I'm currently working on my first onslaught level. It's set in the deserty-canyon type area, with a large canyon running through the middle of the map and 2 bridges connecting the sides. I've also manipulated a vehicle factory so that you can control minigun turrets previously only avaliable in assault as well as bog standard laser turret type things.

I'll let everyone know when I can release a BETA version for playtesting. :D

I also have a collection of maps I made for UT2003. Tell me if you are interested. You can download 2 of my maps at www.geocities.com/fargalex/ut2004.html ...yeah, it's geocities, I know. Don't be surprised if they shut it down.

That was a fun game we had last night on Onslaught, but the tactics seemed a bit off... we've got to play Capture the Flag or Team Deathmatch! :D

I think we should all write down our usernames here so we can all add each other to the buddylist. I'll update the list on my initial message on the first page to include ach name as they get posted

I was just involved in a fantastic match including two other Edgers...Guru Meditation error and U2031. Team work really made the day here, although I did feel kinda bad ordering my team about, I did my fair share of linking, defending, attacking etc. We won one match and I had to go in round 2...hope you coped without me. :P

We lost round 2 but won round 3 and 4. When we lost round 2, due to bad bad tactics (I might add not on my part, I defended the base to the end!) half the team quit! Hah! Probably the half that was just charging around, so good riddance. Did I do okay for a 'N00B' ?

You certainly did, it was good to see some familiar faces.

Fargal, it was handy you ordering people about, at least we had some kind of communication. I think that the talking thingy is great, you don't have time to type anything while you're playing, but I think I would feel a bit strange doing it.

If you contribute to the team via team work then you cannot be considered a "N00B". You did well.

There was a classic moment in round one...I wish I had recorded the match. There were 2 mantas heading for the middle power node-one tried to squish me but I managed to dodge out of the way. I got into a scorpian and stuck a ribbon to it, and to the other manta that was approaching as well. I sped past them, and someone was trying to shoot me-I jumped out of the car and it blew up in his face. MULTI KILL!

I have to say I really hate the mantas and the people that abuse them :P but apart from that I think Onslaught is very good. That CABAL guy took about 5 or 6 direct hits from my rocket launcher before he died from getting run over. I wish jolt.co.uk would install that cheatstopper software on their servers, just so I could be sure..

Microphone chat is great if you know what you are doing-a lot of people seem too shy to use it properly. It can be a bit strange doing it, but I've gotten used to it from talking over Half-Life for so long, I guess. And if you're not going to talk, who is?

Teamwork is the only way to go with a game like this. Anyone with a brain knows this, so anyone with a brain is not a newbie then :(

Did you get when I killed 3 people with a jeep and then a tank took the blades off? hee hee, and when all my spiders ate that guy and you went mmmmm dinner time? :P

Oh, you didn't record the match, I read it the wrong way :(

I was using the talkie software but I was using my studio mic, someone said they couldn't hear me so I stopped trying. Did you hear music instead?

That's so funny...you must've taken all that the wrong way. I actually said "Mmmm, dinner time!" because...I was going to have my dinner. Although I do think I saw you guiding all those spiders.

I did see you trying to use the microphone a couple of times...I said I couldn't hear anything. And I couldn't.

You can tell who's a bot, because of the names and that they have 0 ping.
