This happens a fair bit with Shonen Jump manga to anime translations. Mixing it up keeps it fresh. Especially if you've read the manga.

Yeah, it's great the way they keep it fresh by inserting bullshit into it to artificially lengthen the episodes and ruin the pace of the story.

Quite liked the new Naruto, well animated and paced. Nice cinematic thing showing the flash-forward.

Oh, and the manga's about to get interesting, if the spoilers for the next chapter are true..

Yeah, Naruto spoilers are gone and they've timeskipped.

I missed Kakashi gaiden though, not sure if they've done it as I've not watched any of the fillershit arcs..

Sasuke's going to kill Orichimaru! Or at least have a go at it.

Is the manga spoiler showing?

They skipped the Kakashi Gaiden. God knows why, or how they'll crowbar it into the series now.

Hour special at some point? probably new year 2008...

The first episode of the new series was pretty good yeah.

I'm excited about seeing the recent chapters animated, too.

as for the next chapter, good luck sasuke! it might be just me, but I get the feeling that Naruto might be coming to an end with the current arc. There's not much more powerful he can get... then again, shonen manga...

He's only equal to Kakashi, he still has Jiyama and the others to catch up to!

Feels to me like it's being set up for Sasuke to turn proper evil. Then another timeskip, and we'll have series ending with a climatic battle between Naruto and Sasuke..

No! I haven't but there's a good reason for that. It's disappeared along with azumanga and chobits. So I'll need to re-aqquire them. :(

Azumanga is another very funny series, bringing us some of the most adorable characters in anime, see Hemzoozlefluff*'s avatar for one example. I've started Chobits, some bits are a bit :) *ahem*, but its pretty funny so far.

But FMP!... dude... I trust you'll acquire it with all possible alacrity! :P

I'm not sure Naruto has that much further to go, if Sasuke can challenge Orochimaru and Naruto can take out a member of Akatsuki... you're probably right though, considering how much they love to spin these stories out. I dunno, I reckon after the big fight with Sasuke, if there is one, I reckon he'll turn good due to fan demand, and so that Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura can becme the next legendary three.

It'd be interesting if Shino or Neji or some other character killed Itachi first though. Actually, no it wouldn't, then Sasuke would be even more emo than before.

oh god, I've started theorising, there's no hope for me anymore.

I imagine many people in this thread have seen Fruits Basket. It's a sugar-sweet show, and there isn't all that much to it, but it is amusing, as is its premise - and if you're the kind of person to go all gooey over sweet things, it can be hideously 'kawaii' at times.

It, like many anime series based on comics, doesn't end at the end though, so if the plot does grab you (it does have its moments), you'll need to read the manga to get to the conclusion. Still, it does end at a relatively satisfying point, so you won't have to put up with ending on a real cliffhanger at least.

A really nice sweet anime, it also has psychological undertones of not 'belonging' and stuff, but there's plenty of kawaii to go round.

Oh, and Mr. Mouse was one of the most androgynous characters I've ever seen in an anime, I mean, look at him!:

Its a great anime without a really satisfying ending. Its the most sucessful manga in America atm and I'm currently waiting for the next book to come out. There is so much more in the manga which is such a shame with the anime as it stops at around volume 8 I believe (is waiting for vol 16 to come out in april).

There have been rumours thats another series is/was going to be made but I dont think its true, but it would be an excellent idea! The anime is good though if you are intersted, watch it!

Its not just about the sohma family turning into animals, it goes deeper than that like Bibly said. There are very sad moments in it and alot of psycological depth into people problems and previous experiences (Yuki 'rat' and kyo are 2 good examples) as well as people outside the family.

Kyo is my favorite charater I think, they are all great

No they don't unfortunately. Mazinger Z has never been fansubbed, the only thing available are rips from HK pirate DVDs with very bad English subtitles. There's a torrents for the complete series on BoxTorrents.

I'm not really a fan of the sentai type stuff, but I'm sure there are groups that sub that sort of thing. I don't know any though.

Yeah I'd been meaning to get round to the manga at SOME point, just reading manga can be quite time-consuming 'n all. I think I might borrow 1-12 or so off of a friend soon.

Oh, and those AMVs were very appropriate :D . I'm rather disappointed that Momiji didn't get his own song though :( .

I think Sakura is too crap for that, and even so the original 3 Sanin didn't exactly turn out to be best friends so I think if Sakura gets better they could still end up being refered to as that.

I hope Itachi kills Sasuke and Naruto and ends up ruling the world with evil.

Great chapter anyways, I liked that blade that Sasuke made from his Chakra, hope he batters Orochimaru.
