Oh Edo Rocket! ?

If so another show I should be watching :(

Ding ding! Correct. Great little show this and crimially underlooked. Some wonderful little side-jokes as well from things like Death Note and Full Metal Alchemist. :D

Now if only Shinsen was faster... :(

Yeah. It was one of the shows I'd been keeping my eye on because it looked a little different and sounded a little different. I guess that's the advantage of keeping up with downloading the episodes but not watching them, I can just wait until it's done and marathon it all (in theory though it usually never works out for me).

Still not much more left to go is there? 3 more episodes? I have something like 23 episodes.

Watching Haruhi at the moment. Just saw 4, will watch 5 in morning.

edit: Apparently I should watch it in the following order: 2,3,5,10,13,14,4,7,6,8,1,12,11,9

No. Watch it in episode order. They aren't aired chronologically, but that's part of the show. Watching it in actual chronological order would ruin it.

I'm confused (I've only seen the first ep then managed to lose the others I downloaded)

The airing order does not follow a chronological progression (episodes numbered 1-7 do not necessarily occur before those numbered 8-13 etc.). Also the first episode was probably the weakest so I'd try and get hold of it again if I were you.

fansubs have haruhi in airing order. official subs have it in chronological order. They put the TV in a strange watch order just to add more confusion to the series :( It's better in the random order though.

I didn't even know official subs existed! Are they any good? I think the strange TV order is part of the magic of the series really, it's not "just" an attempt to add confusion but an important part of its weirdness.

fansubs are usually better than official subs anyway ;o (I say usually, you do get those stupid groups sometimes that incorporate memes into the subs such as LIME)

by official subs, i mean the subs that come with the DVD. I don't think you should watch it in chronological order first because the actual substance of each episode is choreographed to fit the airing order.

Looks like the next episode of Gundam 00 will have an awesome fight. Dynames has its leg fucked, Exia can't go too far or the Ptolemaios is boned, and both the Virtue and Kyrios get snagged by the HRL. Happy now, Jeff?

I've been planning to get into gundam soon...

How many different ones are there and how many should I watch?

I heard gundam seed is quite good from a friend.

On episode 7 of Haruhi and it feels like it's barely started :D

FFS yes! I don't object to all the talking scenes but I remember what happened with that from SEED and Destiny. Emo a-go-go.

Gundam SEED is good when it's good, but monumentally atrocious when it's bad, and it's often bad. Watch Gundam X if you like post-apocalyptic scenarios, watch Turn-A Gundam if you like Studio Ghibli films, watch Gundam 00 because we're all watching it at the moment, and watch Victory Gundam to see how inventive Yoshiyuki Tomino is with killing off all the characters. One character gets

decapitated by a battleship. Seriously.

My opinion on Haruhi: It's pretty good, I like how they tried to be different by having it in a random-but orderly order. I felt it would have been smoother had I watched it in the chronological order though to be honest. I look forward to season 2. I may buy the novels

Wham. Go read. This time they're in (sort-of) chronological order.

Ha, Haruhi wasn't ever supposed to be a smooth ride :( You did watch them very quickly though.

When is season 2 coming out anyway?

I've started watching Elfen Lied. I've never watched anything similar, the amount of gore in the first few minutes really blew me away ;)

(Also, is Elfen Lied the anime with the infamous "People die when they are killed" line?)

LolElfenLied... it's a good series though, despite (or perhaps because of?) all the gore/nudity etc.

Also Mr. Jeff is right, that line comes from Fate Stay Night.

How come Elfen Lied is so short? I'm upto episode 10 at the moment so not long to go. But it seems like they could have done so much more.

Possibly another "Berserk" effect where they hadn't finished the manga in time for the end of the anime series? Or maybe 13 episodes was all the producers were able to get for the entire series. Like I said, the manga goes a bit beyond what's shown on the tv series. If you're after more, it might be worth your while to go have a look for it. ;)

For anyone mildly interested, it's been confirmed that Code Geass' scond season will begin in spring 2008. Also, much to Meh's overwhelming joy, it looks like there's going to be a new series of Kimi ga Nozomou Eien. :D

There's an OVA too if you're looking for some extra material, but you're right that it could've been larger had they so wished. That said an overly short series is 'probably' better than an overly long one.

Whoo for Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien! It'd have to be wrist-slittingly depressing to top the first one though...
