You know Bibly's going to explode when he reads that and he'll end up giving the full life history of the pair of them including dates of birth and chidori's 3 measurements. :)

Frankly, I can't wait! :(

p.s. watched the first arc of Higurashi earlier, I quite liked it, although the dialogue is a bit random in places. Pretty creepy stuff!

Don't think I'm ever going to eat a sweet rice ball though!

:(

Now that the first arc has given you a quick taste of how things stand it'll quickly push on into deeper and darker stuff. I'm always supressing a whimper when

I see Rena go into her insane mode where her eyes turn like cats and she starts starts wielding axes and asking questions.

:)

Just watched Tokyo Godfathers - utter class!

Yeah. It's a bit soppy but it's a Christmas fairy tale so I can forgive it for that.

Check out Paprika as well - the style is still there but it's a very different kind of film. It reminded me a lot of The Cell with the premise of entering people's dreams to help psychological trauma, though the dream worlds aren't quite as mental as those of the film. Well, they are mental, but in a Japanese way - the dream parade is sinister and menacing, yet made up of kids toys, dolls, robots and giant walking shrine gates.

So when does School Rumble start again?

There's still no mention of a 3rd season of School Rumble either because of a lukewarm reaction to the second series or due to them not liking/being far enough through the current manga to create a new series.

I watched the HD version of the second season and didn't notice a different VA in episode 12, am I just oblivious or was it shown later or something?

Forgot to address this point. The HD version also had the different VA. IIRC it was just an upscaled version of the standard TV raws at the time so everything would have been the same between the HD and the normal TV releases (only difference being the video resolution really). It was only the DVD version of the final episode that had the original Takemoto VA since they decided to redub it because by that time he'd recovered from his accident.

Totally. But, I, after reading your post, have decided to watch Fumoffu. Just because. And I have forgotten why Sousuke is protecting Chidori. Ah well.

oh wait, didn't she have some funny weapons memory thingy?

whatever, I'm only in it for the laughs.

Whoo, my posts had a positive effect! (If watching anime can be called a 'positive effect').

She's one of the Whispered, so yeah, she has knowledge of black technology in her subconscious somewhere, along with Tessa amongst others

You know it  . In fact I'm more interested in the novels at the moment, but I don't think anyone in this thread reads 'em so there's nobody to talk to them about -_- .

I heard this as well, it saddened me at the time... and it saddens me now :( .

In other news, Claymore 13...

Well... a bundle of surprises there. I WAS right on the money about another Claymore intervening though :P . The Organisation should really go looking for Claymores who weren't originally severely mentally/emotionally damaged though, they have such terrible luck with powerful single digit warriors going crazy after failing and remembering their lost loved ones, if only they tried to recruit more well-adjusted members of society into their organisation then maybe this sort of thing wouldn't happen . Pretty good plan of Claire's actually, shame it cost her her arm >_>;;. Looks like she's gone back to being one of the weakest again, being only 'one quarter' yoma. But she's one quarter Terresa, so that's GOT to count for something, right ^_^ .

If you point me in the right direction of where to begin on said novels I'll catch up. :P

Claymore:

Of course the main problem the organisation suffers is from where to get their recruits. I mean they can take in orphans but most of those orphans are going to be from families whose parents were murdered by yoma. You can't exactly nick them from other people or create breeding stock villages otherwise you'll create even more of a bad impression on the human population. So you're left with volunteers(few 8 year old girls grow up wanting to be half human, half-demon warriors :P) or you have to rely on the crazy orphans.

The anime's moving on at a fair old pace it must be said and they're not even cut much, if anything out. Wonder if they'll crack at the end of the 1st series and publish the manga faster to get out a second series. I mean, it took them 6 years to get to the point they're at now. ^_^

Ahh, I must've been too busy holding back the tears to notice. (Imagine Osaka trying to 'get it together'). I'll track it down!

Claymore:

I'm guessing Clare's added humanity will end up being her strength. Or something equally cheesy. At any rate, now we have a training arc. Woo?

Cheers Bibly.

Now I'm going to go scare myself.

Edit: Agh! it's the

knife scene!

Also, why would anyone name a cafe 'Angel Mort'?

Yeah, I saw Paprika recently. And Millennium Actress, and Paranoia Agent. I've been on a bit of a Satoshi Kon spree recently, and of all his animations I've seen so far, Tokyo Godfathers is probably my favourite. It's probably down to the characters and their wonderful expressions more than anything else. I'll watch Paprika again soon as a lot of it went right past me, the ending especially. It all seemed to happen at once and I don't think I had a chance to take any of it in. But yeah, Blobcat - why didn't you pick up that second hand copy you saw? Bwaragrahgrh.

