Lost - The Full Series Thread

The one I'm grabbing on Newsbin at the moment appears to be mislabelled as Season 1 Episode 4, but is listed as Season 6 Episode 4 on the Newsbin website.

lost.s01e04.hdtv.xvid-p0w4.nfo

But the comment on the site confirms it as Season 6 Episode 4 - I'll let you know in about 8 minutes if this is true.

EDIT: Confirmed - the file names above is mislabelled and IS Season 6 Episode 4. The Newsbin size was about 398MB. The file extracts with the wrong name as well, but does have the correct folder name!

D...did they just "explain" the numbers? I think they just explained the numbers! I doubt them occuring in that scene was just another of the inside jokes. They were focused upon heavily and highlighted a link between Jacob and our gang. I think I'm happy with that. Addressing the issue without actually explaining anything as no explanation would make sense.

I certainly got a thrill as the scene played out, which is all I can ask for.

The explanation given to the numbers in this episode excite me greatly, especially thinking how it could relate to the valenzetti equation. The idea of the finale of Lost with the six of them all saving the fucking world is giving me a hard on.

Also, I wonder why Kate wasn't assigned a number? Is it possibly because she was only ever on the island to manipulate Jack and Sawyers decisions to suit Jacob? Looks like she's definitely not a candidate.

And the alt Locke bits were awesome. Ben a history teacher! Rose dying, and Hurley being awesome.

Did anyone else think the guy delivering the case back to Locke was Walt? Or was that just misdirection? I also got the impression that the school kid Locke grabbed to ask where the staff room was was meant to make us think of Walt as well.

Also, the black and white stones an in joke?

That almost reads like satire!

So!

Looks like we'll be getting more and more answers fed to us soon. Really enjoying the stuff with not-Locke manipulating Sawyer. Thought the flashbacks in the cave were entirely unnecessary and rather clumsy, though.

Locke's funeral was well done. Oh, and Ben Linus teaching European History? The man has class.

I think the spoiler policy is rediculous. Never seen a Lost thread which is so rediculous. Most places after the episode airs, you put the main plot points in spoilers for a day or so, but not every little thing. I don't see how pretty much just saying 'it's a good episode without spoiler tags will piss anyone off.

So...

All filler up 'till the point in the cave. Man this shit needs to move forward already. These episodes are over way too quickly.

I still think the alternate time line is just to show the fans what kind of effect the bom would've had and they worked it in the main story line. Obviously them returning to their normal lives is pretty boring. So far it has been anyway.

I hope the season finale ends with "Surprise! To be continued in Season 7 next year."

Filler!? What about the revelation that the smoke monster, the thing we believed responsible for all the apparitions on the Island...saw one himself. One that Richard couldn't see, but Sawyer could. A little kid that again referenced the "rules" hinting further at some crazy bigger picture nonsense.

I don't think I would class any of the on-island stuff as filler. The Sun/Frank/Ilana story established the next stage in Sun's search for Jin, and had Ben expressing regret at killing Locke.

We still don't know what direction they're going in with the side-flashes, but we've been told that each story has equal value and they'll both be relevant down the line. And it brought some great moments like the one with Hurley.

No pleasing some people!

It's just that if this wasn't the final season I would have no gripes with this episode. To me it just feels like we're running out of time and I've got a feeling that they're going to cram in a ton of stuff in the final few episodes leaving us with a convoluted conclusion.

Also, this is starting to look like it's something biblical and Flocke being incarnated by the devil or something. Not that special. Man... Nerve wrecking stuff.

I think whizzo is the only one with sand in his vagina over saying an episode is good being a spoiler. I've never come across it before either.

I liked the opening where the first-person smokey became first-person Locke. Love history teacher Ben. Cave was interesting. And SmokeLocke looking a bit nervous or maybe a bit scared with the kid appearing.

I'm convinced people don't actually know why they watch this show. In no way was that filler. At all. We found out how the numbers related to the characters. Geez! Do people honestly expect them to just constantly answer questions instead of character stuff?

Well for one they could stop pissing about walking across the island all of the god damned time and just skip forward every time we get a 'Flashside'. That would leave some more time for the important stuff instead of epic stares and what not.

Don't get me wrong I absolutely love the show and if it had a hole I would fuck it but these last two episodes are kind of slow and don't seem to be moving at the pace the first couple did.

Should I even spoiler this post or?

The statue is on the complete opposite side of the Island from the beach camp. In an earlier season carrying Locke's corpse through the jungle would have required an episode or two, with some contrived peril along the way. In this episode it was just a matter of "We should bury him - scene - hooray we're here!"

So we have to spoiler good or bad reactions to each episode now?

That was a class episode, one of my favourites of all seasons. Whoever is calling it a filler episode should probably stop watching and give it a marathon watch when it all finishes. It more of a stepping stone from lack of answers to a sudden setup for the remainder and finale of the season.

I'm pretty confident that little kid is Jacob, but not sure why he's there. Smokey is pretty convincing, at times I felt sorry for him, and left me wondering who really is the bad guy in all this. Richard being genuinely terrified of Smokey needs to be explained in a Richard centric episode.

It feels like we have enough episodes remaining to finish off the one overlying story arc; the motives of Jacob/Smokey, and why they need the Losties on their side.

I think people are just used to Season 5 pace, which was very fast. I just genuinely don't know how an episode with a huge mythological reveal, signalling where Sun and Lapidus and crew are going, and revealing a tad more about MiB can be described as filler, or even slow. On top of that, we got a nice Locke story, with some great character interactions and acting, which may well lead to having massive significance later on
