I think I just stayed up till 5.10 in the morning watching Azumanga Daioh. That's crazy. I feel like watching another episode, but sleep is probably a better idea. Good times, goodnight,

I'm off to watch Patlabor 2, for what must be the millionth time. God, I fucking love the Patlabor films - they're the only two anime I can think of where the dubs of at least equal quality to the original language track.

Get to bed you silly bumface!

I have the biggest urge to watch all of Azumanga Daioh again, which I probably will do when I move home as there is crap all to do in Stirling! Its a series that even though you watch once, you can go back to time and time again. It is like visiting a friend!

You've avoided the third one, I take it?

Yeah. I'd like to see it but I don't fancy paying for the privelige. That said, I don't fancy going to the effort of downloading it either, I'm that put off. In all honesty, I'd come to the conclusion it would be shit long before anybody else said so, just as soon as I realised Oshii wasn't involved in it.

If you're still interested (I actually like it, even though it has sod all connection with the previous films), I can attempt to find my DVD and bring it to Sheffield. There's only 3 boxes that it could be in, though 2 of them are at my sister's house.

Of course. I'm pretty sure I've watched most of it dubbed back when I owned the dvds anyway. I can happily listen to a half decent dub (FMP, Kare Kano and Fruits Basket had well done dubs for example), but I'm not sure offhand what the Excel dub was like. All i remember is they went through two different VA's for Excel herself as the first one almost ruined her voice doing it.

any gore ? lol

Fucking loads.

It seemed very good, as I said earlier. It may fall apart at the very end, but it never showed any signs of that happening.

It's a fairly slow show, but very interesting.

Just watched the end of Kanon.

I must say I'm somewhat disappointed (having never seen the original) I expected it to be of similar emotional power to AIR, but it fell short unfortunately. A touching little tale, but AIR it is not :).

Hopefully Clannad will be better, although it's slated for release in 2008...

Have they got anything planned in between now and then do you know?

If you're after emotional type series, you might want to give Shinigami no Ballad a try. Not quite the same effect as air and kanon but a nice series all the same. :)

Just out of curiosity, any of you guys going to amecon?

www.amecon.org

You know I am!

You going to cosplay? I hope it is a bit more organised than last year, I spent most of my time in catwalk re-runs and performance practise

Also do you ever watch anything there in the video rooms?

I cant honestly say I have now that they only do official releases. I understand why they don't show fansubs anymore, but they don't even have preview stuff

So you did. My bad. I'd even got it written down on my "To watch out for" list.

The Death Note anime is finally picking up again or at least it will in the next week or 2. I couldn't have taken much more of it the way it was going.

Aye, I'm cosplaying Mori from ouran hosts club, with my girlfriend doing Hunni. (and if she has her way, I'll also be doing a maria sama char)

I totally agree with your video room arguments, I miss the days of the fansub room. It used to be a case of you'd go watch something new from the current season, and then you'd go home and a few eps waiting for you to download. The only thing I watched last year was Eureka 7, only so that I could drag my friends along with me.

Glad to hear you are going though! ^^

Urgh, forget the anime. It's trying to systematically ruin a perfectly good manga. >.<

Yay! I'm going with Preacher and if Meh EVER gets round to it him too!

Im planning a Sailor Pluto cosplay and a few video game ones too!

I didnt watch a thing last year, mainly because any time I wasnt doing some form of practise I was in the dealers room. The thing is though I didn't feel excited about seeing anything there as it was all readily available either at the con or online. The fun of watching the fansubs at cons was giving you a taste of what was to come, or if you couldn't get it here buying abroad or downloading it fansubbed. Half the time we didnt have a clue what we were going to go and see. I do understand that now alot of cons have alot of sponsorship from companies they simply can't do that now but its still a bit poo.

The one thing I wanted to see was Spirit of Wonder, and as soon as the viewing was over everyone ran out and bought up the DVDs :(

Bought it at Auchi though!

And guess who is the guests this year... :(
