me and my flatmate just finished watching Elfen Lied tonight (over the past 2 nights) and I did really enjoy it. Got a bit confusing near the end at times, but I understand now what happened. Sucks about the unfinished ending though.

Will track down this OVA episode they made just for completist sake (i understand it doesnt add much to the story, except background about lucy?)

NEXT what Anime series should we watch? Someone along the same lines really. Again a small amount of episodes (ie 5-12 hours) would be nice.

Not the tv series, the 3 part 'movie'.

Dead good little series, fun to watch :( Can get it for around a tenner in sales.

I've just got back to watching Utena after a break (i got way too confused). went back a disk and I somhow missed about 4 episodes and it now makes sence.

Next series I shall get/watch is either

Habane renmai *Got the first dvd, very good*

GTO *will almost certainly be buying at some point, watched around 20 eps of it throughout uni's anime soc and thoroughly enjoied it*

Berserk *as long as it has the outtakes on the dvd, Im buying it.*

Elfin lied I only watched the first few episodes and the last 2. Really must get around to watching the whole thing.

I tried giving NaNa a chance but I really couldnt take to it. I might try again seeing as I downloaded it all >_<

Oh! I got sushi for lunch today, and I got me some wooden chopsticks...and I could't resist...

Only seen an amv using Nana the anime. It didnt make me desparate to watch it, I really love the manga though.

NANA and Fruits basket are my favorite manga atm, but I now have all that have been published in english so I'm sitting around waiting for the next books!

I think Gankutsuou is one of my favorite anime of all time. Its so gripping, the story is so intense and climatic! Plus its gorgeous to watch.

Oh, and I think of that bit in Daioh every time I pull apart chopsticks (and fear bad luck if it breaks badly!)

Ooh, that's the awesomely pretty sci-fi adaptation of the Count of Monte Christo, isn't it? I must get around to watching the rest of it at some point...

I even did the chopstick thing the night before an exam.

I am THAT sad :P

You really should. I'm watching it for the second time at the moment and it seems even more beautiful/painful than I remember. I say painful because knowing where the Count's macinations are leading to... :P It's skillfully done with almost each episode topping the previous for artistry and suspense.

whats the most GOREY anime series/ film of all anime history. Just wondering! (and is it any good!)

I watched some film a while ago that was proclaimed to be the goriest but it wasnt that great and the story was all over the place. (started with a U)

You can always tell when someone's been watching Urotsukidoji since they'll always begin a sentence with something like "There's some really fucked anime out there" or "Omg I watched something and there were all these tentacles everywhere!!1" :angry:

4 episodes in to Serial Experiments Lain, and it's starting to annoy at how very little is happening. I know it's all meant to be a bit mysterious, but this it's just trodding over the same ground every episode and saying nothing new. I like it's style, but does it get interesting soon?

Woah, I forgot to do that before my ASes and my AS retakes, I'll try to make sure to do it for my A2s :( , I'll need to find disposably chopsticks first though :( .

Hmm, I'm trying to think of the pacing in the early episodes... it's never that 'fast' a series, but things do start to happen as it progresses - can't remember how much it changes as it goes on. It's been a long time, and I enjoyed it from start to finish, so...

Hmm, just be thankful you're not giving serious consideration to using them for your finals!

I think I gave up a bit after that.

I hate anime which gives people powers with no actual limit - or they never make a rule for it. Just seems like a cheap plot tool which ruins any suspense because you know that their power of good/heart/spirit/mind or whatever other word they want to use for bullshit will prevail in the end.

just finished watching the remade version of the Guyver.

i used to love that show when it was shown on the sci fi channel all those years ago even though they never finished the first version.

it did leave me slightly confused though, im a sucker for any story along the lines of ancient race comes along and does groovy shit and leaves super advanced tech behind to be discovered later, so i wanted to know more about the creators.

i also wanted to know more about alkanphel, and the way they left the state of the world at the end of the last episode (26?). i wanted some zoalord on gigantic action. it was cool to finally see it all the way through, but i did want more.

FMA is a 51 episode long series (entirely unrelated to FMP!) pertaining to alchemists and various fantasy things, most people enjoy it and it's one of the top-rated series on AnidB, but Meh doesn't like it.

2nd Raid is the continuation of FMP!, I'd watch it after Fumoffu.

"Obsessed", I'm trying to spread the word about a really cool/funny/entertaining series! I'm not crazy... you all are... you're a threat... you'll have to be eliminated... if only I could find a way of making this post self-destruct people's computers... :P .

I give up, I'm obssesed :) . I even read the novels.
