Oh, and it's laggy as fuck online ;)

Its actually better then the beta.

oh btw

I'M ON!!!!!! AHAHAHHAHHAAAa

My Decider is already coloured up, weapon config is set, Insignia is already made (very nice) and custom tracks have been chosen.

And watch out, the americans already have gen2 mechs.

Oh, interesting one:

"Touching"

In the trade section you can "touch" someone elses mech and unlock it in free mission. This requires tradeing a funky mech with someone and then giving it back (this reminds me of something but damned if I can remember what). Useless for campaign but enough for free.

Yay!!

And who needs an ironing board when Ikea made your coffee table :(

pros of an ironing board:

- everyone should have one somewhere around the house

- it's height adjustable

- it's easy to stow away

- if you put your shirts under the controller, it'll be pressed in a couple of hours.

cons of an ironing board:

- your wife looks at you funny

- your friends look at you funny

- your workmates look at you funny

- your family looks at you funny

- if you had a mirror you'd look at you funny

I'll be on later. Found the learning curve on the original to be well... a bit non-existant.

Heres your controller and enjoy the game....bye!

...

Hey wait!

But i'm still enjoying it even though I keep falling over in my mech.

Hurrah, Mr Pimp.

Send me an invite a bit later, eh?

Come on, where is everyone!

EDIT: great I spend £130 quid and everyone buggers off to some crappy game called splinter cell... :)

Managed to find a deathmatch game, got whipped so decided to find a mission game and rather embrassingly worked straight into a deep lake and drowned.More practise on the single player me thinks.

EDIT2: Is everyone else having problems online? I keep getting disconnected while joining a game. LoC so far has been a major let down, but the original has been great.

Is anyone up for a game of this today? I've just got the controller setup and I'm about to give it a test drive.

Oh, and nice tip virtua, I'll try to avoid the lakes

Bored of it already. Novelty, you're wearing off.

My first impressions aren't that great... the gameplay seems a little thin beyond the big controller and the roleplaying.

To be fair though I've only played it for about 90 minutes (most of which I spent trying to get into an online game at all!

I'm gonna get stuck into the single player mode today so I can approach line of contact with a bit more skill.

OK, it looks like that because of the way Live reports my connection I'll NEVER be able to connect to a campaign game despite the fact that a mate of mine's set up reports a fasty speed on Live but in reality is shite.

I'll contact my ISP and MS and see what they have to say...

the above link is info about connections

Kamatari -- I got your invite tonight, but was sitting at the dash hoping the general slowness I was getting tonight (not LoC related, just normal Internet things) would go away... it didn't.

I had some truly AMAZING games yesterday, in free battle (and campaign, but still more free battle), learning to use one of the newer VTs properly, in a command situation. Took on three 2nd gen. VTs at one point, in a Sheepdog, and walked (well, ran + overdrive) away without a scratch, while the remaining team took their bases :P

Woo!!

Oh, and I still haven't had as bad an experience with lag as some are reporting. Restricted games let the host decide if you want to join, so maybe you're being denied because of your rank. One can't always join campaign either, untill certain supply criteria are met, so if you lose your VTs in game and cannot spawn, you need more points so you have to wait.

You only get a problem with the game booting you if you stay below the 'X' connection speed for longer than a few minutes, afaik.

I haven't had any problems though and MANY others seem to be enjoying the game. You're just a bunch of girls, can't handle the steep difficulty curve of the game :P
