Basically the hot sprinds scene with Kamina and Simon et all is more...comedy based would be the best way to put it. Instead of a Simon and Kamina casually reminicsing over the past in the form of a recap, Kamina basically goes mental trying to peek into the female hot springs sections in typical anime style dragging Simon into it. But! It's far more funny than my description gives it credit for. (If you've seen it, think of Full Metal Panic Fumoffu's Hot Spring episode then multiply it by awesome).

Fumoffu's ep was already awesome, and I'm pretty sure awesome isn't a valid multiplier :P

It is! Fumoffu Awesome x Awesome = Awesome^2 = Gurren Lagann. Basic maths! :):D

Regardless! The episode must be watched! I'm still chuckling when I think about it. :(

The new One Piece episode 144 dub by Funimation debuted in the U.S this weekend.

From Youtube:

Here's the dub of the opening theme:

Here's a 40 second clip of content:

Here's the dub of the Ending theme:

Think I'll stick with the subbed version. An A for effort though.

wow. glad to see some effort put into the dub for the OP and ED songs. shame about the character's voices though

They have actually put some effort into finding reasonable equivelants (as best you can with western VA's). Compare to say, bleach or Naruto which sound like they were dubbed in the early 90s.

I know Robotech is an American hack job of 3 Japanese series, so I'm hoping I won't get lynched for bringing it up :)

Anyway, I see a 14 disc set containing 85 episodes (the complete Macross Saga/The Masters/New Generation) is just out. Is it worth £35?

Something else which concerns me about the release is that it is Manga. Having bought stuff from ADV, MVM and Manga, Manga is usually by far the worst in my limited experience, with the other 2 providing good quality releases. But Manga can sometimes be decent. Is this another shit-rushed-out-the-door style thing?

or Ghost in the Shell.

Or the "fixed" version of Ghost in the Shell, which introduced an entirely different cock up!

or wings of honneamise - 'yeah lets use a sub par VHS master of an anime classic - they'll buy it in droves!!!'

luckily a 720p blu ray rip is finally "out there"

Finally got to see Tekkon Kinkreet last night. Facking awesome, it's amazing just to look at as well.

Weren't you at all disappointed by the story though? It does look amazing but the story is just pretty rubbish really. Compare it to something like Mind Game and it just seemed weak.

Also: "Global Astroliner" and "Kung Fu Love" from Amazing Nuts (collection of 4 short Studio 4C animations) are excellent. I'd love for them to be made into feature films.

both fantastic shorts, love the style to bits - the gangs in global astroliner are fantastic

Everything is weak compared to Mind Game.

By itself I fully enjoyed it though. The storyline isn't deep or anything but I found it satisfying.

Hell yes. All the gang intros with their logos, I had a little orgasm.

With regards to Amazing Nuts is this the films or some sort of soundtrack?

That's the soundtrack. If you want to see them have a scout about on Youtube, otherwise you can get the DVD from Yesasia. I thought that the other two short films on there were rubbish mind.

Not sure why the CD/DVD would be cheaper than the DVD by itself if that was the case. Goodness knows what's on that other disk.

I have an EXTENDED version global astroliner :D - no idea where it comes from as I have the DVD.

and yes, those other 2 vids are really not good at all, they shouldnt have been included - it actually drags the rest of the package down.
