Nodame Cantabile. It's kind of like Honey & Clover but set in a music school rather than the art stuff from H&C. Very good stuff IMO. I'd recommend to anyone who wants something new to watch if only for them to check out a few episodes of it. It's one of the few shows I have to see as soon as it's out subbed and at the risk of hyping it too much I'll just stop now.

You can't hype it up enough  It was reading through your's and Tobal's comments on ntsc-uk that made me start watching it! It really is such a fantastic series. Makes me grin every single time. And to try and tempt Bibly into watching it, main male lead is voiced by none other than Sergeant Sagara Sousuke himself(different personality obviously mind)

Argh. Just talking about it is making me itch for the next episode.

It's a series called Yakitate Japan. I've previously avoided it since, I mean, it's bread but after reading numerous comments on here and elsewhere I've heard it's apparently worth getting over my pre-conceived notions of it and giving it a shot.

Well, after I've caught up with my weekly downloads that is.

I really recommend a film called Toki wa Kakeru Shoujo. (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time). It's really quite amazing with lots of really fun moments and bits of sadness.

Go watch :P

Lol... the latest episode of Lucky Star had a reference to that if I recall correctly (as well as a huge host of other anime etc. :P ).

I'm just watching Lucky Star 4.... so...many...references....!! especially to KyoAni series...

okay, I've counted:

Kanon, Haruhi, Fumoffu, the Lucky Star DS game, Death Note (maybe), Vagabond (I think), Haruhi again, The (recently replaced) director Yutaka Yamamoto being rubbish at directing Haruhi, Fumoffu again, SOS-dan in the credits... I think the references alone made that my favourite episode so far.

Not been following Anime much in the last year or so. Anyone care to point me in the direction of any recent movies worth watching?

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. There's a sub out on the "usual" sites under the name Toki wa Kakeru Shoujo.

I grabbed this the other day, not watched it yet.

I'm very much enjoying Claymore at the moment, which surprises me as it's the kind of thing I'd normally not look twice at. It might be to do with the fact that it's one of the only Anime shows I've been able to watch week by week as it comes out, as opposed to downloading the first 50 episodes of something in one go. It's always pretty daunting to go into something like that, and usually I just end up putting them aside for when I retire or win the lottery.

The Heroic Age has some nice designs and ideas, though it's a little baffling. I've watched the first two so far.

Is anyone watching Darker Than Black?

I am. I was considering Claymore, but I've got so much going on now. I'll get it when it's done off of a friend :P.

But yeah, Darker Than Black, looking cool :P!

My favourites out of the new anime season are Lovely Complex, Claymore and Nagasarete Airantou. Darker than black is shaping up to be pretty wicked but the last episode i saw was pretty shocking with

the little girl setting people on fire and the severed limbs flying about

:P .

Every time I get up to buy Fruits basket I remember what a cock up it is compared to the manga.

If you never want to find out what happens in the story, watch the anime and enjoy it, it's really good. But never read the manga as the anime will leave a bad taste in your mouth how the hell they got away with it (fingers crossed for a new series).

I will get it at some point but right now, I'm still waiting for the next manga (August I believe)

Five episodes into Nodame Cantabile and loving it. Apart from all the laughs it really reminds me how piss-poor I am at music compared to true students of music :P . But at the same time, reminds me how difficult it is to play things perfect on demand (unless you're a pro like Chiaki obv.).
