I see a lot of love for Gurren Lagann in this thread so i tried the first half dozen episodes.

I thought the first two were brilliant. The part where he first wanted to combine and just smashed the drill into the top had me in tears.

I wasn't as impressed with the eps after this though. Does the show lose it's comedy angle?

I think there was like one episode where I just couldn't be arsed, but keep watching. It gets absolutely amazing around ep 8.

That was one of the best things I've ever seen in an anime. Genuinely LOL-worthy.

Hi All, interactii here. For your enjoyment we are releasing an HD version of Naruto Movie 3.

Now before you all hop on the torrent, there are four things I want you to be aware of.

First, this is a 1920x1080 copy of Naruto Movie 3 encoded with H264. You will need an Intel Core Duo 2.0GHz or higher to play it. This means that most of you will not be able to play it. My computer in fact, is too slow to play it. If you download it and have a computer thats less powerful than that, its not going to play correctly.

Second, you will need ffdshow to play it; nothing else decodes it quite correctly. You can get it from http://x264.nl/. If you worry about ffdshow taking over all your decoding, pay attention during install, and uncheck all formats for video, audio, etc except for H264/VC1. We will NOT provide technical support on failed ffdshow installations.

Third, it is huge: 2.8GB. I don't want to hear a single complaint about how you wasted your bandwidth download it and you can't play it.

Ambitious. I have that exact cpu, but I'm not taking the risk. I wonder if the ps3 could play it back...

O Rly?

next week maybe, but this weeks ep is still 170mb and deals with a different focus

Yep. no good stuff this week.

The manga's getting really interesting, this week we find out who Naruto's father is. We've just got a new uber-baddie too. Oh, and there's a hint at Naruto's potential for an legendary-class jetsu.

Yeah I did like how they just kinda explained his lineage in such a low key way.

I'm not a big anime head as such but i just bought the Elfen Lied box set.

I watched the first episode then felt i had to watch all 13 it was so engrossing.

The odd bits of humour were brilliant like when they took lucy to school. Watching Hellsing at the min, pretty good as well

what?! hasn't everyone known this unsubtle hint for about 200 chapters?

To be honest, I don't like Naruto as a weekly read. It always seems like something awesome is going to happen. And it almost happens. And then it's the end. It seems like the author's struggling a bit as well, the amount of pages every week is down to about 15 from 17-8. It's alright as a tankobon though, I guess. I haven't really enjoyed it for ages.

STOP WATCHING HELLSING. IT'S RUBBISH.

And then go buy Hellsing Ultimate. Which is awesome.

I disagree, Hellsing is better paced and more enjoyable up to where incognito is introduced - then it becomes a shower of shit. Ultimate is good as well, but it's just chugging its way through the manga and doesn't build up the characters quite as well as Hellsing did.

Watch Hellsing and then watch Ultimate.

I'll give you that. Ultimate missed out a few chapters in the first OVA. I also preferred the music by far in the series.

Incognito was so GASH, though.

Yeah I know it was obvious but the reveal wasnt built up in anyway. It was like a "footnote"...

Honestly, anything but Popotan will seem like the second coming after sitting through all of Hellsing.

So I tried Lupin the 3rd and Berserk but I don't really want to carry on watching them at mo. Watched Zombie-Loan and it's ok, generic characters in an emo situation, surprisingly devoid of anything nice but never goes too bleak either.

And then I found Black Cat...

I think I've found the series I was after.

It gets worse blink.gif

Aw c'mon.....first a 4-year old kid gets chimera'd with her labrador, then she gets gibbed by a serial killer? And it gets WORSE? Geez....

Also, one thing I picked up on.

I've only got about 10 episodes in so far, just enough to clear the backstory bits, but they've made references to 3 years having passed? Crikey. I figured 3 months maybe....

You have to have a sharp eye for the aging bit. If you watch to abut episode 15 then flick back to the first 2 episodes then Ed does actually look younger. The problem (as with most anime series) is that they keep the characters in the same clothes throughout. Would have been better if he had some sort of...junior alchemy coat to make it stand out a bit more.

I hope you have the film to watch directly to watch after series? As that really ties the entire series up nicely.
