It's also just a camera rip, I wonder how good the quality is considering most if not all camera rips are pretty shoddy?

The cam rip of the simpsons movie I saw last year was flawless for 95% of the movie, with only minor issues for the remainder. Certainly theres the likelyhood of it being rubbish, but it's not been pre-ordained.

Wanted to re-watch Gankutsuou but can't find my cd holder case thing with it in.

Watching a bit of Honey and Clover which I saw a few episodes in the uni's Anime soc. Sweet

Give H&C a bit of time and it'll really hook you in. :o

I've been watching a lot of Keroro Gunso recently. ;)

Here's a snapshop of the beginning of evangelion 1.0 to show you the quality of the camera rip, no spoilers in the picture:

Not too good, looks like the un-remastered version of nge. One of the perks of evangelion 1.0 for me was how good the visuals would look. Hmm...I think i'll wait for the DVD rip considering the storyline

would be pretty much the same anyway.

Guys, I fancy getting back into watching series of anime, and wondering if you could help me with a few recommendations.

What i've seen;

Neon Genesis Evangelion

Lain: Serial Experiments

Haibane Renmei

Wolf's Rain

Niea_7

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex

Love Hina

Cowboy Bebop

I think i'd prefer something quite lighthearted, and amusing. Not too strenuous on the old noggin', and easy to follow. Not overly dumb, mind. If there's action, I like over the top Bebop style comical action - nothing that takes itself too seriously. If nothing comes to mind, just stuff that's generally considered brilliant and must-see will do fine. :P

I see it comes down to me to suggest the OBVIOUSLY BEST choice in this scenario:

Full Metal Panic! (You all knew it was coming)

It's "lighthearted, and amusing", "easy to follow", with over the top Bebop style comical action, it's also generally considered brilliant (I am henceforth declaring it so) and it's certainly a must-see!

You even get amazing follow-up in the form of sequels:

Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu

and

Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid

Nobody will disagree with me, NOBODY *Rawr*!

In all seriousness though, as much as I love the series it really does fit your description well.

Gurren Lagann. It's quite lighthearted, it's a really fun anime to watch. It's got a fair amount of comedy in it, especially the earlier episodes before it becomes more serious (Kamina is fucking hilarious). It's generally regarded as awesome, and most people like it.

Anyone seen Clannad 14 yet? Episode lacked Sunohara but was still average for a Clannad episode.

Genshiken! One of the best out there. Very laidback, easy to follow (well apart from the references to other anime), great to kick back with and relax after a day's hard work. There isn't much of a storyline, but the characters and the anime itself is just well crafted.

Honey and Clover is of a similar calibre of quality, perhaps even more so. It's a romance-comedy and is also lighthearted and easy to follow.

Both are "chilling out anime" I suppose

I'd recommend Samurai Champloo to Number 28. It's beautifully drawn and animated, has excellent fight scenes (from the same Director as Bebop, so that won't come as a surprise) and has its humorous moments too. Most episodes are self contained like Bebop, but it does have an overarching plot. And a zombie episode.

In a completely unrelated matter: I didn't think Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei could get any more ridiculous... boy was I wrong. Loved the amount of Sugita in the episode as the old friend and the artist though.

This is the show's real beauty. Once you get to the end it all comes full circle and you can really appreciate why it's all self contained.

The bit at the end where they all part ways after admitting they are truly friends brings me close to a tear in the eye. After all they went through it's good to know that they finally admit they are friends and theres a possibilty they will meet again.

I wish they'd make a movie.

Still; IT'S TWO TO ONE NOW BIBLY!
