EDIT: Just watched it, so awesome, loving it! Although I wonder if we could have a straw poll,

Hands up those of you who feel sorry in any way for Rossiu?

Yeah, maybe a little bit, he thought that he had to do a pretty awful thing for the greater good and had the conviction to see it through.

Two words - or one, if you hyphenate it: Jin Roh.

How long has this been out in the UK? I do a search on play.com with absolutely no expectation that it'll be there but there it was, at a bargain price, to boot. Not only is it as good as it ever was, it benefits from a high quality dub you ought to expect from I.G. stuff by now.

This is another reprieve for the anime industry, the kind it so desperately needs when the vast majority of it's output is gash. Being an Oshii fan, I always had my doubts as to whether an Oshii scripted film could be directed by anyone else, but I'm seriously thinking Okiura is at least as capable as Oshii in that capacity. Aye, some of Oshii's trademarks (Kenji Kawai score, the mid-film interlude) are missing, but this film wouldn't have been any better for having them. In fact, I'm not sure how this film could be any better than it already is.

You gotta watch it. Brilliant stuff.

I thought it was rubbish.

But then you don't like Patlabor or Ghost in the Shell either. To most, that's a ringing endorsement. ;)

They both happen to be really fucking shit though. Overated nonsensical tosh like those and Akira is why I couldn't get into Anime at first.

I'm working my way through Trigun at the moment. Starts of a bit....dull with the odd bit of silllyness but once you hit the last 10 episodes its jaw dropping. Brilliant show.

Trigun rocks your s0xx0r. Shame they never followed up with the later manga storyline though

Gundam isn't that bad though, sure it could be better, but the mechs are ace and that's what we end up watching it for. There's always one or two great characters in it too, shame the rest are often generic whining twats.

GiTS 2 is naff though, can't argue with you there. The visual style is great, the story however is utter pants.

I put it to you that if you had trouble understanding any of these films, you're not very bright. Sorry, but nonsensical isn't a word that applies to any of them. Quite bizarre.

I've never really been blown away by Gundam designs, tbh.

Really?

The custom editions in Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz are particularly nice ^_^

oh and getting to see them in model form is just lush  especially if you see some of the paint jobs and extras some people have added!

Clench those teeth!

The last 3 episodes of Gurren Lagann always having me grinning like a fucking madman at the end. NEED MORE!

Yeah, it's ace.

Really liked the last episode, the way they added a real human factor and then somehow managed to get the whole

it's all about LOVE

angle in.

Plus the look

on Viral's face when Leeron's suggestive to him

was priceless!

I've still not watched Claymore 22 but I've just read some kinda spoilers for 23;

WHY GOD WHY?! FUCKS SAKE WHY MUST YOU BRING RAKI BACK INTO THIS, THE MOST SUPERB PART OF THE ENTIRE SERIES IN MANGA FORM JUST TO HAVE BECOME AN ENTIRE TRAIN WRECK OF A SERIES?! Anyone watching, please do yourself a favour and hunt down the manga and see how it should be properly.

On a seperate note, the latest manga chapter is out. Praying it's the last alternate story and next month moves back to the main arc.