I would have read them, but someone was a bit reluctant to part with them

It's good to hear that the anime is following the manga, we wouldn't want to have another GTO on our hands  .

I don't suppose people would volunteer (or volunteer their children) to become Claymores willingly... guess they have to rely on the wacked out orphans... of course wanting to become a half-human, half-demon monster probably already says something significant about your mental state

Agh! I thought I'd get away from the creepiness of Higurashi, (Just watched the second arc where it looks like

Mion is the killer

) so I put on Fumoffu. NO! I couldn't escape... Mion came back to haunt me... as the voice of Chidori! -_-

Big service episode for Mr.Bibly Sousuke and Mr.Imp Kyon in Lucky Star. Amazing scenes.

That's next on my "To-watch" list, but I just saw Sola 12...:

The fighting was pretty impressive in my opinion. Those two can really go at it. As for the end of the episode... am I the only one who was slightly freaked out by Aono's expression as she was pinned down? And her expression as the sword arced downwards? I guess this all confirms my original hypothesis of Aono being the crazy psycho one, what a control freak. Bit fortunate for Matsuri that putting her life into the sword doesn't prevent her from walking across the stage to stick it through Aono, eh?

Oh man, that was amazing.

I noticed a couple of other things, too. Konata's computer is essentially the same as the SOS-dan's, right down to the booting up noise and power button. I loved all the cosplayers, the nico robin one was pretty good!

my favourite part was

Kagami's reaction to the SousukeXGauron doujin. So good!

As for Sola,

I wonder what it is about anime/manga characters that lets them walk around whilst being pierced by a sword or such.

I really have no idea how it's going to end though. I think I heard about news some new episode coming out on DVD...

Right... Nodame 22 now...

This might be considered a small manga spoiler, just can't remember if it has been said yet in the anime. Doesn't really ruin anything:

They usually don't get volunteers. Clare was the only one. It's hinted that the do steal kids later on..

They really do need to speed the manga up, having it monthly is crazy. It's too good for that.

I suppose they could reverse the images and then alter the text to fit the changes so that "they're coming from the left!" becomes "they're coming from the right" and so forth but it's probably more trouble than it's worth. Plus there's probably the whole thing of wanting to keep it as authentic as possible.

Just zoomed through Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid for Mr.Bibly so I can read the manga. Bit disappointed at how short it was but them's the breaks. Great mix of comedy and action as usual. Especially loved the ending.

Next series up for the watch; Bizarre genderless lesbian pilot action show! :D

Could someone help me with an episode of Samurai Champloo? I'm s bit onfused with this episode:

Its number 23 and the travellers have stumbled upon a 500 year old mineshaft. Everyone is a zombie but noone realises it until the end. Right at the end the head zombie hits his banjo and an asteroid wipes everyone out. The end. Yet in the very next episode (about baseball) its as if nothing has happened. eh? It didnt seem to be a joke or am I missing the point

Manga? The novels you mean ;P. I did find the series a bit short, but that meant it didn't drag or have any filler. Action/comedy packed goodness :D .

Well, to be honest I found the later few episodes of that show to be really incongruous. I just don't think it's supposed to actually make sense. I mean

The whole magic/zombies thing doesn't really fit in with the theme of the rest of the show does it... I just found it incredibly weird and moved on.

Thank God for that. Ive only 2 more episodes to go and it hasnt been mentioned again. For a minute I thought that Id missed a huge part of the tale but it looks like a one off  Im really looking forward to the end of this and Im hoping Foo tells Jean that she love him!

What show is this :) ?

If I were to hazard a guess, Simoun?

It was one of my favourite shows from 2006 (I seem to be saying that alot lately :) ). It's weird and I didn't like the first few episodes but around episode 7 or 8 I got addicted to it and it really grew on me. Loved it by the end.

It's a rather strange series called Simoun. Saw the first few episodes and found it rather bizarre but ever so slightly interesting. Plus, y'know, lesbians*. :)

Edit: Beaten by Zapp$ter!

Edit 2: I didn't start it solely based on the fact it had lesbians in it just so you know. I read the synopsis for it somewhere and it sounded vaguely interesting for being so wierd so I decided to give it a try. The lesbians bit was a bonus. :)
