Just to let you guys know that....

Geneon Entertainment Exits (10:46 AM EDT): Though the finality of things is still up in the air, Geneon Entertainment has sent out information to retailers regarding their 4th quarter plans. According to the information, Geneon will be shipping all releases they have in the queue for street dates through 11/05/2007. All orders placed after this coming Friday is non-returnable. As of 12/31/2007, they will be shutting down, apparently completely as AnimeNation is listing everything past 11/11/2007 as canceled. Plans for beyond 12/31/2007 are still up in the air but what little is being said indicates that they're intending to focus on their own properties in a similar way to Kadokawa Pictures USA is doing things.

So if you want to get any series on dvd (USA) its best to get them now before there gone :(

Heres a list of series they own here

I have to say. As well as that rap, I'm absolutely loving track 21 which sounds like the preview music and probably crops up in the episodes as well.

:lol::):D

Some great tracks on the album and that's one of them. Track 25 is just

Also, for the benefit of Mr.Bibly should he still be around, Clannad's started(similar to Air and Kanon wit any luck) and the first episode has been subbed although I have no idea on the groups quality.

Edit: SS-Eclipse seem to have picked up subbing clannad so there's a quality subber for it after all.

I've only had the internet up at uni since yesterday, and finished Gurren Lagann a few minutes ago... such awesomeness all crammed into one episode, what an incredibly fun series. I'm tempted to go looking for the uncut Hot Springs episode but I'm limited to a 400MB a day limit here (P2P is also forbidden) so I'm going to have to tread carefully.

Two days of internet have meant two downloads for me thus far, Gurren Lagann was yesterday's download, Clannad's was today ^__^. Dunno when I'll get round to watching it though.

Seems I'm only one episode behind on Hayate, and some people have been bugging me to see Shakugan no Shana and its upcoming second season, although I dunno what sort of quality that actually is (suggestions anyone?).

Also, did anyone ever heard about the NGE movie getting subbed? AnidB has been awfully quiet about that if anything has been done.

Shakugan no Shana's first season was fairly good. The idea behind it to start off with was very interesting but it sort of wanders of halfway to deal with the character relations before returning with the finale. Worth it if you have the chance/download capacity for it. The movie's just been released subbed which I think contains the basic outline of the series but with a lot of the unecessary stuff cut away as i understand it so you may wish to take your chanxces with that.

About NGE, you're not likely to see it around until it's released on dvd or some other non-cinema format I'd imagine. Not unless you want to make do with someone's poor quality cam version with subs. :)

P.S; The uncut GL hot springs ep is worth it.

Surely thats cutting off their nose to spite their own face? What the hell do they think funds a lot of their own properties? I can't imagine them being anything less then very profitable.

Finally got to see Tekkon Kinkreet last night. Facking awesome, it's amazing just to look at as well.

My copy is still in the post...

I'm really looking forward to see how the art style of the manga is translated to film. In my mind it's all wiggly lines like Dr Katz.

 I thought it was great!!

Although I am always swayed by how sexy they look :(

Those bog standard AEU mobile suits looked pretty nice too

It's a fairly nice introduction episode for the series really. Less angsty than SEED's was at any rate. Plus it's looking pretty damn nice in HD. :D

Need more of this and Genshiken. And Clannad. And Bamboo Blade. And Shana.

Edit: You've gotta laugh at the lady/boy pilot in Gundam though. :D

For someone who has never seen Gundam, where'd the best place to start be? Coz there are like 100000000 series. Got 30gigs of them downloaded but dunno where to begin..

Some of the later series are thinly-veiled retreads of the original series. Gundam 00 has just started, and isn't linked to any of the previous series barring the name, so you wouldn't get lost in the story.

Gundam Seed was good, if a bit emo.

Just don't bother with Seed Destiny, the sequel series.

Awful.

Awful.

SEED was mostly crap, the beginning of Destiny was better, then the last half of Destiny was like having AIDS directly injected into your brain. Fukuda should be strung up with razor wire around his ankles and flogged mercilessly with long branches. SEED Stargazer was fantastic though.
