Yep, Darker than Black is looking to be something mighty fine. I wonder what Li's(can't remember his real name) price for being a contractor is?

Maybe it's having to eat a lot like he was doing in the restaurant?

Also really enjoying where sola is heading as well. It reminds me so much of Kanon but in a good way. Hopefully it continues on with it's interesting story.

Second ep of Lucky star to watch now. :)

Considering how you enjoyed Kanon though, it should be right up your street.

And the second ep of Lucky Star was good as well.

Loved the bit where, err, blue haired girl(I'm fucking rubbish at remembering names!), who has the same voice as haruhi gets a fantastic score on the game where the haruhi music is playing. :)

I do go by recommendations some of the time, but some things my friends like (involving horror etc.) aren't usually up my street ^__^.

I did enjoy Kanon, but I felt let down by its incredible obvious similarities to AIR in art and concept, but inferiority as a series (I felt).

Oh yeah, I'd forgotten that spoiler bit, LOL-tastic. References always rock when you recognise them.

I'm slowly getting through Kanon (2006), I wasn't instantly taken in by it, but I'm 10 episodes in now and I'm really starting to like it. Although, those bastards at Kyoto Animation were cruel

dragging out Makoto's death for two episodes!

I'm finding it quite moving, really.

And yeah, Darker than black is shaping up to be something really special!

Although I thought the switch from regular to emotionless Li was slightly cheapened by the girl not being a real person, I mean, it lessened my dislike for the character. He's certainly an interesting character!

I've not watched Sola though because I'm watching Kanon, and I'm intent on not over watching that type of show.

Yeah that part of the series was the reason why I put off finishing it for so long.

The gradual decline somehow made it so much worse than if she'd just gone one day

. Oddly enough though, I had no problem with the rest of the series. :(

I don't know if it's just me being too easy to please but there seems to be a fair bit of quite decent anime about this season.

So my GF dragged me through the first two eps of Touka Gettan, so here's what I made of the first two eps...

So I start watching this series, you know, on good faith. I mean, I like Yamibou, and Strawberry eggs isn’t too shabby. So hey, why not give it a go, I mean, it looks Purdy! So the episode starts and there is this man-girl standing about, and he’s like “Watch me vanish into thin air, because I’m sick of it!” to which some little girl with long hair runs in and goes “All right! Free clothes!”.

Switch to some writer lady who is being stalked by the vanishing guy from afar… we’ll never see him again mind, well, not until he starts pulling out some sword from his stomach… but that’s ep 2, so it doesn’t make sense yet, right? Anyway, the writer lady has this assassin guy from hell (I know he’s from hell, because he has the red eye… which he got from saving his dad… and what thanks did he get? He got to watch his dad have sex behind a curtain, now THAT’S gratitude!) anyway, but he knows the girl, he knows her from the past, so his eye falls out.

Meanwhile, some girl with loaf of bread in her mouth makes out with Utena on a train platform, which didn’t make any sense, but hey… first ep right?

While this is going on, some schoolgirl is cruising down the road in her red sports car picking up random chicks, she scores and that’s the last we see from her this ep.

Anyway, the girl guy is walking about aimlessly, just letting his hair blow in the wind… but he’s got a phone… I dread to think why.

So that was ep one, I thought it was a bit strange to be honest, but you know, may have just been me. I’m probably just slow or something.

So ep 2 came along, and I avidly downloaded it, almost on the edge of my seat as the download finally hit 100%. I had to know what was going on, I couldn’t wait… Classic in the making here!

So it starts off with this girl waking up, she had garlic breath but that’s not important, anyway, she like TOTALLY slept with this random schoolgirl the night before, so I’m like “YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH”, but anyway, the schoolgirl she slept with, she’s like gotta go perform some song later, so she just ditches her, but only after stealing her panties, and I’m like “YEAH, I’d totally do that if I ever slept with a girl”

So it turns out, the guy, who is a girl, is actually a guy.

Then we get more chars, because this series is in a dire need of more characters. More characters equal fun times for someone like me who likes watching epic animes. So there are these new chars all sitting about theatre, AND OHMY GOD, EPIC FOOD FIGHT! I mean, they were using like super powers to throw tomatoes at each other, and I was like “YEAH, the only thing that could make this any better would be more lesbian kissing”. AND OH MY GAWDS, I never saw it coming, but this girl, who was a god, who was actually the writer lady who had made the guys eye fall out, the one from before… anyway, she TOTALLY made out with her sister. And I was like “YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH”

Anyway, some girl started singing, well I say singing, but I’m not sure as my ears were bleeding at the time, and that was no good. Anyhoo, this girl had a dragon in her which makes everyone glow when she sings. So the girl who is actually a guy pulls this sword out of his stomach in a total utena rip off, and his mom is like “Yeah, see, you’re that guy from the past who like killed everyone” and then he hits back with “No way mom, I’m like totally not that dude you are on about!” To which she replies “Oh, awh well” Then she dies.

TOTALLY AWESOME AND EPIC!

The girl stops singing her poem and every is like doing the golf clap, and youcan see it in there eyes, they are just SOOOOOOOOOO glad it’s over. Anyway, back to the writer lady who may or may not still be possessed, her phone starts ringing,and she’s like” I never get signal here!” I mean…

AWESOME CLIFFHANGER!

EPIC SERIES! I can’t wait for episode 3.…

No wait….

Yes I can wait, screw this series!

On a side note, did you guys actually like the first ep of lucky star?

Im looking at 2 series on DVD at the moment to get me back into the swing of things The Big O and Cowboy Bebop. Anything else I should consider? I already own NGEvangelion, Zone of the Enders and numerous single films. What other good series should I be reconsidering to watch?

I'd recommend FMP! personally, but that's just me ^__^.

The series that has dragged me back to anime recently is "Death Note." It's a shame I can't persuade my bird to watch it because she loves shows like Heroes and 24 and I've found it equally as addictive as either. Are there any other DN apppeciators about who would like to reccomend another series for me to start on?

I just finished watching Azumanga and I've got nothing else to tide me over until Higurashi season 2 ;) The first episode of Lucky Star seemed like watching 4 Osakas talk to each other for 20 minutes, but I might as well watch a couple more before giving up on it.

How people can have nothing to watch in this new anime season is absolutely baffling. My weekly list has jumped from a measly 3 series to about 30 all of which I'm relatively enjoying. (Touka Gettan and Shining Tears X Wind being the exceptions)

If you like Noir, then you'll like ANYTHING.

This might explain how I have so many series to watch though. ;)

Noir is SHIT.

Watch Haruhi. It's all you can do to save your soul, really, after watching all of that fucking horror.

I am so tempted to give FMP another go because of Bibly, I must say. Got about half-way through, and just felt BORED.

I really didn't like it either, and I saw it through to the end. I liked fumoffu a lot though.

A Lovely Complex 01 sub has been released, I'm just downloading it now, will probably report back tonight!

Kanon I'm still enjoying a lot, but

man does Kyon Yuichi have friends with bad luck/are just plain mentally unstable. I'm at about episode 20 and now Ayu's gone all weird (dead?) too!

Watching episode 3 now(god knows why) and I've just seen that scene. If you thought the screen caps were fucked up, it's even worse when you see some of the lines that they come up with. Totally and utterly wrong.

Edit: On the subject of why it makes no sense, I think they're trying to put the series in a haruhi-type non-chronological order or something.
