So I've heard, yeah.

I made a point of tracking it down before I even started watching, just so I know I won't be left hanging.

The film is great. It doesnt do the usual "lets go back in time to a part of the series and pretend its a spin off bit". Really respectful to the series as a whole I thought. Which you will see :wub:

I thought it gets better as it goes along. Shocking in parts with a really good ending.

Better not be. I've just dropped £20 on this on Ebay :wub:

It covers volumes 1-13 or so of the manga, then STOPS. Also, major characters are completely absent, like Skull Knight.

I'm just finished watching the first 7 episodes of Gurren Lagann. Pure genius, it's one of those shows that knows just what to do to put a massive smile on your face. I've got the first 14 episodes already downloaded, and I'm in the process of grabbing the rest.

If ever there was a series for you chow, this is it. :)

Just watched episode 25. Seriously, words fail me. Just fucking amazing. The balance of all the various elements in this was superb. :)

Indeed! During episode 9 and 10 I thought, "Oh here we go, lots of angst and whinging for the rest of the series... Looks like I shall stop watching soon :rolleyes:". Then episode 11 happened and Gurren Lagann redeemed itself! It's ace again now :)

Just got back into anime and purchased Ghost in the shell boxset (1+2) and Perfect Blue.

What are the top 5 best anime films ever?

I haven't watched 'that' many, but some of the Ghibli might be up there (although everyone has their own preferences, Grave of the Fireflies is pretty well liked by all, and personally I favoured Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke), The Girl who Leapt Through Time was also very good in my opinion.

I have 5 Centimetres a Second and The Place Promised in our Early Days on my hardrive which I've been meaning to watch for absolutely ages, but have been distracted by the current season, they might come in there somewhere if all the hype is anything to go by.
