Some information on the Dath Note special that's to air in the summer:

Mantan reports that the episode will be a whopping three-hour reconstruction of the anime titled "Death Note Director's Cut Complete Ending," which will begin all the way back with the battle of wits between Light and L.

New recordings from the voice actors have been provided, as well as brand new scenes from the manga that didn't appear in the anime series. The episode is set to air on August 31 at 8:03pm (silly Japanese air times). Considering the final episode had a staggering 4.7% ratings share at 2am, there will probably be a few more people watching now at the more palatable time slot.

Has anyone seen Gungrave? Im tempted to buy but not if its not any cop.
For those who like to purchase their anime, MVM's monthly boxset releases have Gungrave, Samurai Champloo and Last Exile out soon. I'll recommend Gungrave to anyone a thousand times over.

Seen the whole series. It is excellent. A fantastic story, really well told and therefore a must-own series.

If anyone ever tells you anime is just for kids, get them to watch this.

NEO gave this their top recommendation for this month.

The boxset is out next Monday (16/07/07).

Pre-order it now from Hmv.co.uk for £42.99:

Ah right, that makes sense. Thanks for the lengthy explanation <_< . Also Frothbite have started churning out Nodame Cantabile episodes again so I'm finally getting back round to that, Mukya!

her eyes were silver after she left the village to go to the mountain so doesn't that mean the pill wore off already?

I did see that, but according to Mr. Jeff's explanation

The pills only inhibit the detection and the chances of being detected via yoki, not the use thereof, and so her ability to use her own perhaps was not affected. Conversely you may just be right and the ability to obviously manifest her power like that means the pill has probably ceased to be effective.

I thought the pills main use was to hide her eyes, wasn't that why she had to take them to go to the holy city place? (with the side effects being the yoki problems)

Sorry, my mistake.

The pills in fact have both effects of yoki hiding and eye colour alteration (from silver to blue I think Clare's are). The eye colour alteration has only been used once so I'd forgotten about it. So since she had her silver eyes back and she could be sensed by Riful, the pills had worn off.

Yarr I had a look at it. It was pretty good but not as funny as I was anticipating. Well, the making yourself taller part was good. Reminds me a lot of Pani Poni Dash buts that's probably down to it being done by the same company. Still, it has promise. :(

Yeah, I think that was the only proper laugh out loud bit, except for maybe the pictures of that man's face being used as censorship stickers. But as you say, promising. And the ED is great!

Higurashi ni kai ep 2:

Great comedy ep this. I especially like how the "zombie" idea of the tag is also vaguely related to the mysterious stuff that happened in the last series where 1 person becomes "it" and goes after the rest of them. Rena's tactic at the end of tag though was genius.

Next week however, it begins again...

And that Eva trailer looks so much more impressive now you can see what the hell's going on.

Gah! damnit. I forgot you can read spoilers when you click reply with quote.

Anyway, were you watching the Hauu soft sub, Mr. Jeff?

Narr, was some subber by the name of Devils lair although it looks fairly similar to Hauu so they might have just changed their name. It was the first sub I found so I gave in again.

Hauu just released their hard subbed version, so it must just be a coincidence. I read one word from your spoilers,

zombie,

so I'm going to cave and download it as well. :(

The eva video is quite cool. I'm actually quite looking forward to the project, even if it does turn out to be awful, it'll be nice to revisit the 'world' of evangelion again.

Oh and a question, the anbu subs for Planetes, any good?

:P

That one word isn't amazingly revealing. I'll leave it to your imagination what it might mean. :)

Anbu are a fairly great subbing groub. Obviously I have no idea how the translation is but there are very few errors and they're reasonabley good quality files as well. Must get round to finishing Planetes at some point as well. :(

They are but you could also just get the DVD rips from KickAssAnime or even the HD versions that were floating about.

Thanks, I had a look at those HD versions, but the torrents seem to have disappeared. I think I'll get the anbu ones since I don't really like using MKV files, Mplayer is pretty user unfriendly and VLC sucks with soft subs. I'm looking forward to watching the series though, after all the praise it's gotten in this thread.

+ 10 points of amazing for Minoru's ending song for Lucky Star this week. :(

Also featuring the voice of Yuki from Haruhi as well for that green haired girl. :) Just need Mikuru's and Koizumi's VA's to make an appearance for the full set. :P

I thought it was her. She's not been typecast at all.. :P but yeah, amazing ending! How did Minoru Shiraishi win the popularity contest/vote for a figurine last week anyway? Was there a very organised fan-faction that pushed him to the top?

p.s. here's a link to the Minoru special ending - raw, in case anyone wants just the ending for putting on their iPod or what have you.

I dunno. I think either their actual radio show of lucky channel made them more popular than the other characters from the series or it was just a made-up poll to fit the storyline of that week.

OK, this may be very very old school but does anyone know where the last 2 episodes (episode 24 and 25) of Code Geas went to, i just cannot seem to find them and its driving me mad.

Very much agreed about Lagann though, its been really superb so far.

The last 2 episodes of Code Geass have yet to be aired in Japan. They ended the series on 23 because (I think) they lost the time slot available to them for showing the series so they had to hold off on showing them. Fear not however since the last 2 episodes will be available near the end of july.

Big service episode for Mr.Bibly Sousuke and Mr.Imp Kyon in Lucky Star. Amazing scenes.

I only just got back up to here with Lucky Star, and now I understand what that meant :ph34r: .

I'm tending towards the idea that it was a made up poll, although it could very well be a real thing. Episode 14 to be watched soon... catching up with Nodame Cantabile is also going great, ep. 18 I do believe!
