Another :D from me!

I'm liking you more and more, say you enjoyed NGE and I'm yours :).

The FMP novels are being localised for an english language release by Tokyopop apparently. Providing I hear good stuff about the localisation I will be picking up a copy.

This is true, which is good, but also means I can't read the fan translations which have now halted :D.

Sorry oh wise one, forgive me -_-

Steady now.

Love FMP, FMP Fumoffu is ace too!

Only seen a few eps of 2nd raid, much more serious and violent!

Well it does have

Incestual Lesbian Sisters, all capitalised for emphasis

.

You should enjoy it anyway though!

Some of the novels are pretty lighthearted if you can dig them up -_-.

Well that's Kanon finished. Not really sure what to think tbh. Everything was resolved in the end I guess so that's a plus point.

ON THE OTHER HAND we have to wait even longer for a FMP or The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya sequel with the news that KyoAni will be doing Clannad, another Air/Kanon type thing. :)

That might have been it but I could have sworn I saw something about it on anidb being a series for this spring. Strange.

Nevermind. Must get round to finishing watching kanon. Stopped at about episode 10 I think because it was getting a bit depressing.

The film hasn't been released yet either. I think the CLANNAD film is due sometime this year(september if I recall) produced by Toei Animation and the TV series doesn't have a set date so there's no telling if a possible new series of Haruhi or FMP has been delayed by the recent announcement e.g. they may decide to do FMP and Haruhi before CLANNAD. More info will apparently be forthcoming on the 20th of March.

I hope they DO do FMP or Haruhi first... Clannad should wait :) .

Oh, and I can't wait to finish Kanon, so please nobody spoil it :).

Mr. Jeff I'd really advise continuing with Kanon as I've enjoyed it immensely so far (23/24 episodes :)). I just wouldn't watch too many of them consecutively.

I watch 3 of the fox girls episodes in a row. Steadily getting more depressing as it moves on. It's near the end of her bit so I have to work myself to watch the undoubtedly depressing climax

On a side note, reideen is being subbed. The new series that is. I think some folk on here were interested?

I must say I've been a bit disappointed with Kanon, not a patch on AIR nor KgNE. I just didnt feel anything for the characters. And the whole amnesia thing is really, really tired. I think that should be banned from all narrative, forever. Gonna watch the last episode later this evening.

edit - Clannad isn't due to air until sometime next year iirc. I'm guessing they are doing pre-production on it now, but something else will come out of the KyoAni stable before that.

What did I say about consecutive watching :(

You're certainly right about the comparisons to AIR and KGNE, simply not of the same level, I have enjoyed it nevertheless though.

They (KyoAni) have Lucky Star which is airing in a couple of weeks time. Apparently it's a bit like Azumanga with more otaku-like girls. I've also heard the manga is also not as good so we'll see how it turns out. I will probably watch it since I've enjoyed most of the shows they've put out recently from Fumoffu onwards and that includes Kanon.

Right, I'm finally watching the end of Yakitate Japan. It's taken me a year to watch it despite downloading almost all of it at the same time >.< I've also started catching up on bleach, although I'm encoding some of it to psp format for watching on the go while my iPod is being repaired

I finished watching Serial Experiments Lain, and whilst you could argue it was purely philosophical in it's intentions, it stank at times. To say a "memory can be from tomorrow" is just plain rubbish, possibly one of the wankiest things I've ever heard. It's like they were just desperate to come up with something clever to say at the end. It's worth watching just to check it yourself, but it's very confusing and the resolution is hardly satisfying. After 13 fucking episodes, you'd think they would have made their mind up on what stance they were going to take with the whole human identity theme, but it doesn't say any one thing at all.

A very frustrating series. It's deep alright, but so is a hole in the sand that you twist your ankle in.

Have seen the first episode of it. The CGI in it is terrible. Everything is really dark and foggy and you can barely see what's happening. And the mech and enemy desgins are pretty bad. The mech hardly resembles the original Raideen at all. The story so far has just been typical run of the mill mech storyline too. I'll probably try the next episode too, but unless it improves drastically I can't see me sticking with it.

I really wish Shin-Getter would hurry up and release the original Raideen. These "remakes" are pretty bad.

I found it a bit all over the place at times. Just Shinji's storyline would've been OK but lots of other stuff was flying around it. I don't tend to pick up on subtleties in most films though, so if it isn't signposted I'm usually :)

Taken at face value though it's an absolute cracker.

Good enough for me :D .

As for all the subtleties, I just went on Wikipedia afterwards and "Oohed" and "Aahed" at all the psychological/philosophical stuff which I missed/wasn't aware of.

Dont, just read the manga instead. The anime just chops up the first two or so volumes into a story of sorts. If you realy want it, then get over to boxtorrents, it was there last time I looked around. Otherwise, have a look on anidb and see which groups have done rips of it, then you'll be able to find it on eDonkey / eMule and the like.

Yeah I've read all the manga, I'm just wanting to get my girlfriend into the idea of it and I thought the OVA might be a good starting point. I can't find a torrent of it thats not in OGM format, doesn't boxtorrents require a membership?

Had a look at the first episode just now. I see what you mean about the cg, it really is fairly poor considering some of the stuff that gets released nowadays. I'll stick with for a bit I think. It seemed fairly slow to start off with any kind of plotline so I'll give it a wee bit before I abandon it. Besides, there's not much new stuff kicking around to watch at the moment.

I'm fairly sure that Boxtorrents closed registrations a while back, invite only now. I'm not sure, though.
You can still use the downloads from boxtorrents. You need to be a member to search for a particular item though so if you're not a member you have to scroll through all their series till you find what you're after. Although thankfully, you can sort between ova's series and manga so that's a small bonus. :D

Alternatively, you could have a look on isohunt.com. It generally has the torrents from boxtorrents as results from a search anyway. Or have a look on tokyotosho.com as well. :)
