Lost - The Full Series Thread

Has that been confirmed as real? Reeks of a tacky fan-made photoshop job to me. Especially the VHS, can't see them realistically including one in the set, and if it's just made to look like one, what's the point? Not getting my hopes up just yet. Does look cool though.

The above is concept artwork, but a LE has been confirmed.

And, Amazon US have the LE listed for $93.99. (same artwork)

While speaking at a Seattle music and arts festival, Lost exec-producers Carlton Cuse, Eddy Kitsis, and Adam Horowitz dropped several morsels of goodness for fans. First off, they reiterated that we shouldn’t expect every single mystery to be solved come the series finale at the end of season six. (And honestly, at this point, how could we expect them to?) Also of note was a dose of reality announced by Mr. Cuse regarding the future of the franchise—while season six is the end of the series as far as they know, Disney will probably do something with the Lost franchise down the line.

If you don’t think that last bit is truly newsworthy, I’m with you. Lost is a ginormous success for Disney, and we can’t seriously expect them to stop milking this cash cow. If anything, Lost: Via Domus is all the proof we need to see that Disney is willing to push the franchise as much as they can, regardless of quality. There’s some value in considering what else could be done with the franchise, but I can’t think of anything I want for the series right now except for a fitting end.

As for the news that not all will be revealed, I believe this is something Cuse and Lindelof have been hinting at for some time now (they may have even said the same thing at Comic-Con). Logistically, Lost has raised many questions by this point, and there just may not be a way to resolve everything without breaking the narrative and spoon feeding answers to the audience for several episodes. Of course, this could just be an easy way to escape from many early setups that probably have no logical resolution at this point in the series.

Hurley and Miles sitcom

I'd watch that. The best episode would be the one where Sawyer goes out to bars/clubs in order to get laid, but Hurley and Miles keep wrecking his chances by following him around and bickering with each other.

Looks like there won't be any promos before S6.

I'm hearing from Lost sources that every single shot of the first few episodes are so revealing that the producers have convinced ABC to NOT SHOW A SINGLE FRAME before the new season airs. No promo scenes, no photos, no nada! So you will be completely in the dark, but it is for good reason: The twists they're planning are so good, you will WANT to be surprised. Trust me. Your mind gonna go kaplewey.

Wasn't it said around the time of season 3 that there was going to be a film ending?

I'm never keen on the idea as it always makes it look different, the injection of a bigger budget and film standards make the whole thing seem alien.

I'd expect a 2 hour season finale will be fine.

spin off into comics afterwards telling stories and what not if they feel the need.

Final season split. 'Few' episodes in Jan, rest in March.

For those of you who were hoping for a fairly seamless run through for Lost's final season (similar to the way Season 5 ran with almost no breaks), you're out of luck. According to Abramsology.com, Lost's 6th season is going to be broken up.

According to executive producer Cartlon Cuse, ABC will air the first few episodes in January and then take a time out for the Winter Olympics. The Olympics aren't even airing on ABC, but Lost will still take a break and resume the season in early March.

No official January kick off date has been announced yet.

Dammit, was really hoping there'd be no breaks. :blah:

Nothing Earth shatteringly amazing but somebody has decoded what the hieroglyphics on the poster for the final season mean:

“Lost” is not in the habit of giving its followers a straight audience. To paraphrase a good friend of mine, “It’s a little odd you have to use Wikipedia to understand the show.” Most “Lost” viewers were unable to decipher the heiroglyphics on the poster for “Lost’s” final season, but now their has been revealed and they offer a very cool interpretation. It’s even cooler when you notice a small detail at the top of the poster. Hit the jump to move one step closer to the answers we’ve all been waiting for.

Popular Mechanics spoke with Dr. James Allen, Dr. James Allen, Wilbour Professor of Egyptology and Chair of Egyptology and Ancient Western Asian Studies at Brown University. He’s the one who noted that the mysterious four-toed statue revealed at the end of the fifth season was not Anubis as many assumed which is probably why he’s the Wilbour Professor of Egyptology and Chair of Egyptology and Ancient Western Asian Studies at Brown University and we’re not.

He noticed that the statue is actually of Taweret, “the half-hippo, half-croc Egyptian goddess who protected mothers and infants.”

When asked about the hieroglyphics on the poster, he said they translated in to “Who is the guide?” or “Who is the leader?” Well that’s vague but interesting.

But here’s where it gets REALLY interesting. As someone pointed out to me, check out the poster below and look at the people at the top of the poster. It looks like it’s every cast member who has ever been on the show. Now look at the middle of the poster, right above the “F”. There’s only one person in this line-up who has his back turned. It’s Locke.

I’m not saying he’s the guide/leader but I’m already excited at what these two pieces of the puzzle could mean for “Lost’s” final season.
