I just looked it up - that's a great chapter! The moment when Luffy puts his hat on Nami is really quite moving, I love how it mirrors the panel in which Shanks puts his hat on a crying 10 year old Luffy in the first chapter. In fact, the latter is one of my favourite panels ever. The semi-recent (a year ago?!) double page spread with all the guys standing on the tower about to cross over to save Nico Robin reminded me of that chapter, it's a similar mood/scenario. Oda does great dramatic posing.

The animated version of the scene is really well done too. Actually gave me a bit of a lump in my throat. Woo, new chapter's out, can't wait for the scanlations. It looks like it'll be a Zoro fight. I love me Zoro fights. :)

p.s. with all these results and things flying around, has anyone else been tempted to re-watch Azumanga?

After all that it was quite disappointing...

After having finally watched Claymore 20, disappointing is about right. They changed a couple of bits which they totally didn't need to which made it worse I think.

Still, looking up in the next episode. :D

Now to terrify myself with Higurashi episodes 6 and 7... :D

I'm not exactly sure what I'm missing in Claymore 20 due to my lack of manga reading, but I found it disappointing due to the lack of action and the preponderence of Raki +_+.

Ah well, there's always next episode.

If you really want to know...

Flora and Clare actualy go at each other, none of this Jean interrupting crap. Priscilla revenge and Irene are never mentioned only that the arm is borrowed. They test the difference between the two techniques; Windcutter is more accurate and forceful, quicksword is, as the name implies, quicker. Flora makes a brief mention to Clare going over her limit but drops the issue instead. Raki never mentions Clare to Easley and they don't have that conversation outside in a forest either. The conversation between Easley and the other guy is a lot longer and more revealing. Various other changes as well; Deneve and Miria's little moment near the end doesn't exist, Denever never goes into the storage shed, the exchange between Undine and her subordinates never happens.

Most of the changes aren't important or vital but the Clare/Flora fight being removed and the Easley conversation were actually more interesting so it is puzzling that they removed it.

Granted most of the changes have been to done to fill it out a touch but still. Hrmm.

Don't do it! At the moment you only have a week to wait for the next thrilling installment! If you read the manga, you'll be stuck waiting an entire fucking month for story progression like me. :D

On a different note, Bacanno's great!

There was me thinking that they'd be putting that in the next ep. It's kinda important, because from the fight Clare learns the basics of the technique, which she later on uses herself because it's compatible with yoma-hiding..

After reading that I had to go and read the manga for that episode anyway. You were all right in saying that it was better than the episode really. I liked the extended conversation in particular.

I still have no idea what's going on! But yeah, I'm really liking it. I think the most confusing thing, well, other than the numerous cast, is how they present time.. I take it the stuff in NY and on the train aren't happening at the same time, at least...

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE NEXT PART BELOW. Do not read if you're just watching the anime.

They can't realy do that though:

In the next episode, Flora's going to die pretty much near the start. Unless they script in a new bit where Flora just happens to teach her it before the awakened beings come

I'm...not sure. Bits of it seem to match together and bits of it don't. I'm sure it'll make more sense as we go along.

This is Madhouse though. As far as I'm concerned with some of their recent manga adaptations they can almost do no wrong.

Keep the faith...!

I'll take solace in that, as well as the fact that Claymore has been doing very well so far.
