Boot Sales 11th & 12th April

First boot sale of the year for me, and whilst it was massive i picked up nothing. Well except for some food ;)

As usual, there were several megadrives with crap games, a boxed NES, a GBC, some PS1s, lots of PS1 and PS2 games (nothing worth buying though to be honest) and a couple of over the top N64s with rubbish games. This year i don't want to pick stuff up for the sake of it so i left it all alone..

And to top it off, the car got stuck whilst i was driving off the grass on the side of the road. I got some guy to help me push the car back on though after 30 mins of waiting and stressing out.

Tommorrows should hopefully be better, plus parkings better too :D Gotta be careful though cos im going with a bunch of mates, so i gotta be careful they dont go and buy stuff that i want heh

anyone done any better? Well its not hard is it..

Went to 2 car boots today

Was annoyed when arrived at 08.06 ( official oppening time 08.00 ) to find out from sellers my wife knew that people had been there buying from 06.15.

The site had obviously been targetted by a serious retro collector before I arrived as there was not even a MD Sonic 1 in sight. I have never seen such a poor retro showing.

A few PS1 games and one solitary MD for 118 cars ( my wife works at the place so I have an exact number ) was it.

Still, I did manage to get the Star Trek NG "Data" VHS box setwhich I have wanted for years and regularly goes on ebay for £50+ - I paid £4 :D:D

Went to 2nd car boot and by then it was getting on ( 09.45 )

I managed to get a cricket game for the SNES for £1

I also got the following

Dreamcast

Extra Controller

Boot Disc for copy games

VMU

Chu Chu Rocket

WWTBAM

Virtua Tennis

Vigalante 8 : 2nd Offenese

Total cost - £30 - not great, but its in perfect nick and I have been wanting to give the DC another go for a while.

Its part of the collection - will fire it up over the next few days, even if its utter garbage - it doesn't matter its part of the collection :D and I am hanging onto it.

Mr Spew - local papers and keep an eye out for those signs stuck on lamp-posts as your driving around - those pink/yellow signs you ignore are telling you there is a boot sale around the corner :D

Picked up a Game Genie for the SNES for 50p and also Bangai-o for DC for a few quid. Not the best condition but its all there. How much does this sell for?

also missed out on Legend of Dragoon on Ps1. I was gonna buy it but some woman got to it before me. I was a bit gutted.

Lots of console stuff there though, including a totally mint blue n64 with 4 unboxed games for £15 and lots of megadrives as usual, including a few snes too.

oh saw 2 copies of Ms. Pacman too for megadrive. didnt realise they were worth anything.. oh well.

I don't know where you go or live to get that lot but it's a strange and almost incredbile place of treasure.

If I actually thought that it was worth getting out of bed for round my way I'd do it, but I know full well that it isn't. :(

thing is , what are you gonna do with all that stuff? I honestly could have got all that at the boot sale today, but not only would i have anywhere to put it - it would take ages to shift if i tried to sell it.

My mates moaned at me today about buying stuff to sell at a profit. Saying im always out to make money and bullshit like that. I tried to point out a lot of people do that nowadays, maybe not for games but other stuff. I dunno.

Oh if you wanna shift any of the game gear stuff lemme know =) I collect GG games, well kinda. Im really only after cheap stuff though..

I know someone that collects games from car boots sales that would make my finds look like a pile of smeg on a weekly basis.

I have only been booting seriously for 1 complete year now, its about this time 12 months ago, I saw all you guys posting your finds and though I would give it a go.

I got up at 5:00am this morning and got home about 1pm. Drove about 40 miles something like that.

The area is good but I have to travel sometimes 30 miles to get there, so whether you count that as "my area" or not, I don't know. The problem is that there are shitloads of people collecting games, it was just that I couldn't believe none were around today.

I did feel a little guilty on Sunday, myself and another car boot wizard used this pikey bloke in one of our zany schemes to foil the attempts of another collector - I was laughing about it all afternoon :D :D :D This pikey didn't appear to know he was just a pawn - and thought we were the bees knees :D

Some days I am chatting all morning and miss loads, some mornings I am business only like today :D

I would say I keep about a third of what I find, the rest I swap/trade and the rest goes on ebay/elsewhere, was even thinking of doing a car boot sale :D:D

Redsquirrel, I could point out about 2 dozen people that I see week in, week out - I know exactly what they are buying, and they know what I want. You better believe they are only buying to sell, unless you can "collect" Mobile Phones, Lego, Chairs etc because they buy those items and nothing else.

I don't like much else other than Nintendo, and am always building up my collection.

I'm with Redsquirrel on this year, I'll only be buying stuff to sell on and not really stuff for myself as there's not a lot I want now. There were BOAT LOADS of playstations and megadrives as usual.

It's not been very good pickings games wise this weekend. From what I can remember...

Boxed Majoras Mask, Conkers BFD, Mario Tennis and MK Double Dash - £20

NES Action Set - £10

Loose Majoras Mask - £3

Game Gear in case with battery pack and game - £2

Time Crisis Boxed Set - £3

Mint Boxed Original Gameboy - £5

Tombi PS1 - £1.50

Namco Museum Vol 5 - £2

Spyro enter the dragonfly and Spiderman on PS2 - £6

Megaman Legends 2 - £2

The 2 best buys of the weekend were not game related..

I got a brand new RC plane with brand new engine, prop and radio gear worth £400 for £115

I also got this little lot....

http://www.btinternet.com/~rmorgan/transweb.jpg

Transformers, all for £10. All original release and with a good amount of the accessories. Must be 50 different items.

Indeed I was, however as you know I keep away from certain boots on certain days and like to spread my considerable love about.

I went out yesterday (as you well know) and today...

Now I can't be arsed with Amiga sh*t - I did see Y&T for the first time in an age, a couple of amigas wih a pile of games but frankly wouldn't touch them with yours so I ended up with this lot. (BTW I'm not suprised you were allowed to operate with impunity this morning, our mutual friend that we sent off elsewhere turned up at my regular bank holiday haunt, I shall have to fix that for next time, not that He got anything..). and as you saw yesterday I won't have N64 in the house ;-)

So: I plundered the following.

Pal ps1.

Namco museum 3 £1

Help Charity compilation £1

Capcom Generations £3

Everybodys golf 2

Star Wars Rebel Assualt

Jumping Flash £3

Theme Hospital £2

Pal ps2

Ecco £1

kiri Kiri mix. £2

Eye toy and game £10

Spectrum 48K boxed , interface 1, pile of games, a few carts - boxed - which is very nice, £10 .

Xbox

Sims busting out £10

Tennis game £3

DOA3 £5

DC

Soul Calibur £2

Snes, 4 games, £4.

Snes, unBoxed, 5 Games, all boxed, £9

Big (and I mean big) pile of PC Games, so what you cry, well were talking 50p a pop and the likes of Discworld 1 and 2 in big boxed, various monkey islands, FF VII blah blah.

2 pds, both a fiver each both Windows CE devices.

TI994a inc 10 games £2

spectrum plus 48 £3

sms
