I just came in to say that I now officially hate Onslaught mode because unless your entire team has a brain then you're going to lose no matter how hard you try, and also the Raptors breed such terrible camping it's unreal (arf arf)

It is a definite disadvantage.

See, I like that aspect of Onslaught. In Assault, CTF and TDM it boils done to who has the best player, and in Double Domination who has the two best players. In Onslaught you can still win even if you're not terribly accurate, just so long as the team works together.

When the Edge Server is up and running I think I'll have it alternating between TDM, CTF and Onslaught. I think theres a way to configure it so players can vote to change game type, if there is then I'll have that on too.

I tried playing Splinter Cell the other day with a stranger by only using words I had heard from The Bill.

I was like, "Sierra Tango two three five, over. We have a 10/4 in room 202. ETA 30 seconds"

And he's like, "Dude, STFU".

I thought I'd go support Footle and I did :ph34r: The RED owner of the server disconnected us after this, ha ha ha ha ha but at least AFTER the game finished.

It was the fact that I went ahead and took out the top middle red node after Jay and I scouted forward and went one node ahead of the reds that helped us win the second match but I couldn't have done it without Jay. footle was better than me though but I didn't see him the whole match. The Reds had one of those big bugger Ion cannons and all and 2 more team members than us, they were pertty shit tactically as they didn't see me take out the critical node while they were concentrating on a useless blue one on the right (we had a connection on the left already).

Okay so Onslaught is good, when you've got a team with a brain.

from the scores it looks like he did a lot of mindless killing, which is good if you've got some tactical people there like me and Jay :ph34r: I'm only kidding Footle, You did brilliantly, I just didn't see you at all the whole match

Really? Well I'm just saying what I did, there was a massive struggle over the node on the right, maybe Footle kept on destroying the red one and building it as blue, they certainly kept the Reds occupied over there while we were doing a coup d'maison. I didn't really get a look in while the Red base was being destroyed, I was keeping their Ion cannon busy running circles around it in a Manta

I didn't hear from or see Footle at all, he didn't respond to anything I said so I have no idea what he was doing.

I have no idea who Jay was but he seemed to get what I was doing and backed me up.

My score on that game was solely down to me grabbing the lev at the critical point in the game (I assume before you turned up - it'd explain how the tide shifted) - when we were being forced back onto our final node. Then sat in lev and took on all comers (fortunately another couple of peeps jumped in with me).

I seem to remember I spent the rest of the game bouncing around in front of their base firing rockets at idiots who just didn't want to run straight past me and attack the critical node.

The server then went onto Frostbite and the Forest level.

Which are both annoying with lots of people and no real teamplay.

I'm definitely going to be outclassed on the Edge server.

I'm suprised about not noticing me, didn't you notice the OMFG a GURLL!!!11111's?

About the changing to a next level, really? I got forcibly disconnected after the game ended! I assumed they got pissed off as we beat them so hard

Perhaps they were just worried by the idea of "girls"? :-)

I've maybe turned speech off, because, thinking about it, there hasn't been much in the way of random weird noise going on.

I'll go and sort it out, because it'd be annoying if I play with a load of you later today.

I had to turn EAX and hardware sound off to be able to hear peoples mic's.

On a side note, if you have text to speech off because of the grating voice, you can change the voice if you go (in windows) to control panel -> speech ->text to speech

I now have Mary’s voice telling me "good game! Good game! Good game ROFL joo suxx"

You can also edit one of the .ini files (user or ut2004) that has a list of find and replace, this is where gg gets turned into good game!. I am going to change it so the more common things get blanked out. I just don’t notice people writing things if it is not spoken to me though :ph34r:
