So Lucky Star 15 was pretty good. Especially for fans of Haruhi! (Who isn't a fan of Haruhi?)

The Dating Game OP parody was brilliant - almost made me laugh as much as the Keroro cast a couple of episodes back).

I really did laugh at the Da Capo montage. Good all round.

Episode full of win. :)

I still start grinning when I hear the God knows track even after all this time. Loved the Da Capo montage and the Mikuru theme song ending.

Edit: Also, being really geeky I knew the answer to the question that was asked on the tv which syumped the Kagami/Tsukasa family :)

I don't know if any of you will try it but if you found the more logical deductions from Death Note between L and Kira interesting, you may wish to try out a manga series called Spiral on stoptazmo and mangaupdates. It's essentially a mystery series but some of the deductions that get made of how the murder or incident was done are truly remarkable. Well, remarkable to me at least.

Edit: After looking it up, it appears it also has an anime series as well which I was unaware of. The funny thing being that the person I always imagined as the lead character's voice when reading through it was actually the person that was cast for the role in the anime.

Bit late to the party, but have started watching Claymore finally and by god it is brilliant.

especially episode 8, was completely and utterly shocked (like jaw to the floor) whenever that happened to Teresa

. Such an excellent series, fantastic characters and fantastic music, pretty decent story as well.

;) Indeed.

:(;) ;)

hell yes.

if I couldn't watch any more movies or TV ever again for whatever reason, i'd still rest happy having watched lagann from start to finish... it's the most kinetic, dynamic, balls out FUN thing I've ever seen, I think if i'd been 12 years old and saw this, my head would have exploded.

i'll probably go back and watch it again from scratch soon.

:)

After much prodding in this thread I've watched up to ep.12 of Gurren Lagann, but I've only downloaded the AiA-I-Z subs up to episode 13... now I've got to switch to another fansub group in order to get the rest... unless AiA I-Z suddenly decide to sub some more ;).

Oh, and hooray for Claymore fans!

AiA-Iz are still subbing but they're a couple of weeks behind. As well as that, they're only releasing it via irc as well since it was licensed. The anon and bss releases that are kicking around on torrents seem to be just as understandable though.

Absolutely. I almost wish I was 12 again just to experience it like that as it's similar to super robot shows I used to lap up as a kid and still have fond memories of.

I tried their irc channel and it seems unless you're voiced or one of the staff you won't get the episodes.

Ah well. I read on neogaf from one of their staff that they were just going to be releasing from via irc after it came out it was licensed but he never went into much detail. Still, the anon and bss subs on torrents seem to be alright and I prefer that since I can never get irc to work properly anyway. ;)

Heh. Well IRC is a goldmine for anime/manga related stuff. It's usually my first port of call with torrents being my last resort and usenet somewhere in the middle of the two.

The main reason I prefer the anon/BSS subs is the softsubbed nature. So I can change stuff I don't like etc... and also watch with the hi-res raws. Oh and they're quick too ;)

The bss channel in particular has a wealth of good stuff for speedy download.

P.S. I thought I saw you getting kicked from the Eclipse channel when claymore was released last week, Zappster. As part of a cull because of the massive influx of leechers. I got lucky and was already downloading during the cull.

I should really get on with watching Gurren Lagann, I've not watched it since the first episode.

Huzzah. Darker than Black is finally actually getting interesting although who knows if this is just for these 2 episodes. New openign and ending too both of which are rubbish although the actual video for the opening is pretty interesting.

Too true. I really miss the ED. Visually, at least.

The anonymous subs are out for the next couple of episodes as well, I think, although I'm sure you already know this. I'm still sticking with sudo though since I like their translations. Although, what Zappster said about editing subs sounded interesting - I'd love to sort out all the times when words are stuck together, and change the font to something that doesn't leave a gap in words which have 'a' and 'n' next to each other.

I quite enjoyed the last few arcs actually, although this one does seem to have a good mix of characters and some interesting history to tell.

Really? I idle in the eclipse channel pretty much all the time and don't remember it. Maybe I did but didn't notice as I wasn't at the pc much in the last week or so. I do sometimes wonder why I idle there though, especially now since they lost their really fast bots that they used to have a few months back. Most of their stuff I can get elsehwere on IRC.

edit: aegisub is a pretty handy thing for messing about with the look of the subs/dialogue etc... not sure if there's a mac version (as I recall you were on one weren't you? Or maybe I'm thinking of someone else... ;) ).

Just finished ep.17 of Gurren Lagann before I go on holiday... can hardly believe I was going to miss out on this gem of a show from last season's crop.

I really found myself beginning to sympathise with Viral mid-way through where we're up to now, and that's only increased. Quite ironic now that he compares Simon's actions to those of Lord Genome as a criticism. The mystery of Nia is also quite something, she seems to be somehow linked to the "anti-Spirals", I'm actually suprised somewhat that the humans didn't discover more about Lord Genome's agenda from the ruins of his city, an information database somewhere or something of the sort...
