Bibly recomended it to me, and I saw people talking about it on various boards so I gave it a go....

I like it a lot! It's refreshing not seeing people being chopped up on screen, or giant robots flying around, or people shouting various things and clashing swords. It's a lot more peaceful than Haruhi, which can be considered the closest thing I've watched to Clannad....

Heh, there's generally not a lot of action in KyoAni's drama productions although Sunohara's constant kick destruction or some of the sword sequences from Kanon may count. If you're after similar styled series to Clannad that have finished, you may wish to look out for Air and Kanon that were done previously. :o

I suggested that immediately too. AIR was superior to Kanon in my opinion but they're both worth a watch if you enjoy that style.

As I'm halfway through watching Gurren Lagann, I'm avoiding spoilers as best I can.

It doesn't help when Piro decides to post pics like the one at the bottom of the first page of the 'Flag' thread.

Please stop it, for the sake of both my sanity and enjoyment of the series. Thanks.

My point is that it's a scene from Gurren Lagann I don't recognise but it's of what appears to be Kamina in a new pair of shades. I don't know if it constitutes much of a spoiler yet, do I? *sigh*

1) It's not a scene from Gurren Lagann

2) The flag in the background was a mockup of a new British flag that the telegraph had in one their articles that was inspired by Gurren Lagann.

Christ, I thought this topic had 32 pages originally. I'm not reading through all of that, I don't have that much spare time to discard. So I suppose I'll just start?

Anyone had exposure to Netherworld War Saga! Disgaea!? A hell of a lot irritates me about it, the pacing seems peculiarly off-kilter, a lot of the dialogue is redundant (even for anime), the animation is cat pants poor, I'm not sure whether they've kept the feel of the game cut scenes and the ending theme is ridiculous.

Things I like? The off-kilter pacing, the redundant and repeated dialogue, the bad animation, how successfully they've kept the tone of the game and the ending theme, which I've pinched from the DivX file.

Maybe I'm supposed to be drunk but this has peculiated me something frustrating so, if anyone here has bared witness to it, feel free to tell me whether it's good or not because I obviously can't make up my own mind.

Kamina is covered in tattoos, that guy isn't.

That's a bit like saying "Hey, there's more than one just Gundam Exia in Gundam 00". Or should I spoiler tag that as well?? Bloody hell, you're a sensitive lot over here aren't you? :lol:

Yep. That's how it can be around here. Go back a few pages to find some Naruto manga discussion which wasn't spoiler tagged when it was first posted. Those who only follow the anime weren't too impressed.

As I don't follow Gundam 00, I wouldn't know what you're talking about there but it might bug someone who's new to the show and not aware of Gundam history.

As for ''sensitive lot'', only when it comes to spoilers.

That's the nature of the Internet to surprise sometimes.

It's great to find out about new mangas/anime shows and discuss them here but if, like me, you're only halfway through the series, You'll want to experience the whole thing fresh without spoilers/hints/inklings about what's coming up next.

This is not an easy task at the best of times.

My previous post wasn't meant to be so personal towards you as this kind of thing has happened in this thread a fair few times already. I just didn't expect a Off Topic thread mildly related to TTGL to have a pic of an upcoming ep (or so I assume).

Maybe I'm the one at fault for not expecting it :wub: .

I can fully sympathise with you for being annoyed at a spoiler - especially from a seemingly unrelated thread, but I think to a certain extent one should be expecting some spoilers for shows that have finished airing a while ago, especially for one as popular as TTGL which is still very much at the forefront of internet cultural attention. (memes, lol).

I think usually we do things fairly well in this thread, I remember having massive spoilered discussions about EVA last year, considering a lot anime forums I've seen often only stipulate spoiler tagging for the last aired episode of a program.

Anyway,

Boil the unboilable, brew the unbrewable, pour the unpourable, stir the unstirable!
