That surprises me too... the show seems to have lost its lustre, there hasn't been a proper LOL moment for a while now. It's still pretty enjoyable though. I wonder if they'll split it into two season of 26 - I thought there were only ten or so volumes of manga.

How are you guys checking the post ranking? I'm crap at forums.

Started watching Geass this morning though - man - it's fantastic!

That's a video of a video of one of the upcoming Evangelion movies, isn't it? Looks like it might be one of the remake ones as opposed to the entirely new one, given that quite a few scenes look somewhat familiar. Still, good to think (and hope) about the new productions, they just better live up to their heritage :) .

Given the date it showed of september/october I think it was, it'll be the remake one. The other 2 new movies are to appear next year.

Meh will always be in the lead. Wherever there is poor quality animation being released, he'll be there. Wherever a company produces a shoddy looking anime, he'll be there. Wherever anyone dares mention the name Evangelion, he'll be there. :)

I can't believe it's going to be 52 episodes. I thought they were going to be struggling to get it to last 26!

;)

Aren't they pretty much all remake movies?

Hayate's going to run for 52 eps? Shesh, didn't expect that.

Who did, it really doesn't seem like that sort of series, but whatever, hopefully it'll manage to retain some of its charm throughout.

I seem to recall reading that one of them was going to be virtually all new material (substantially deviating from the storyline/altering the ending, everything). It'll be good to hear the original cast at it again if nothing else, and they know what's at stake here, so they'll hopefully do their darndest not to screw it up.

There's a new character turning up in the 2nd of the films as well.

Gurren Lagann was fucking incredible. Show of the year easily for me so far and makes me pine for a GL game using the ZOE engine.

A character not even seen in the games? How interesting.

Hmm, I haven't actually been following Gurren Lagann up 'til now, figured I had enough series to tide me over. Now that I'm on holiday perhaps I should look into it considering the positive response it seems to be getting... :) .

Also, after ep 15 of Hayate no Gotoku

Hayate turns out to be irresistible to the entire opposite sex, how surprising. I was expecting some kendo action this episode though ;). I wonder how he shapes up against the other (almost certainly superhuman) butlers who frequent his school... also two things kind of give away the length of the series, firstly they don't usually change the ED or the OP unless it's going to be changed frequently due to the length of the series, and secondly there are still a number of characters in the OP that have yet to be introduced.

Bibly, if you're not watching Gurren Lagann you should hang your head in shame. In shame. It's the only series fromthe spring season I've seen that's basically had unanimous approval from everywhere. GET TO IT!

I'd be dribbling at the thought of GL game with the zoe engine. I'd possibly want that even more than a zoe3.

Edit:

Want!

Ahh, cheers, I'm catching up...

Just finished Geass. Man, I did not see any of that coming at the end. Can't wait for 24 & 25 at the end of the month. Still, it'll probably be another cliffhanger with the second season announced.

There is a Gurren Laggan game coming for the DS

Few more screens here.

Gurren Laggan really is amazing, everyone should be watching it. Bit annoyed they have a preview episode next, but after that it's (BIG SPOILER FOR EPISODE 17)

the time leap

, right?

Anyone who likes Gurren Laggan should check out Koutetsushin Jeeg. Not enough people watch the mech shows.

Yes, that's what happens in episode 17. Supposedly the entire series is a parody of various mech series with the first episodes corresponding to the earliest mech shows and then working it's way up. The stuff just gone was late 80's/early 90's as I understand it.

AiA & IZ have dropped it now I think, unless they are popping up under another name. They generally don't do licensed stuff. If you want somewhere to get it fast I'd recommend #black-order on rizon. They have the episodes up to 10 and they are still releasing them. After that you're probably going to have to torrent the anon speedsubs from tokyotosho

So, now that I've decided to look into Gurren Lagenn, any recommendations for irc channels/fansubbers where it's quick and easy to get at?

Best thing is to get the softsubs by Kamina for the first few episodes and then by Anonymous who picked up where Kamina left off. That way you can download the High-Def clockless raws

TV-JAPAN have most of the clockless raws available on their channel, but for some reason not all. I had to get the rest from Japanese P2P program SHARE.

Thanks for the responses Mr.Jeff and Zapp$ter.

Latest Claymore...

these Claymores really seem to come in for a lot of punishment. I guess it makes sense for the awakened beings to seek to increase their numbers by forcibly awakening Claymores. I'm surprised metal bonds could hold a single digit though, even if she was beaten up. I guess they really must have trounced her before restraining her. If the pill suppresses Claire's abilitiy to use her Yoki I wonder how disadvantaged she'll be... she seemed to have little problem using the flash sword, maybe it'll help her with Teressa's ability to predict enemy movements.

The thing with the suppression pill is that while the consumer of the pill can't sense any yoki energy, the enemy also can't sense any yoki energy from the wielder. For the Flash sword, since she's only wielding her energy she's able to use it no problem. But, since Riful, the little girl, is able to pick up on Clare's yoki reading, it's debatable whether the pills she took the day before are still in effect or not.

With regards to the metal bonds holding the single digit, the problem is that since she's injured, she's unabale to accurately control her own yoki energy. So even if she was to power up even slightly, there's no way to say even the ammount of power required to break the bonds wouldn't cause her to awaken. (Like Clare in that temple earlier) So she's most likely bearing with it till she either dies or is rescued.

Ah right, that makes sense. Thanks for the lengthy explanation -_- . Also Frothbite have started churning out Nodame Cantabile episodes again so I'm finally getting back round to that, Mukya!
