I'm not expecting a great storyline for DMC. Much like the games I'll be happy with some stylish (and hopefully well animated) action sequences and some cheesy one liners from Dante. If they can pull off an intriguing storyline then great. Not expecting much from it so here's hoping I'm not disappointed.

Time for a new series! Im on the last 8 episodes of Samurai Champloo (which is quite frankly astounding) and want to pick another series. Ive recently seen Noir, Cowboy Bebop, Zone of the Enders, Noir and Neon Genesis Evangelion. What should I go for next? I dont fancy anything bonkers just something with a good story and a bit of humour. Similar to Bebop and Samurai if possible.

Toldyaso! About Samurai Champloo being astounding, that is. I recommend: Darker than Black from the current season. It's beautiful, has great action sequences and the story seems to just be picking up. Or for if you'd rather go for something older and on DVD, maybe you could pick up the film Ninja Scroll? I can't think of anything else right now... it's 2.30 in the morning where I am.

Man, I've been away from the internet for a week and now I have about a million shows to catch up on. I downloaded the first episode of DMC subbed by ":D" - which was appalling so I didn't make it past 5 minutes. I think it's been properly subbed now, so I'll check it out.

I've not even started downloading Higurashi yet, and the new season's coming up! Agh! Speaking of which... I really like the look of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Baccano and Moetan which are all coming up. :D

And Bibly's changed his avatar. WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

Romeo x Juliet and Claymore both have some action from the current season. The latter perhaps more so, with the former having more comedy/romance. Both are very good (as is Darker Than Black of course).

I've changed my avatar?! News to me! What is it now that it wasn't before?

Eureka SeveN might be worth a shot.

imp: DMC has been subbed by a proper group, kuro-hana, so you'll be able to make some sense of it. New Higurashi season's not until the 7th so you've got some time.

Edit: At the request of Mr.Bibly, I've to post this amsuing Kanon sig I stole from animesuki forums.

Good call.

Saw an anime earlier this year, it was about a group of mercenaries who worked together, usually on a boat. It was aceness.

Trigun, Seven Kingdoms and GTO was all great. I'd really recommend One Piece, though you'll be busy with it for a while.

Just finished Black Lagoon and I've really enjoyed it - didn't do much in the character development department but it felt like they were doing it to show the stubbornness of the characters and the complicated lives they had led to end up the way they did.

I hope there's a third season which will answer a few questions but I won't hold my breath.

(Started two days ago when I read Mr. Jeff's post.)

Ahh, finally got round to watching Honey and Clover. What a fantastic show. I didn't like it much at first so I left it for a few months, but around episode 13 when the episodes started to focus on other characters, I thought it became far more interesting. J. C. Staff seem to have a knack for animating shows which make you really feel like you're going to miss watching the characters progress through their lives.

Really well subbed by Solar & Ideology too, and speaking of which, I saw an interesting name in the credits... Zappster! ???

OH and Bibly; I realised that your avatar was censored - I was seeing the thai internet 'censored' logo. They sure like to censor stuff here.

Heh. Well I don't like to toot my own horn so I usually don't mention it, but yeah I'm involved with some subbing groups. Probably the reason why I find it so hard to keep up with the amount of shows I'm following sometimes.

I love the show (it's one of my top 10), especially with characters like Takemoto who I really identified with a lot. I loved his development as the first season in particular progressed. I don't think there's any character that I disliked or hated, much like Genshiken in that regard. I could identify with them all and the situations they were in as I was watching it at the start of my uni life. The music as well was fantastic, especially the ending songs to both seasons, my favourite being waltz and the piano version of it. I From what I'm hearing it is licensed by Viz(first season only I think and it still has to be confirmed) hopefully they do a good job of it and manage to keep the insert songs and stuff. Oh and in case you missed it you might want to get the DVD rip of ep 12 of the second season since it was redubbed by the original VA for Takemoto, who was involved in a car accident during the time the dubbing was being completed for the show so another VA took his place in ep 12 in the TV version.

How topical... I watch ep. 13 of Hayate no Gotoku and...

He fails the entrance exam to the Academy, just as I have a crucial A-level exam tomorrow. This better not be a harbinger of things to come! :D The episode wasn't that bad in itself, but I guess I'm not in the mood for exam jokes right now ;_;.

Oh gawd, Welcome to the NHK gets so depressing later on, especially when you can see quite a bit of yourself in the main character. It made me cry damnit!

It's probably one of my favorite anime's of all time though, well worth watching.

I'm sure you'll be fine. Good luck on the exam!

Thanks, I might need it :) .

I'd been considering this anime, maybe I will pick it up. Despite the possibilities for a chilling reflection of what I've become being presented to me :) .

The manga from what I read takes a massive detour from the anime. It's really massively more disturbing than any of the scenes from the anime. Loved the series though.

I knew I'd recognised your name from somewhere outside forums Zapp! Good work on Honey and Clover which I really must aquire the second series. I liked the first one but it sort of didn't really go anywhere.

From the beginning to end, it's all pretty much exactly how it was at the start, albeit that takemoto says he loves hagu at the end.

Me being blind didn't notice that it was also by the same people as Nodame Cantabile until someone pointed out the obvious a few weeks ago.

Good luck Bibly!

Thanks for all the best wishes guys, much appreciated. Thank the Lord it's all over now anyway... until results day ;) .

I watched Romeo x Juliet ep.11 last night...

Is it just me or are these two really quite deluded kids? They ran away without money, food, change of clothes or any supplies whatsoever. Now they've given away their ride and their playing dress-up in the Church and getting 'married'. So much for Juliet's committment to the Capulet cause, or even towards saving her comrades, silly wench ;) . I hope Tybalt just goes and gets it done, silly Juliet has either really got to develop a spine or stop raising peoples' hopes unecessarily ;).

They're in love! Of course they're deluded fools! It's the whole "We're both so happy together we don't have a care in the world" syndromme. Cue massive reality check which leaves them both going "Oh, bugger".

Loved how they put in the "Wherefore art thou Romeo?" quote into the series though. ;)
