Turns out the director of the Bokurano anime hates the manga version so has asked the creator of the manga if he can change it to give it a more a cheerful conclusion. The creator has then replied saying that as long as he doesn't use magic to make it all better he's free to give it a shot.

Begs the question really, why direct a series you hate then change it away from how it was supposed to end.

Presumabely it has something to do with the small tet that was shown yes. It's a bit hard to translate into english a fragmented sentence in japanese so I'd imagine that's why they left it alone. I feel a bit sorry for Yuko when bitchy Yuko started laying into her at the lockers.

Interesting stuff mind. Love the little Mojo's.

She seemed pretty shocked/surprised by it though, so SHE must've been able to get some meaning out of it... maybe the audience was supposed to be left in the dark and the fragment only meant something to her. And that locker bit was rather harsh, although mad props to the Encoder for working out her past. I thought it was rather surprising that those two launched a cyber-attack on her as well, I thought they might try and come to her aid, seeing as she was pretty much being bullied/harrassed 'n all . Especially after the whole "I want to be friends" speech.

You never know, it might still turn out to be good. All he's really said is that any serious fans of the manga should probably stay away from the anime. Whether that's because it makes huge changes or the changes that he did make are different enough to annoy fans I dunno.

Edit: Besides Meh, how are you going to be able to criticize it for the next 3 years at every oppurtunity if you don't watch it?

Having just watched Sola 11...

What a cliff-hanger, and yet, it feels like it should be winding down (people forgetting/leaving)... I'm still not quite sure yet why we're having an Aono-Matsuri face-off, but I imagine Yorito must have been playing for more than one side and done a deal with Matsuri of some sort... Of course I was wrong about Aono being an utter crazy bitch, so I may be wrong about this. Also, in the post-preview bit... that music was from AIR, right? It's been a while since I listened to that OST, memories eh?

Time for a new series! Im on the last 8 episodes of Samurai Champloo (which is quite frankly astounding) and want to pick another series. Ive recently seen Noir, Cowboy Bebop, Zone of the Enders, Noir and Neon Genesis Evangelion. What should I go for next? I dont fancy anything bonkers just something with a good story and a bit of humour. Similar to Bebop and Samurai if possible.

Watched the first Hellsing OVA tonight. Nice and bloody, nice big budget, ace fight at the end... but the music pales in comparison next to the stuff in the series.

I don't actually watch Death Note so I'm not really the one to ask . I'm not sure the amount of episodes for Dennou Coil has been announced yet, but if you're an anime noob there's plenty of other stuff you could be sampling:

This thread would be able to come up with loads of recommendations if you ask, I'd also suggest Neon Genesis Evangelion as a classic which should be watched.

Hmm, you might be right there. Definitely looking forward to the end too!

Oh, and you should sample the AIR OST if you liked the series, not really much innovation from the background songs etc. but it really is nostalgic to listen to once in a very long while.

So... didn't take long to meet the notorious number 4, Ophelia. For such a powerful awakened being that huge tentacle girl monster really did underestimate her. Fancy not knowing that some Claymores could recover from a broken neck . I'm guessing we might not see so much of Raki for now (unless he gets even MORE screentime devoted to his 'quest', which could be well boring) and perhaps another Claymore duel! My money's on someone from the organisation (probably more Claymores) will somehow intervene when Ophelia and Clare face-off. All to watch for!

Thanks to A-levels (only half way through ) I'm still behind on Hayate no Gotoku, 2 Romeo x Juliet episodes, Darker Than Black... gah, better get back to revision.

Well, it's already been quite graphic as far as shows I watch go *cough* tentacle entry wound rape *cough* although not quite Elfen Lied levels yet. So if even more graphic stuff doesn't get put in I won't mind too much, so long as the story/developments aren't affected too much ^__^.

I've got so much on my plate I haven't even got round to downloading it. I'll probably be busy with other anime/exams for a while longer, so when you watch the next (few) why don't you come back and report how it is. If it develops into something rather good then maybe I'll give it a spin. I played through the first game, and know pretty much all that happens in the 2nd and 3rd so it shouldn't be too hard to get into the series (if it's good).

In other news, latest Hayate was really quite good (imho).

In true fourth wall shattering fashion, we get the "My background was a hamster?!" and the mega-confrontation was similarly cool. I am definitely loving this series so far! Any guesses as to Nagi's decision?

Had a looksee at the first episode of the DMC anime. It's not half bad. It's a bit irritating to have a random child character involved in it though since I think it may tone down the violence a tad. Besides, it's suppossed to be Dante versus most of the underworld aint it? Still, the fights were pretty funky. Only played the first game slightly(the controls annoy me too much) but I think it's something different from the game's storylines. Maybe.

Has anyone tried kaibutsu Oujo (or "Monster Princess" as it is also known) yet? I have ploughed through the first six episodes in one sitting and I'm loving the daftness of it all. It's like a mental anime version of Castlevania, the bold and colourful animation is great as is the soundtrack.

I've also been watching that as well. It's not a bad little show. The storyline's a bit simple so far although it might change and I want to kill the lead guy as much as everyone else seems to but it's fairly enjoyable watch.

Also, I stopped watching Death Note after ep 21 or so. Got too far fetched, and boring with the switched emphasis on the main char. Worth sticking around for?
