Anime is growing old on me, I remember when it was all new and weird - now it's just jaded and repetitive. Things like Gurren Lagann are really enjoyable and fun to watch - but it's no GTO/Evangellion/Death Note/GitS:SAC/Mushishi/Gankutsuo/Ergo Proxy/Hellsing/Cowboy Beebop/Haruhi Suzumiya...

Well you get my drift although I do rate it higher then Full Metal Panic (and 80% of the other anime I've watched). Anyway, when are more legendary series going to come out? I need something good or I'll start to loose faith in anime.

heres a thought. Why not watch a older legendary anime? Theres shedloads of older anime which wipes the floor with recent and current shows. Stuff like Lupin III 70's Tv incarnations (most of original series is on the web somewhere and much if not all of the second series is on r1 dvd) is great fun, and then theres stuff like SDF Macross, Urusei Yatsura and dozens more.

As for that anime channel, I'm surprised to see Bleach there and FMA was good (I never finished it for some reason though), but the rest aren't up to much (in my opinion at least). Escaflowne is abysmal

Alright gayz, what show should I watch while Order takes their sweet time subbing GURREENNN LAAGGGAANNNN?

Hajime no Ippo, a basic but very accurate and solid boxing anime. A nice mixture of serious and hilariously funny episodes building up on Ippo's career.

Really? Not even for unlicensed stuff like The Girl Who Leapt Through Time that you'd want to rewatch? Or for anime with crappy 'official' translations?

Anyway, I think the last couple episodes have had HD encodes, but between 14 and then, I don't know of any with decent quality picture.

Do what I do: Download the order ones for keeps and just delete the BSS ones after you're done.

p.s. Are Order going off DVD rips or something? They do take a while!

They are redoing earlier episodes with KickAssAnime using DVD rips (so far they've released the first 2 episodes from the DVDs). The rest have been tv raws like everyone else's.

Really for the episodes between 15 to the current one, just find a raw you like the picture quality of and get the subs separately to watch with that. The subs should be synced with most of the raws out there.

Just realised that I haven't touched this thread in months, and since then I've only found two series that were worth my time. First would be School Days

Man, Mokoto is now probably the one character in any series that I hate above all others, not because he's a badly made main char, but because he's just the worst peice of shit in the universe

and of course....

GUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!

Oh come on seph, you know that the ratio of good anime to crap anime was just as bad then. Of course it has it's greats, but let's be honest, most of it is garbage.

I see a lot of love for Gurren Lagann in this thread so i tried the first half dozen episodes.

I thought the first two were brilliant. The part where he first wanted to combine and just smashed the drill into the top had me in tears.

I wasn't as impressed with the eps after this though. Does the show lose it's comedy angle?

I agree, which is why I said to seek out a legendary anime not some random stuff from that era ;)

Thers only a small amount of titles from the 70's-80's that are actually obtainable today, and most of them are the big names
