Finally caught up with Dennou Coil - man, it's getting really good! I think my enjoyment of the series has suffered a bit due to my sporadic watching habits, but I'm really getting into it now. Still not checked anything out from the new season though...

anything good coming up this season? I'm thinking kara no kyoukai and the kimi ga nozomu eien ova.

I have yet to watch a single episode of Clannad (THAT is how busy I've been...) but I'm hoping it'll be good when I do get round to it. I may look into the latter show mentioned there, depending on what sort of OVA it turns out to be (story-line progressing, humorous, fanservice, etc...).

I finished watching Death Note yesterday. The ending wasn't as great as I was expecting, but it was still satisfying. Ryuk made gone on his promise :D

Also, I picked up a Vice-Captain's Armband (from Bleach) while in London today :P... (and some more Rurouni Kenshin Volumes).

I only found out about Gurren Lagan after deciding to look into this thread - one of the best decisions I ever made.

Piro, I found the Death Note ending very disappointing, I really wanted it to end with:

Kira killing all those who knew of the Death Note, living to the end of his natural life making the planet a better place in a sort of montage ending.

And where the hell is a subbed (ideally HD) version of that Death Note special from Ryuk's perspective? According to Wiki, it was shown in Japan on the 31st of August.

I was pro-Kira until he

killed L. I fucking love L, he was the coolest, quirkiest character. In fact, i'm going to set up a shrine in my house in his honour. So i'm glad the he died in the end, he was way too evil for my liking :P. But it was kind of anti-climatic. I read in the film he asks Ryuk to kill them all by writing their names in the DN. They try to shoot Ryuk before he does, but it makes no difference. They think all is lost, but then Ryuk flips around his DN, and reveals he wrote Light's name instead.

I really want to see that DN from Ryuk's perspective too. "Death Note:R From Vision of God", it's called.

sub groups in order:

Animanda for 1-31

Kuro-Hana for 32-35

"We Were All Happy Fansubbing Death Note Then Viz Fucked Us All Up And We Got Revenge" for 35-36

Just search on google and you'll find these groups. ;)

Just watched the first episode of Clannad. More action/humour than I anticipated, but it looks like it might turn out just great! Dunno about the ED though, thoroughly obscure.

And yet, it's somehow very addicitve and charming. :blink: (The full op and ed are available to download too)

The second OP of Death note was excellent IMO. Completely different from anything i've ever seen before.

The 'ningen fucker, ningen sucker' song? I hated that OP, the original OP however is amazing, the song, the images, it all combines into one glorious mixture, even now that Death Note has finished ages ago, I still like to watch the opening song just cause its that damn good, can't say that about the second OP.

Just started on Prince of Tennis....3 eps in and it's already driving me slightly mad. It's ok...and I'll probably watch a lot more....but it's so...I dunno...slow. I wanted to see lots of tennis too...and we don't really see that much. So far anyways. I think it's gonna be one of those things where I prefer the manga (which in itself I was surprised to like as "sports manga" with a slightly annoying main character is not what I'd usually pick out...).

But...the anime seems to be harmless fun. ;)
