Yes, the ending is unfortunately really bad. :o

Lots of speculation! Can't talk about any of it until you finish the final arc. :P The most intersting thing about the Shion arc I found though was the ending to it. It finishes with Keichi in the hospital after being stabbed and at this point Shion's died from falling off the balcony and Mion was throw to the bottom of the pit and killed. But when "Shion" comes to torture Keichi in the hospital, she's wearing the white robe she forced Mion to wear when she threw her down the pit. So does that mean Mion was the on torturing Keichi in the end for perhaps not recognising it was Shion doing all the previous stuff? Or it could just be a small error on the animators part. :)

The scene with Satoko and Shion stabbing her was horrible though. Much worse than the fingernails I thought.

Agh! I'll probably finish it tomorrow then. I'll make a start on the last arc this afternoon if I'm feeling particularly daring.

I thought it might have been Mion about to torture Keiichi in the hospital, too, after seeing Shion fall to her death, although she doesn't really have much of a motive to torture him, I don't think she could be that angry about mistaken identity when she herself let Shion pretend to be her to be around Satoshi. I thought they would have explained that, seeing as a body is found with its fingers nailed etc at the beginning of that arc (the question arc).

I actually thought the fingernails were worse. for the next couple of episodes I winced every time they mentioned it or when I looked at their hands. When they actually showed the damage, I wanted to stop watching! I dunno why, but the stabbing scene didn't have much impact for me - I thought it was quite harmless, like psycho, because you never see the the knife penetrating the flesh. The sound effects were brutal though.

One of the more interesting things about the arc, I thought, was the stuff about hearing footsteps when cursed. And then Rika matching her footsteps to Shion's...

oh and earlier I meant to say that Shion pissing herself was... fucking weird!

Last episode of Nodame :)

Happy ending for the win! I'm such a shameless sucker for cheesy happy endings like that. :o They even managed to keep up the comedy aspect of it it as well which was great. :P Hope they get a second series!

Now to get the manga! Might even give the live-action series a try since it's apparently fairly good as well.

I've really got to get back to Nodame Cantabile and get a move on to finish both that and Sola...

In other news, ep. 14 of Claymore...

Cutting off your own arm, using that arm... what a party trick. Looks like she's picking up more and more signature moves from other Claymores, I wonder if she'll actually develop any of her own eventually... still, an interesting episode, especially now that we know the No. 5 (now No.4) could've actually defeated Irene unless she had both hands, which is something considering Irene's easy disposal of Ophelia without breaking a sweat. I wonder if we'll have a Raki episode next...

Yeah, just watched that myself. :o

Ophelia was pretty bloody stupid to actually not have realised she'd awakened. Hooray for Frankenclaire? I bet she learns how to regenerate or extend her limbs, soon. And then she'll probably get a lambda driver/AT-Field. Um...

She'd been so close to awakening quite some time, it didn't feel that different to her. She already had the bloodlust, the only thing that changed as she awakend was the gutlust.

What actually happens is she gains a giant medievil styled mech painted in the gundam colours of red/blue/white which she can only access by pointing her sword to the sky and screaming "I have the power!".

Obviously! :P

:o I would genuinely love to see that!

Considering she already has the cat eyes, I'll continue to watch the show as long as she doesn't swap her sword for a hooked meat cleaver... or start pretending to be Teresa when talking to Raki on the phone. What?

Quite possibly, well put  .

EDIT: Wow, I'm over 7k posts and I just watched Ep. 14 of Hayate no Gotoku...

Bloody Hell that episode had me twisting myself in knots. Of course they dragged out the realisation as long as humanly possible, good thing I kept telling myself "they can't let him fail, they can't let him fail, they can't let him fail..." Very funny nevertheless, especially Nagi's 'plans for the future' in the Butler Network, I had to do a double take and a quick rewind when I first saw it :).

I didn't think this warranted its own thread and couldn't think of anywhere else to put it. Kanye West's new video is basically a take on Akira.

Don't actually like the song even though I like a lot of his stuff but the video is great!

Kanye West is Akira

...(although it should really say Tetsuo. I like the bit with him in the hospital leaning against the wall after the nurse comes to his room.

I had that problem although I didn't have to rewind! :D I saw the feet of them and saw that the ones with the suit were standing on a wooden box and just as I was thinking "wait, isn't nagi the one that's shorter than hayate" they pan upwards to show hayate in the dress and nagi in the suit. ;)

That said I think it's taken a slight dip in comedy than it was at the start although that could just me. Seto no Hanayome has the edge over I think.

