Lost - The Full Series Thread

Well Kelvin referred to it as 'blowing it all sky high' or something like that, didn't he? That's why I always assumed it was the bomb - probably completely wrong though!

I'm really intrigued as to how an innocuous serial number on the hatch door ends up being the method to contain the electromagnetism every 108 minutes as well

Would sort of fit if that mental guy is actually on the island, hurley is involved in making him go mad with those numbers and then he escapes back home and ends up in a mental home muttering those numbers over and over,

Leonard heard the numbers when he was in the Navy in the Pacific on the repeat transmission.

There were a couple, actually. In the episode where we saw Rousseau's team arrive on the island, there was a scene on the beach where one of them had a radio which was playing the transmission of someone saying the numbers. Many people say it's definitely Hurley's voice saying them, but I'm not entirely convinced. To me, it sounds like it could be Hurley, or it could just be someone with a similar voice. It would be quite satisfying, though, story-wise, if it was him who recorded the transmission.

There was also a bit in the episode where the Ajira plane crashed on Hydra island; in the cockpit, as the plane was going down, the numbers transmission can be heard for a couple of seconds coming over the radio.

Is it possible that Desmond's ability to be some kind of variable is linked to him turning the key in the failsafe? Up to that point, nothing particularly wierd happens to him, but since then it's all oddness with him...

Oh, hears a thought. Remember when he turns the failsafe, the next we see of him is him running out of the jungle naked with no real memory of what just happened. What if that wasn't the same Desmond that turned the key? What I mean is, what if that Desmond who ran out of the treeline naked is from the future and was warped back in time to that point, but lost a load of his memories. That's why he has flashes of the future because to him they're memories. Maybe the Desmond who turned the key got flashed forward in time or something...

I think it's a given that triggering the failsafe is what made Desmond go funny. Whatever the failsafe was, it must have had similar properties to the experiments Faraday was doing before he came to the island.

There has been no explanation as to how Des survived the imploding Swan station, given that he was right in the middle of it when it happened. Or why he appeared naked afterwards. Perhaps they will address this.

So far, it seems only Desmond can change the timeline. But he can only make minor ripples, nothing major.

It would be interesting to see shots of the compass from all the different episodes it's been in, to see it's condition deteriorates, or not. I wonder if Richard's line about it rusting has more importance to it than I originally gave it credit for (not much, a throw away line).

I'm guessing the implication is that the compass must have had the rust removed from it at some point in order for Richard to notice it rusting? Either by traveling in time or something else? Maybe there will be a third intervention with the compass which starts the loop?

I've got to admit I prefer the all-knowing Richard to the "little bit out of his depth" Richard. You felt in the past that that cat had seen everything and knew exactly what was happening. Now, not so sure.

Could Alpert be like Locke and Christian? Perhaps arrived on the Black Rock but was killed/died en-route and the island resurrected him?

What the hell do the third team have in the silver chest? If it's another nuke then they're too late to the party! Imagine showing up on the main island to find someone else has bought the same nuke as you to blow up the island! :)

I imagine it would be relatively difficult to get a nuclear weapon through an airport.

Blimey - all quiet on the Western Front, in here, which is surprising as we have only ONE DAY TO GO!

Im worried it wont be as good as i hoped, and am gona have to wait for the weekend (i like to watch it in the dark, late, with no work in the morning). Theyve already said its the usual finale style, lots of questions left unanswered for the following 8 months.

I'm really looking forward to the finale but I've decided to wait to watch it on Sky on Sunday night. Come this time tomorrow I will probably really regret this decision

sky announcer: and now..the lost finale..

118 118..bla bla..cheapening of program by overbearing sponsor (whooshing noise)...introductory 2 minute scene..LOST...fade out.

118 118! la la la..

FUCK. OFF. SKY

Why wait? Adverts = shit.

I like watching it in HD and I can fast forward through the adverts. I know I can download it in HD but then that means sat watching it on my laptop as XBMC won't stream HD

Fair enough, I sometimes end up downloading Sky HD encodes as the capture from Sky HD is a lot better than the majority of low bitrate crappy HD that gets served up in the US.

I fully expect to crack by tomorrow evening and watch it on some SD rip

Yeah, with series 4 I usually always waited for 2.2GB HD encodes (better picture quality, 5.1 surround etc); but this season I've been too impatient and have been downloading the 1.2GB CTU/Dimension encodes which are usually online by the morning.

This is it then folks, finale time. We've all been here before - it could go either way. At least this year we've had less (or seemed to have less) of how the finale will be a changing moment in TV history or a 'game changer'.

Here's tonight's synopsis - double episode

The Incident - Jack's decision to set things right on the island is met with some strong resistance by those close to him, and Locke assigns Ben a difficult task.

Let's watch the spoilers for this one tomorrow! I think we've done pretty well all season :)

I'm preparing for an all nighter, as long as the last episode is up by 5:30am I'm safe. Hope they split it into the two different episodes and upload it that way. Just to save my waiting.

I'm fairly excited.
