You'll find me and Mr. Jeff have at least been extolling its virtues recently.

Indeed. It's one of the few series that I'd actually be willing to murder someone for just to get a second series. How I'd then watch the second series in prison would prove a challenge though.

Edit: Third series of Higurashi! Woo! Hopefully, they'll go back to it's season one stylings rather than the second series.

Oh god, yes! That would be brilliant (not the going to prison part, mind). And it's not like there's a lack of material for them to animate.

Nice to hear about another higurashi season. Perhaps now I'll get started on season 2... Yeah... right. Too much stuff as it is, Genshiken and Dennou Coil catch up next :D

Also been reading that To Love-Ru is getting animated. It seemed to be quite a popular manga in some of the internet circles I'm in. Perhaps now is a good time to check it out and see what it's like...

It's a fairly typical harem based comedy series really. Only with inclusion of an alien with a tail that keeps getting naked. Not entirely bad but I wouldn't rate it as high as say, Gurren-Lagann or Mushi-shi. Still, they may make amazing for the series so who knows. I'm just glad there's going to be a 2nd xxxHOLiC series this year. :P

Intriguing news on new Haruhi series. Bit of a possible spoiler in this so I'll tag it. Feel free to moan at me if you don't think it's one :P ;

The official Japanese website for The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya television anime series has announced further details about the franchise's next anime project. In the spirit of the first anime series and the Haruhi Suzumiya science fiction comedy light novels that spawned the franchise, the announcement was made in a roundabout, cryptic manner.

On Tuesday, the site "disappeared" and began displaying a false error message that read, "The page cannot be found." A second message then appears over the first message; it states that a computer program is starting up and prompts the user for a password. If the user enters "K," "N," "S," "A," and "K" (the initials of the family names of the members of SOS brigade, the main characters in the series) into the password fields and selects the radio button to the right, a fake xterm terminal session opens. A series of messages from "YUKI.N" confirms that the key to the "emergency escape program" has been found and asks for a final confirmation before starting the program. If the user hits the enter key, a new page opens that shows the character Yuki and lists the production credits of the new series.

The page reveals that the previously announced second anime season of Haruhi Suzumiya has been "cancelled" and replaced with a new animation project. Yasuhiro Takemoto (Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid, Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu, Lucky Star) will direct the new project, and Kyoto Animation will still be animating as it did for the first anime project. As in the previous anime project, the fictional "leader" of the new anime project is the character Haruhi Suzumiya herself.

The "disappearance" of the website on December 18 at 4:00 a.m. (Japan Standard Time) is a reference to the pivotal date in The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, the fourth volume in the light novel series and an apparent indication of which novel plot the new anime project will adapt.

Bandai Entertainment finished its English-language release of the first anime project in November.

It doesn't rate at all, to me.

All anime that do the stopping-at-a-certain-point thing aren't worth shit, in my opinion.

They've hacked out Skullknight (who is essential to the entire story) and Puck (who's not so essential, but can be amusing) in an attempt to make it stand alone, but it doesn't work one bit.

To be fair, what little part of the story that they do accurately, they do quite well. Unfortunately, like Meh says, they miss out a couple of the major characters and basically butcher the plot which follows on from the series. If only we didn't have to wait another 20 years for the series to be finished. :P

Lies! It's got more of the gloriously insane Hallelujah, new toys for Kyrios, Graham dropping Char's lines from the old series, and a hundred-Haro repair team. AWESOMES

What I wanted to see was

Allelujah completely flip, have Hallelujah take control and just destroy the entire colony. Not have a bit of a debate, blow up the building, leave and get drunk.

No episode of Clannad this week?

It's been on tosho since 10 this morning.

Edit:

What an ep though. Filled with everything;

Nearly hurt myself laughing with the Fuuko crane scene. :angry: Interesting turn of events with Kotomi though.

Edit 2: Just finished off Dennou Coil. What a great series. A reasonabley good explanation to the ending as well. Couple of loose ends but they seem to sorta tie them up well too.

FUCK YES!...

... except there's nothing out there.

Fucksakes, Cack.

There are loads of sites hosting the first episode. Anyway, it's pretty damn good and a lot more like the original show but with far shinier animation. The characters are more mature for the most part too and the narrative looks to be more complex than previous Macross outings. The mecha look great though and the VF-25 is very cool in action.

I just watched it on veoh, bloody loved it. The mecha look absolutely amazing, looking forward to the rest of this series! Hope it doesn't go a bit mentallist like Macross Zero.

Which is the best group to get Macross Frontier from then? Any HD versions out there? Also, I love how obvious that Graham in Gundam 00 "is a Char", what with the blonde hair, riffing off Char lines, custom-tuned suit, and a penchant for flying kicks.