Edit: Stealing this from gaf, apparently Haruhi Season 2 is in the works. That said I can't read it so it could be a giant lie fest.

Edi 2: Taking a quick look at ANN I find this:

Second Haruhi Season to be Announced

Posters on the Japanese 2ch board report that the August issue (officially on sale July 10) of Japan's Newtype magazine revealed the second season of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. The reported coverage of the magazine indicates that the science fiction comedy anime's continuation will be announced on July 7 (07/07/07).

OH MAN! best news ever!

I agree with the dip in HnG though, although I don't think Seto's better than it. The Masa-san first kiss joke was funny for about 2 episodes, I'm glad they'e stopped using it so much... Other than that, I dunno, I just find it a bit flat sometimes.

EDIT: Confirmed in Newtype magazine? There's a small picture of the article in this link...

Great news. Only downside for me is a potentially longer wait for more animated FMP :). I just hope they haven't forgotten about it.

Been enjoying Seto alot more than Hayate myself, which I've not really gotten on with the comedy of since around episode 3, although eps 8-10 were an improvement since then it's been fairly mixed again. Not saying it's bad, I like the majority of the characters and most episodes are entertaining enough.

Hmm. Well that certainly explains which story it's going to be. All that remians is to wonder what the filler is, how many episodes it's going to be and when I can get my grubby pirate hands on it. ;)

Edit: I'd laugh if this turns out to be nothing but an announcement of details for the new Haruhi games in the works. :)

I heard mainly book four, after the story detailed in the scan - don't spoil it, I'm only on the third! Seems to be picking up where it left off then, great. Thanks for the link to the scan, Zappster.

does lucky star get any better? I watched ep 1 this morning and thought it was tedious beyond belief.

The first episode is a little bland but the rest follows the same pattern. I'd argue that it gets funnier but it from what I've seen on other forums, if you don't like the first couple of episodes, give up. I happen to enjoy it. It's not consistently funny all the way through but I enjoy the character interactions between them all regardless of the humour.

;) One day, it'll be revealed Meh has a secret love for some rubbish anime like Popotan and I'm just going to laugh so hard.

Just read through all 10 and a bit volumes of Nodame Cantabile and it's fantastic stuff. Even the stuff they missed out and the stuff from after where the series finishes is great stuff. Now to carry on with the Berserk manga. 7 volumes down, 16 more to go :)

Oh, now Popotan is the stuff of fucking NIGHTMARES. Honestly, that shit just terrified the crap out of me. Then I think I watched a few episodes of Mahoromatic, and realised that the Japanese are all rampant paedophiles.

But really, explain what's so fucking hilarious about Lucky Star, because it just screamed "INFERIOR AZUMANGA CLONE" to me.

Good intro, mind.

Oh, and enjoy Berserk. It gets really fucking shit after volume 13, then picks up again in style.

I dunno how to explain why I like Lucky Star. Maybe it's because it reminds me of an Azumanga clone. The jokes are a bit more spaced out (yes, I consider them jokes, my sense of humour is shit) but I just enjoy seeing what happens between the 4 main characters. Their conversations are pointlessly meandering and rubbish but I like that.

That said, the first episode is fairly weak compared to some of the other episodes.

Still, it seems that I'm the wierd one for liking a show this way because all I can either see is freaks going "omg! It's kyoani it's amazing plus theirs a gurl who likes anime I luv it!!!1" in an otaku fashion or people that just goes "I've seen it before, it's nothing new and I'm not laughing" and then precede to mention every single animation glitch in the episode with time codes. But hey, you're free to like what you want, I pass no jugement. :(

Well I say pass no judgement but if anyone liked Popotan you're beyond help. I mean, I like just about anything but after 2 episodes I felt sorry for the animators for having to create it.

The Berserk manga, now that's great. Granted the stuff I'm one is just re-telling the anime but it does it so well.

I enjoy Lucky Star, while it's never been a 'OMG MEGA-LULZ!!!!' kinda show for me, I think it holds a certain charm. I find it amusing watching the cast of characters interact, just because I like how well defined their characters are. Plus, the animation is pretty nice and the endless references are a cheap but easy way to win my approval. I'm so shallow.

I've started on Bokurano, now that's all kinds of messed up, eh!

The thing with Berserk is that I can't help get the feeling that it'll never ever finish in the author's lifetime. The way chapters are released now is something like 1 or 2 chapters in a month, then a 4 month break, 2 or 3 chapters in 1 month, 4 month break. Going to take forever and sometimes I wish they'd cut down on the art detail a bit and get on with the story if that's what it takes to get going.
