Disagree totally. The Elfen Lied manga is badly drawn and tediously paced, the anime is pretty much a scene for scene recreation (until later on) with a little thought applied here and there along with a stunning soundtrack and nice animation. If I didn't know better, I'd think the manga was adapted from the anime!

As for Hellsing, it sounded cool in theory being told mostly from the perspective of the only actual characer in the series, Leona Heidern Seras Victoria, but ended up being completely retarded in almost all departments except for the soundtrack which is pretty nice I guess. LOL GONZO.

I've agreed with that sentiment UNTIL the latest anime I'm watching, Gundam Wing. Now I remember watching this dubbed a good 8-10 years ago or something, and I KNOW Heero Yuui did NOT have such a high pitched/squeaky/girly voice in the english dub. I'm still persevering with the sub (of course I always watch things subbed), but I get the sneaking suspicion that I'll end up prefering the old dubbed Heero, that said they probably wrecked the other characters in the dub, but it was too long ago for me to remember.

Heero sounded like a 50 year old man in the English version, it freaked me out. The best voices from the English dub were Duo, Zechs and Treize. I used to think the dubbed version was good too, then I watched the subbed version of Endless Waltz and tried the dubbed again. F**k me, the dub is HORRENDOUS.

Speaking of good dubs, for some reason I prefer the old dubbed version of Akira to the Japanese and new dub. All of the voices and lines were perfect, and they ruined it with the new version. I really need to find the old one on DVD somewhere Others that I like (most probably because I saw the dubbed versions first) are Macross Plus and Ninja Scroll. Isamu in Macross Plus is hilarious, shame the rest of the cast (especially Myung) were pretty bad. Still, I always watch the English versions for those films purely for Nostalgia.

Ok so, Naruto Shippuden is fucking awful. They managed to get filler into the first episode. Fucks sake[/] It must be made by utter spackers. And that's before I go into the shitty directin of it, where they decided to throw away the authors really good buildups (revealing teh new Naruto and so on) and showing the Sasuke scene at the very beginning. Fucking retards. And on top of this, there's constant fucking interuptions, with characters addressing the audience directly and generally talking utter garbage (like 'oh look I'm taller, even though it's ALREADY BEEN POINTED OUT IN THE FUCKING DIALOGUE OF THE STORY'), and other such shitty 'comedy' they'd forced in which doesnt need to be there.

I definately wont be watching any more of that shit, I only just made it to the end of the double ep. Christ, I just cant believe how bad it is. I wish they'd just make shit up completely and now butcher the authors story so badly.

What filler would that be then considering the entire Sasuke thing should have happened an ENTIRE story arc and a half after. As far as I remember everything from that episode except the "break" animation (those comedy bits you disliked) was in the manga. So quit your complaining about non-existant filler.

It was a fucking double episode special. The characters have almost always talked to the audience directly at some point in those and they have those little breaks in them that you seemed to hate this time around. And actually for the "OH LOOK I'M TALLER" bit you mentioned, it was first mentioned in the little break bit BEFORE it was mentioned in the actual episode. And constant interruptions? There was about four of those in the entire episode each coming around the time the episodes would end for commercial breaks (or so I'm assuming). So I do think you're fucking overexaggerating. It certainly wasn't that bad. The only thing I would really agree with would be the Sasuke thing. Seemed weird to put it there.

Other than that it's the same thing that's pretty much been in the Naruto anime since forever. I for one am glad that they've gotten past the fillers and hope they don't accede to your wishes.

Just got around to watching those-there "Amazing Nuts!" music videos. Quite interesting, but the last one was rubbish, and the first one wasn't really fitted to the music. Middle two were more interesting though. Worth a look if you can find the collection 'out there', but not really worth buying.

I seem to have a problem where I think anything involving vampires is totally amazing, so it's hard for me to make a rational judgement. However, so far the Ultimate OVAs are leagues ahead of the series, the animation and use of CG is excellent (especially compared to the low low budget and downright ugly stylings of Gonzo's low low quality effort) and it's much closer to the manga - in terms of the character's attitudes and behaviour as much as the storyline.

If you're a fan of the manga like me, it won't piss you off with it's rubbishness at the very least. I certainly enjoyed it...

Sorry if I offended you, but your post came across as overly defensive and fanboyish to me. I'd like to know how you think my complaints are nonsensical though. I thought I'd quantified them fairly clearly, as to me every change they made from the manga was to the detriment of the show. I'd understand if you considered them to be subjective complaints, but they are in no way nonsense.

Ah, just rewatched Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence. I love the dubs, but the subs tell a better story. It's annoying to an extent. Oh, and the visuals are lushhhhhhhhh. So good, so good.

sure, it's a philosophical anime which took me 4 watches to fully understand what was going on, but hey, a masterpiece. I recommend it to everyone who is looking for that deeper sort of anime.

It takes the psychological debates from the first film - which were good, and made the first film the piece of work it is - and takes them out of context, so that every character behaves like, well, an academic - rather than a police-officer, say. Just too overdone.
