A promo for ABC's upcoming TV year features Dominic Monaghan but it was quickly confirm that the clip is from his new show and not a reappearance in Lost.

Apparently someone says "I thought you were dead?" to him and he says "I was". Have you actually seen it?

No, I've not seen it but I know /Film were quick to contact ABC about it.

Unless it's all a scam and he actually IS back and ABC are in the deal.

Started watching this right through from the start, to try and spot bits I've missed out and things I haven't thought about for a while. I'm finding a surprising amount of it, I thought that seeing as I've been keeping up to date with podcasts, and Lostpedia/ The Fuselage, pretty much right since the show started, Id be pretty much on top of it. But there's loads of things I'm spotting.... Danielle talking about "The Others" being carriers, Locke with mad black possessed eyes , in Claire's dreams while she is pregnant (which are very prophetic in other ways).

We're doing the same - up to season three now and just watched the stinker of an episode that was the Paulo and Niki story. I've noticed season three is so slow and plodding compared to the other four. Seen some nice touches though, like Sun using a Widmore branded pregnancy test kit

I wonder if Widmore left the island with some kind of gift or special knowledge? He seemed the same kind of raggedy-assed native as everyone else but since leaving the island, the times we've seen, he's been massively rich & in charge of Widmore Industries, that does construction, along with making pregnancy tests - and almost certainly a whole other batch of products and services. He appears to have near limitless resources. Not bad for a kid riding around on a horse.

Either we're going to find a really dull answer like he inherited the company from his father or a more interesting, managed to travel through time sort of thing and wisely invest his cash.

I would take the Niki/Paulo episode over the Jack tattoo episode. The first half of season 3 is very slow and the weak point for the entire show. Once the end date was set, the show went into full gear and hasn't stopped since.

I think the Niki/Paulo episode is the hump in season three, once you get beyond that it really speeds up. I didn't realise just how little Eko was in it until this re-watch

Surely it's what you've said at the end, that's what makes sense. That he'd travelled in time and knew what to invest in, hence he's rich. However, that kind of thing is pretty boring to show, therefore I'm not sure it'll ever actually be displayed in the show, especially as it only has a few episodes left.

I've never understood the hate for the hate for the Nikki & Paulo episode. It's a filler episode, yeah, but it's pretty good for a filler episode, isn't it?

I thought it was a good episode in that it showed the writers were listening to feedback from the fans. They could have plugged away with the characters or let them drift into the background again but they sent them out in a blaze of glory.

Are people talking about the one with Lando in, where Nikki and Paulo get buried? I loved that episode as a stand alone. Nothing can beat the shitness of Jack's Tattoo as far as bad episodes go. I remember once saying to my wife that we'll know when Lost has run out of flashback ideas when we get the story of Jack's Tattoo, and low and behold they did it. Luckily the show recovered from it!

I've been watching it from the start.

One of the major things I've picked up on so far is the smoke monster and Locke.

Locke see's the smoke monster very early in the show and talks about it being beautiful and all that, so it's clear he saw something special at that point, enough so that he didn't fear the monster.

So near the end of the first season when it comes back, Locke isn't afraid and when all others run, he stands there expecting it to be ok. But then it attacks him and tries to drag him away. After that point Locke seems shocked by how he was treated as if the smoke monster crossed him after telling him everything was ok.

Season 6 will be 17 hours now! YAY!

2 hour intro, 2 hour outro confirmed too.

Just got to wait till about Jan time now BOO!

Apart from the pilot, I don't remember having a two-hour season intro before. Probably necessary, seeing as they've got a lot of shit to explain.

They're the second best types of episodes too, so should be good!

I agree, Locke is key to the whole thing. Remember in season one episode three when he said the whole 'two players, one light one dark' thing to Walt? Then the brief scene where he had one dark and one light eye? It seems what happened at the end of season five was signposted way back at the start of the show. I'm currently rewatching the series with from the start too with my girlfriend (who's never seen it before), we've just got past the slow middle of season three and are at the part where the show is getting better and better. It's amazing just how much is there that you never picked up on before that comes to the fore or is referenced down the line. It certainly has stunning continuity considering how many storylines/characters have come and gone over the years, although I really hope the final season isn't a reboot like some have theorised. The biggest mistake they made in the show was killing off Mr Eko, although I realise that was out of their control.

I have read recently that Eko would like to come back to the show and would be open to appearing in season 6

Err, wasn't the guy playing Eko the one who demanded to be written off the series, because he thought it was silly?

Despite being so desperate to leave in the first place! He was excellent in season two but the actor was awful at the start of season three, he didn't put any effort in. If he came back it would have to be in Flashback or vision form, I like the way that once a character is dead in this show they stay dead. It would be a shame for it to become like Heroes or something where nobody really gets killed off, knowing they can reappear you'd never fear for a characters life- losing a lot of dramatic tension.

This bit stood out to me whilst rewatching Dave today

LOCKE: Did you get caught on purpose? You and your people have been here for God knows how long, and you got caught in a net...

GALE: God doesn't know.

LOCKE: Excuse me?

GALE: God doesn't know how long we've been here, John. He can't see this island any better than the rest of the world can. May I ask you a question? What possible reason could I have for putting myself through all this?

I don't think that was what he was implying. My understanding of it is that maybe there are two smoke style monsters. One good/Jacob, one bad.

I thought that too.

It's good watching it all back that the stuff kicked off in season 3 about Locke being the leader is all started by him going back in time and telling Richard he was leader, which in turn is all set in motion by Christian telling him he has to leave the island and die.
