recap episode in October though.

I've watched the first 4 episodes Miname-ke. They're fucking brilliant.

Hosaka and his fantasies are pure

Also, "BAD END" :D

I'd love to see the story of Code Geass done in the style of Gurren Lagann. It just feels like it needs to be done.

I would love to see everything re-done in the style of Gurren Lagann, as an experiment.

After 3 months of no releases and no news, Kaizoku have finally released a new ep of One Piece. However it's come to my attention that they are halfway through an ark. Currently I'm only at ep 179, I have everything up to 200 and im downloading 201-210. I don't really want to catch up to ep 230-odd and then have to wait ages for an ark to finish before carrying on. I need to catch up on Bleach too before my lag gets excessive on that as well and doing it between OP arcs seems a good idea

The question ultimately is if anyone has subbed from the Water7 arc onwards already ? If so I can stop at 206 or 226 at the end of an arc and get straight back into it after catching up on bleach, and not have toworry about Kaizoku's slow release schedule

Additionally, are there any good trackers/news sites with RSS feeds for fansub/ripped episodes (especially with 70s and 80s shows!)? I'm long out of the loop on these matters.

Gerusama subbed the Davy Back Fight from 207 onwards into the Water 7 arc. ADC-elites started subbing some way in to the Water 7 Arc, roughly where Gerusama stopped since ADC were faster and just as good quality wise. I can't remember which episode they started with, but their first 3 or 4 episodes had very poor translations. They stopped subbing once Vegapunk started near the end of the Water 7 arc as they did everything faster and in HD. Since one of the guys left Vegapunk, they've been really slow for the last seven or eight episodes. SO now Instantz are the fastest OP guys, but their translations and fonts are pretty horrible.

I think K-F are probably still the best guys because of their consistency and the fact they work from DVD rips, but yeah, they're obviously miles behind.

I'll have to stick with K-F then. I'm not going to put up with rubbish translations

Oh, the other guys are all fine with translations. It's just a few episodes of ADC when they first started up (and Gerusama subbed those episodes too, so don't worry about them). It might be tricky getting hold of them though, since Vegapunk is the only group still subbing. Slowly. Instantz have only been subbing the last few months, so you won't have to worry about them for a while since Vegapunk have subbed everything up to the current arc, which has only just started.

I'll look into it, cheers guys.

In other news I've started downloading Lupin III again. The first series ('71) is easy enough to find as it was fansubbed when Geneon/Pioneer licensed the second series and not the first. I've only seen 15 of the 23 eps so far (all that was available at the time). The series is notable for having Hayao Miyazaki directing several of the episodes. The second series ('77) is a much more complex matter as its 150 odd episodes and Geoneon only bothered with a dozen or so volumes. They certainly won't release any more as iirc they have shut thweir US branch and volume 15 was released 18months ago. As such theres either only 40 odd or 79 episodes available with "proper" subs (ive only got a torrent for 43eps). Fansubs for the second series don't seem to exist, and so HK dvds are the only way to get the rest. Afaik the first series is ripped from those, but with fansubs and not rubbish hk subs. There is certainly no english version of the 3rd series.

As for another 70s show, I see Live-Evil have recently subbed ep24 of Galaxy Express 999. Not bad seeing as they stated it 3 or 4 years ago :(

Ah sorry, yes I did notice that earlier but as with all fansubs of classic shows, it had a few eps done then all quiet on the western front (nothing for 3 months and the groups work on Detective Conan is far from comprehensive as they skipped arcs to catch up). Not that I see the point of subbing the 3rd series when there are at least 70eps of series 2 that need doing

It really irritates me that people start hard to find shows then stop weeks later, or do a Live evil and sub one a month (if that!) when there are 100+ eps. Theres just no point whatching them when the subbing group shows no commitement. The american companys simply won't take the risk, especially with one company shutting down seemingly overnight, and ADV starting to cut costs. I'm still amazed they put out City Hunter on dvd, and that was years ago (not a small project given it's 26 discs over 6 boxsets)

Finished Minami-ke. Excellent.

Can anyone tell me who is subbing the second season? (And preferably, which fansub group to go with)

There's only been 1 episode subbed of the new series at the moment done by 2 groups; GC and X_X. Only seen the gc version but it's alright enough. No op, ed or preview translation and the dialogue is a bit lazy in some placesbut it's understandable enough.

Season for you to look out for Piro since it seems to be your type is Bamboo Blade.

Looks interesting, I'll watch the first episode some time :)

Watched Haibane Renmai over the last 2 nights and quite enjoyed it, even if someone did post a spoiler the day it came in the post. Though it still ended a bit different from what I expected from the spoiler. I like how some questions had their answers implied rather than simply stated in the story.

Though I would still like to have at least got a glimpse of the outside.

Did anybody catch the ADV sale last week? Had quite a lot of single DVD's for £1 or £2 each. Needless to say I went on a bit of a spending frenzy on lots of anime series I've never heard of. Think they've ended the sale now. They had Azumanga Daioh (sold out when I got there) and Noir, but pretty much everything else was unheard of to me. Got full series of DNAngel, Madlax and Gilgamesh. Any of those any good?

Oh dear.

If there was ever a show I felt robbed me of essential lifeforce and left me a withered, hateful husk of a man, then it'd be Oh! My Goddess.

DNAngel had much the same effect. It is impossibly bad.

Madlax is from the same useless cunt who brought us Noir.
