Blimey, just how many people are making Naruto these day? The credits list Bones, Gonzo, Gainax and Production IG all in a row. Gainax pop up reasonably often (they were contributing during the exam arc if not sooner), but the rest are news to me

I saw Gainax and was perplexed, I never knew studio's collaborated, I thought it was all Studio Pierrot.

Anyway, the latest Naruto episode had good art and animation, but the pace and screenplay were all lacking as usual

I first noticed them during the Viva Rock ending theme credits. I think they either contribute or handle the 3d stuff the show sometimes uses. Certainly theres been a bit of fancy animation recently, which explains Production IG and Gonzo

From what I gather the

sasuke

retrival arc will finish in the states in a few weeks, so the yanks have a year or two of filler to watch soon

I thought they would be missing most of the fillers, I think I heard something like that anyway.

I didn't really like Gunslinger Girl. Watched the first 3 episodes then stopped. It was just... boring.

It's painful! The main character is quite possibley the biggest bastard that ever existed ever and I've only seen 2 eps. I did however look at the game cg endings for it though. Seems no matter which way they went it turns into a bit of a violent Higurashi-fest. :(

Hm. The series certainly kept my interest. The Higurashi-fest as you put it doesn't even happen until the very last episode, and I think the series does a great job of making you feel a certain way towards each character. And youtube etc does contain translation of the animated endings for the game, not all end badly, in fact some are nice, some are just plain creepy! Double pregnancy anyone?

Just finished watching Haibane Renmei recenty, after only seeing the first dvd over the years. Great stuff!

Yay! I had the pleasure of watching this at the local anime society thing, was a lovely show!

So anyone watched any more new series yet? Persona - Trinity Soul is worth a look, though it seems to be a slow start. Nice little references to Persona 3 in there though. Rosario+Vampire seems to be a typical harem show, with added brief action scenes, but the main character is just so :( I have to watch more!

I could probably bear Rosario + Vampire a lot more if it wasn't a panty shot every 3 seconds. Persona's looking really good with a decent enough storyline going through it. As for everything else;

Spice and Wolf: Bit too much pointless nakedness in the first ep but it's holding onto it's storyline at least. I still think they chose the voices wrong but myeh.

True Tears: Nice animation, story's a bit..wierd but bearable enough to watch.

H20: Started off well but quickly went a bit rubbish with glossing over major details and nonsensical storyline twisits.

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei 2: More of the same but better and nicer looking.

They are my noble masters: Hayate no Gotoku done with smut. I have no idea why I sort of like this but I do. :(

Hatenkou Yugi: Wierdly fast paced but interesting enough with some quite funny lines. First episode glosses over a couple of things quite quickly for no reason.

And there's still another 2 or 3 series to come.

Edit:

For Fans of Death Note, I've just come across this rather amusing gif. Do not watch if you haven't finished the series since it's a giant spoiler of the last episode.

Go go Light.

Just finished Midori No Hibi. I feel all  inside now.

Is that Midori days? The outtakes are rather funny, but nothing beats the legendary Berserk ones. Funny series

I advisee Gankutsuou to anyone who hasn't seen it yet, its edge of your seat after every episode.

I think I'm going to watch it fully again from this week.

Gankutsuou is the story of The Count of Monte Cristo set in the future with space travel and aliens, but still keeps to the story very well. Its mainly kept to the viewpoint of Albert, the son of the main man the Count wants revenge upon, and the Count himself. The style is very striking (the first episode gives me a headache) using a new photoshop tool which I have seen other anime use recently. You do get used to it though, it is eye popping at times. The plot and twists really leave cliff hangers from the middle onwards.

Drama, with scifi and I guess romance too.

Amazing series, seriously one of the best series ever made. Now that Le Chevalion was crap.

Tokyo Marble Chocolate OVA: Quite simply this: Watch it! It's basically the story of a day in the life of a couple told from each other's perspective with one episode being what happens to the girl and the other what happens to the guy. At time of this post, I've only seen the girl's perspective so far but it's amazing. Beautiful art style, fantastic music and a lovely simple, short story that's just fantastic. Think of 5cm per second and it's similar to the first part of that. Just

Plus it has a mini donkey with a mohawk! YEAH! :)

Sounds amazing... but if I downloaded it I'd be exceeding my paltry download cap for today (I've got another 170MB left from 400MB total), bah, I'll have to try and get it tomorrow.

Fargal is going to spurt one, Evangelion movie is out, albeit raw copy - looks good but damm u Shinji!

It's also just a camera rip, I wonder how good the quality is considering most if not all camera rips are pretty shoddy? I was also under the impression that they weren't going to sub Evangelion 1.0 until a DVD quality rip becomes available?

Oh well, hopefully some speedsubbers like Dattebayo get on the camera rip.

Definitely. Although it's almost heart-wrenchingly unbearable to watch at times.

This, especially when you limit yourself to how many episodes you watch on one sitting. I was so glued one day I watched a 3rd of the series for a whole day.

Loving the donkey, wanting a plushie !
