Possibly another "Berserk" effect where they hadn't finished the manga in time for the end of the anime series? Or maybe 13 episodes was all the producers were able to get for the entire series. Like I said, the manga goes a bit beyond what's shown on the tv series. If you're after more, it might be worth your while to go have a look for it.

For anyone mildly interested, it's been confirmed that Code Geass' scond season will begin in spring 2008. Also, much to Meh's overwhelming joy, it looks like there's going to be a new series of Kimi ga Nozomou Eien.

OH GOD. NO. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:) FUCK YES!

Code Geass was ridiculous at times and often cheesy but it was bloody good fun to watch. Very gripping stuff. Let's hope there's not a repeat of the fiasco from last season though.

Spring 2008 is shaping up to be a bit special. It's gonna be hard to match spring 2007 but some of the shows announced could go some way to doing that.

Man, Baccano! was crazy. Really intense. I'm surprised how well the batshit ridiculous plot really came together in the last few episodes. Some great voices and music in there as well. Oh and I loved the fight between Vino and Ladd Russo. Mentalist Psycho VS Utter Mentalist Psycho FTW!

I like how they left quite a few threads open, it'd be nice for another series.

Oh and I'm pretty excited about the return of Geass. Hope a decent group picks it up since gg aren't around in much capacity now, I'm sure they will. Pseudonym or someone would be ace. One thing always weirded me out about Lelouch though; why is he constantly making bizarre hand gestures in front of his face? ;)

Isn't it just amazing? I thoroughly recommend at least watching the first episode again to see all the way things link together now you've seen it all. They kept up the storyline, action and the utter genius of the comedy of Isaac and Miria all the way through so well. If any series deserves a second series from this year, it's definitely this one. And with an additional 10 novels worth of potential storyline to go through available, I hope they do it.

For geass fans, scanned pic of the new series with potential spoilers:

Apparently, the Zero in the picture, may not necessarily be Lelouch...

Edit:

Altered Clannad ep 10 screenie :D

Yeah, I'd love to see a second series of Baccano! 10 novels you say? Are they about the same characters or even the same 'immortal' theme?

That's some interesting information on Geass... a little weird though. Well, on a totally unrelated subject; does anyone else find Lelouch's Zero voice really funny? It's like a little boy trying to sound like his dad or something, (which is probably what they were going for). I'm quite tempted to watch it again before the second series. Mmm... genocidal politics and big robot fights. AND crazy nuke lesbian!

I apologise it appears there's 12 novels with the railway events looking like a spin-off novel. It appears to follow the same Immortal theme but honestly I don't know that much more. None of them have been translated as of yet so most of it is guess work from it's listing on mangaupdates. :) I'd imagine there's more events involving the same characters though. If you rewatch episode 1, you see it eluding to a number of events that aren't shown in the series.

Also, Sayonara ep 10 is out at last!

I see no-one commented on how awful Naruto 38 was.

Hopefully they bring out the awesome animators for the next 2 episodes, because something really cool is about to happen.

Naruto spoilers

Oh god, I hope they capture the essence of Kabuto getting owned so hard right, I just laughed so hard at that rape. If they mess up KN4 I will not be able to forgive studio Pierrot ever.

Sayonara 10 was a bit iffy I thought. I haven't really enjoyed the last few, it seems a lot more formulaic for some reason.

Also, did anyone make it through to the end of Bokurano? I managed about 15 or so and then gave up on it. Is the rest worth watching or should I consign it to the trash can of mediocrity?

Not as many jokes but I still liked it. The James Bond sequence was good. Also, there's an mp3 of the song the blonde girl was going to sing and it's amazing for being so awful. Glad the anime got a 2nd series to expand more though.

Bokurano; lost it's edge a bit with the director changing the script to remove some of the depressive and hopleless elements without changing the main plot line. In the end it was a fairly alright series. Left a couple of questions that I'm not happy about but generally not that bad. Worth a shot if you're desperate to finish the story and have spare downloading space to spare.

Awful in terms of content or animation? Content was ok I guess, and the animation was about what I would expect when something big is about to go off (and it was still better then many low budget eps - for example the team gai fights in the Rescue Gaara arc or parts of the exam arc)

Gah! the forum somehow lost my earlier reply, but anyway, thanks, I'll probably give the rest a miss unless I get super bored. Now to decide whether to watch Planetes or Mushishi next. Decisions, decisions.

They're both brilliant IMO. Depending on the day (and my mood) they're amongst my top 10 shows that I've seen. It's definitely a tough decision but I suppose it depends what kind of mood you're in and the time you've got. For example you can watch Mushishi an episode here or there and it won't really affect anything. Planetes I'd marathon though since eventually a plot strand develops and there is some link between episodes.

Personally I'd watch both. Maybe a handful of Planetes episodes interspersed with the odd episode of Mushishi. Or I suppose you could savour them because you probably won't find many shows of a similar quality (anime-wise of course).

Well Meh likes PlanetES so that's probably as glowing a reference as you'll get. I can guarrantee totally you will like Mushishi though.

 Thanks for the advice guys. Maybe I'll delay them both and give them the time they deserve later, I'm working on my dissertation at the moment. I don't trust myself enough with good anime to not marathon them!
