I've asked the chaps over at Ntsc-uk and they gave me their opinion, now i would like to hear yours

i recently bought the Samurai 7 complete boxed set and it had trailers for Gunslinger Girl and Burst Angel which i quite fancy

are they any good

Gunslinger Girl is good, but apparently just STOPS. The manga continues well past it, apparently. Watched the first two discs and enjoyed them.

Burst Angel's supposed to have a really gay ending, and it looks ridiculously reliant on fan-service bullshit. It's getting some prequel OVA soon (or now, fuck knows).

EDIT: Err, I fucking hate anime, me! Raaa! Bile! Coming from my mouth! Hate! HATE! (better, imp?)

Gunslinger girl is geting a second series or is in talks for a second series no?

Burst Angel is fairly average actiony-series with chicks which I sort of enjoyed up until the ending. The ending is an affront to god and should be expunged for being the weak useless trash that it is. So, hmm, I guess it's sort of worth it.

Edit: Oh and blue screen error, when you finish the anime and get enraged by the ending as everyone does, I implore you to seek out the manga that carries on from there. It gets so much better. I'll even provide you the chapter and volume number to start from!

Provide me with it please. I should get to reading the GTO manga. I didn't see much wrong with the ending to the series myself but then it's been a while since I saw it and I suppose having not read the manga ending my opinion may change when I do get round to it.

For those interested in folowing on from the GTO anime, the place to start would be Volume 14 (starts at chapter 107). It continues on from

the very last bit of the Okinawa trip

and works it's way along from there. If you have trouble finding a "copy" of the manga let me know and I'll sort you out with a couple of links.

Edit: To give an indication on how much additional stuff was missed out by the anime, there's 25 volumes in total.

Exactly. So Awesome... :(

Maaaan, the GL ending though! Can't wait until next week's show!

The Viral/Simon union, we all knew it was going to happen, let's hope it's freaking awesome!

Loving the series as much as ever, just so fun!

Hah! What a time to talk about this!

The October issue (on sale August 21) of Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh officially announced that a second season of the Gunslinger Girl anime series will be produced. The Japanese magazine runs Yu Aida's original manga that inspired the anime. The production company Marvelous Entertainment had revealed that a sequel was in the works in its 2006-2007 financial report on May 30, but the company then edited the report to remove the Gunslinger Girl reference in early June

Time to finish the first series then.

"You can find our kind everywhere" I like that new girl in Lucky Star. I paused it on the bowling scores - they seemed pretty likely!

Clannad's been confirmed for Fall 2007, so Haruhi season 2 will be later, I guess.

Stormed off to animesuki looking for information about it and eventually ended up watching the trailer for it. Looks quite good mind, very Kanon-ish which is no bad thing. The fall's turning out to be something quite special with Genshikken 2, Shana 2, Gundam 00 and this all vying for attention.

The Kodomo no Jikan trailer however confirmed all my worst fears about the series although it wasn't overly blatant about it. Madness.

The new anime channel, Anime Central, launches on Sky on the 10th September 2007. Here's a Wiki link:

They'll be showing both dubbed and subbed shows from 9pm to 6am. Can't wait.

Should be interesting. Can't see a whole channel working though, it's been done before (well, mixed with yank cartoons in a 50/50ish ratio). Seems ambitious

I've come to quite enjoy these shows about wind blowing through girls' hair. It's another Key visual novel, isn't it?

I reckon we might have to wait until next Tanabata for Haruhi.

I can watch that bit near the end a million times and will never tire!

Indeed.

Yeah, it is. Apparently it's one of the longer visual novels to "play" through, spanning different generations and whatnot. I enjoyed Kanon, even though it wasn't particularly great in the end. I expect I'll like this as much, although I'm willing to be pleasantly surprised.

The only bad thing about this confirmation for is that more animated FMP is probably even further away now(as I seem to mention every time I talk about this). I'm hoping they can squeeze it in after Clannad and before starting on Haruhi season 2.
